Bio: Raalis's birth was a complicated affair. On the one hand, born to the queen and blessed by his people's main deity Selyssah, and thus destined to rule. On the other born male in a matriarchal society born in the shadow of his eldest sister. Her mother decided to conceal his gender and raise him as if he was a girl, naming him the crowned princess. With that said he couldn't be tamed so simply, and was viewed as a 'tomboy' playing pranks on the maids and running around the palace. As he grew up he did become more controlled and focused in his action, channeling his energy into practicing his holy magic and directing his desire for adventure to explore the capital city, befriending the people.
As he came of age his mother announced that she wished to abstain in three years, and due to the highly divided opinion among the court of which one of the siblings should inherit the crown, the queen decided to allow the court to vote when the time expired in order to avoid any violence.
The entire court was in shock as your mother announced she would step down, and allow her heir to ascend in her place, but it was even more shocked when she announced that the court itself would choose her actual heir. You and your sister, Calamaya, stood beside her, but you had certainly not known anything about this announcement. You could only hazard a guess at what your sister may have known beforehand, but knowing your mother, she would not have shared anything with her and left you in the dark. Still, your sister looked immensely confident when you glanced across at her.
Your mother had saved the announcement for late in the day apparently planning to end court for the day leaving the various nobles to mull it over before bombarding her with questions. Still, many in the court would probably have much to say to your mother both publicly and privately in the coming days. As your mother's exited the chambers, the rest of the court shuffled out. "Well little 'sister', it seems we are now in direct competition for the throne. May the best 'woman' win." The implication of how she stressed certain words wasn't lost on you. Even with the blessing of Selyssah convincing many to accept the first King in Winterfell's history would be no mean feat, and even those who backed you now might balk when the truth came to light.
