The castle growing busier doesn't surprise her all that much, figuring that it means the arrival of King Robert and company. She's not sure how to feel about this entirely, since it means possible interactions with Queen Cersei... though for all she knows, she'll see her and find out why she was so often described as being one of the most beautiful women in the Kingdoms. It also reminds her of her goal to keep Bran (if she again remembered correctly) from falling and getting taken out for a spell.

Still, she can't say she knows or is aware of this, so asks, "Any idea what's got everyone hurrying about like that, milady?"

Sansa quirks a brow taking a look out the window. "There's nothing I was made aware of. Everyone I can see looks like they're in a hurry. Not a panic though, so I doubt we're under attack or anything." She knocks on the wood of the front of the carriage getting the guards' attention. "Something seems to be happening at home, can we hurry this along?" The carriage stops for a few moments as the guards mutter to each other before finally replying, "Alright, we can double-time it."

The carriage soon picks back up moving at roughly twice the speed. The carriage jostles a little bit more though considering the speed it's not that bad.

Her not being made aware of such didn't quite make sense to Kayin... she could swear Robert's arrival had been something Winterfell was expecting. But her memory for this period of time in Weseros was haphazard and shoddy, at best. She'd just have to wait and see once they arrived as the carriage jostled about a fair bit.

When the carriage arrives at the gate, Sansa's guards have to call out to get attention. The gate begins to open, and as the door opens, an older man waits to greet the three of you taking a knee as Sansa steps out. A dire wolf pup running quickly around her feet as she curtsies to the gentleman before speaking. "Ser Rodrick, things are looking rather busy." He nods before speaking. "Yes, we just got word. King Robert is coming up with a large host. They will be arriving on the morrow. We are preparing a feast for his arrival." Sansa nods. "I see, I suppose I should pick out something to wear." She turns to the both of you. "It was nice meeting you, Kayin. Ahlynn, it was a pleasure as always." She begins walking off with the pup following.

Stepping out of the carriage and inclining her head to the knight, and then to Sansa as she heads off, Kayin hums a bit as she murmurs "King Robert, mhm? Didn't fancy I'd ever have a chance to be in the same place as a King." She shrugs after a moment before glancing to Ahlynn as she asks, "Well, what now then? As a guest, I'm not sure if there's anything I should do to prepare, or if there's anything I could help with either."

The gathered guards and the knight quickly leave to go about their duties leaving you and Ashlynn together. "Yes, it is rather exciting. King Robert hasn't visited Winterfell since before I was born, so I've never had such a chance either." She thinks a moment. "Well, you can probably help out. There'll be decorating to do, lots of cooking and cleaning. We'll probably need to prepare for all the horses and hounds that'll be here too. I hear the King's appetite for hunting is nearly as big as his hunger for food and drink."

"Sounds like quite the jolly and merry sort then." Kayin replies, even knowing that some of that was done as a way to distract from how things had gone. In any case, she nodded and lets Ahlynn lead the way, throwing herself into whatever task she might wind up with. Even if she was a guest and not necessarily expected to help out much, she didn't exactly have much else to do at the moment. The only other thing she could think to do would be to cloister herself in the keep's library and read, but she had a feeling there would be plenty of time for that.

Besides, doing so might ingratiate her to the Starks a bit more. And that couldn't hurt, could it?

Ashlynn nods as you agree to help. "Thanks, I'm sure you'll be a big help making sure everything's ready. The first thing we should probably do is help in the Grand Hall. Let's go." Ashlynn led you to the main hall where you'd first met Lady Stark. You could see that several tables were being set up. Ashlynn led you to a spot behind the Main table where she found a few banners and flags in the Stark colors. "We can hang these up for now, but make sure to leave room for more. We must not have had anything prepared in the Baratheon colors, but someone will have been put to work on preparing those, and they'll need room left over to be hung later."

Following on after, Kayin could feel an excitement in the air even as folks hurried and busied themselves with their tasks. She nods and moves to help Ashlynn, finding the banners to feel a bit lighter than she expected given the size, though that didn't do anything against their bulk in some cases as a few were rather big. She found herself admiring the Stark Banner as she helped Ashlynn get one up, it taking a moment for her mind to recall the words of the House. Baratheon's she remembered easier, simply because she remembered a fair bit about Durrandon whose symbol and words Orys had taken as his own.

Here and there as she helped, she'd keep an eye out for the other Starks, as well as Lady Catelyn. Not out of any specific desire to engage in chatter with any of them yet, but more just to be aware of her surroundings. And to get some practice in for when she'd need to keep an eye out for the young Bran.

