Technically, PSD is the most preferred because of the layering, but Flash really likes lossless PNGs too. BMP is treated like a hitch-hiker that they couldn't wait to dump at the next town. <_<

The important thing is to add enough of her characteristics to make the character recognizable but the only thing your character has in common with Wendy is that they`re both female koopas lol.
I`d say though that, like in the picture I attached, she definitely needs her pink and white polka dotted bow, big lips, pink shell, yellow skin and a wand.
Improvising some other things (such as hairstyle, clothes, height, body type or accessories) is perfectly fine since you can still identify the character. It would feel like another version of wendy rather than an other character altogether.

As I see it, the improvements were made (not in particularly in order, but yeah):
1. More options
2. Cleaned it up
3. More characters/costumes
4. Better interface
5. 2nd part of the game (after the initial "boss fight")
6. Even more characters
7. Even better interface
Is there going to be an emphasis on more gameplay? Just wondering, since I figure that's what makes the evolution of this game development so interesting.
