Spoiler (click to show/hide):
That was supposed to be the handler squealing, and Rebecca's father pulling strings made of money.
Having gotten a few blocks away in the thick traffic, it seems like whatever sting they've got planned isn't going to be working. Most of the cops stop at least two blocks away from the safehouse, and begin cordoning off the area. Few if any of them proceed further in before they begin to secure a very large perimeter, presumably while they wait for SWAT or whoever else they've got on tap to kick the doors. Slipping away quietly by doing little more than rubber necking before making a turn, you slip away into the night before they can do anything.
Finally, you've gotten most of the way away, and you can begin to do your damn job. Rebecca is quiet as she lets you lead the way.