As you were helping out, the only sign you saw of the Starks themselves was with some poor maid chasing Arya who seemed to prefer running with her pup up and down the halls instead of preparing for tomorrow's arrival of her house's honored guests. As you thought about the Stark family motto, you did manage to find one banner that carried the words on it: "Winter is coming." With the banners and flags soon up, you noticed the tables were set up now.

"Alright, looks like the main hall is finished for now. Want to take a short break or help out elsewhere?" It was coming up on lunch now though it might be a little early to eat just yet even if you had worked up an appetite with recent activities.

Kayin couldn't help but giggle a bit at the antics of Arya and her direwolf pup, which distracted her here and there during the work. As much as she felt sympathy for the poor maid having to deal with it, the sight was quite adorable. Her smile faded a bit though when she eventually was reminded of House Stark's words, her mind echoing with the word and the knowledge of what was coming beyond the wall.

"We could probably find something quick to help with for a bit before we break for a meal." Kayin noted, stretching a bit as she hummed. "I did work up a bit of an appetite, but don't have to eat quite yet."

The saga of Arya's troublemaking does eventually come to a close when Caetlyn comes by to help usher her daughter away to the sigh of a very relieved-looking maid.

She nods, "Yeah, everyone's probably going to be starving during lunch today." She thinks for a moment. "Well, Maester Luwin might need some help organising the library. We could also check at either the stables or the kennels to see how they're planning to make room for the hounds and horses being brought from King's Landing. Where would you like to go and help out?"

Kayin sighs a bit when the antics of the young Stark lass are ended, but hums as Ashlynn brings up the suggestions. Within seconds, she knows which one she'd prefer to go for. "I think organizing the library sounds right up my alley." She says with a smile, her eyes glinting with curious delight.

She nods, "Alright, follow me." She leads you over to one of the towers which made sense given he was supposed to send and receive messages by bird. When you arrive, the place is a rather chaotic-looking mess. The old man there looks to be on the last leg of his life as he finishes scrawling out a message before carefully selecting a bird from a cage and sending it off with the missive.

As he turns to the two of you Ashlynn curtsies. "Maester Luwin, this is Kayin Dreemurr, a guest we received today. Kayin, this is House Stark's resident Maester, Luwin." The man nods to you. "A pleasure. I take it word of our oncoming guests have kept you busy."

Following after her, Kayin finds herself smiling brightly once she enters the library. She takes in a deep breathe as her eyes sparkle and twinkle with interest and curiosity. As she spots the Maester, she dips her head in greeting to him before offering her hand to shake his own. "A pleasure as well. And only a bit. We were thinking we'd find something else that might be less time consuming to work on before the midday meal is called. Ashlynn mentioned the library, and as a lover of books and knowledge, how could I say no to that?"

He nods, "Ah, it's good to hear someone having an interest in knowledge. It is a rare thing these days. I was just doing a little light dusting to prepare for King Robert's arrival though I doubt he will have much cause to come see my study." Ha hands you and Ashlynn dusters though he himself takes a cloth stepping over to a telescope. "These lenses require a delicate touch, but I'm sure you girls can be careful enough with some dusty old manuscripts."

Kayin was, briefly, tempted to make a comment about that last bit. But reminded herself that this was Westeros, and more than that, he was a Maester. So she kept it to a raised eyebrow even as she took the duster and moved to get to work. She took the oppurtunity to go ahead and check the covers, to see if she was able to read the language of the books as easily as she seemed able to speak it. She also, if she saw any tomes that had fallen down, set them back up properly.

Looking at the covers, the lettering looks unfamiliar, but you can indeed understand what it means. The books are all well-maintained needing only a little attention, but there doesn't seem to be any organization as to where they are or what other books are around them. You manage to find one or two books that have fallen to the floor placing them on the nearest pile. Ashlynn has similarly made work of a few piles of dust while the Maester pulls lenses from his device and cleans them off.

"Hmm, Maester Luwin?" Kayin called out as she noticed there wasn't any sort of organization to the way the books were situated. She briefly tried to remember the exact manner of how the dewey decimal system worked, but then tossed that aside in favor of something similar but simpler. She continued dusting all the same, since it wasn't like it required every fiber of her attention. "By any chance, have you thought of rearranging the library a bit? I know a way it could be done so it is easier for folks to find the books that might interest them."

His eyes widen and he freezes as you mention organizing his collection. The man looks about the books and manuscripts as he ponders it over before finally sighing. "With people coming by from King's Landing...I guess it can't be helped. I'll need you to explain exactly how you plan to organize things before I can fully approve of it though." There is still some trepidation on the old man's face as you notice him fiddle with one of the pockets lining the insides of his sleeves. Ashlynn gives you a quizzical look. "Didn't take you for the musty old tomes type, but if you're going to do something like that, I wouldn't want to be left out."
