Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The nation of Lolistan was recently formed on a newly-discovered land mass in the middle of the ocean. The land mass, when inspected, tested as the oldest continent in the world, yet satellite images showed the occupied area to have previously been the Bermuda Triangle. Despite this strange finding, the land mass was quickly populated and declared itself an independent nation, before quickly overtaking every other nation in technology. This record-setting growth and economic development garnered the nation of Lolistan respect from across the globe as well as a healthy dose of fear and conspiracy theories. Despite quickly climbing to the highest place on the totem pole, Lolistan remains peaceful, and has yet to be involved in any wars.

This peace, however, wouldn’t last. Not due to war with another nation, but because of strange fog that started appearing seemingly randomly in areas around the nation. Most living organisms when within the gas for too long become strange and terrifying monsters. The transformation varies drastically for each organism with no consistent results. These monsters started wreaking havoc on the cities of Lolistan, causing groups to form which hunted these monsters, called “Mist Hunters”, that sought to protect the people from the denizens of the fog.
Almost a year after the fog was first sighted, the Lolistan government formed its own Mist Hunters, called “Project O.V.E.R.” and subsequently made all other Mist Hunter organizations completely illegal. Despite the short operational time, the Mist Hunter groups discovered key information; Sunglasses improve vision in the mist and protect the wearer’s eyes from the mist’s innate burning sensation, and as well as offering protection against the bright flashes that occur from converging mist. The second thing that was discovered by the Mist Hunters was that a very small number of people, upon killing a mist creature, were capable of absorbing that creature and gaining its power. This power would eventually become exhausted if used too frequently.

The general populace soon took to calling the OVER units “Buckets” in reference to their full-face metal helmets, and took to calling those who could absorb the powers of Mist Monsters “Chains” for their ability to “Link” with the powers of defeated monsters, which led to calling their harnessed abilities “Links” in reference to how they become part of the Chain.

Despite, or because of, Mist Hunting being illegal for anyone other than the Buckets, a mysterious organization started incentivizing people to hunt Mist Creatures in secret. Contact isn’t necessary, as seemingly only a few moments after a Mist Creature is dispatched, an appropriate amount of the “Loli-Coin” (otherwise known as Image)

will be immediately sent to the Hunter’s wallet, making Mist hunting far more profitable than most alternatives. Some individuals claim, while vehemently denying that they are secretly Mist Hunters, that there’s a way to take on special missions to fight specific Mist Monsters in order to gain even larger amounts of Loli-Coin.

Setting:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

This RP's setting is modern in places other than the Nation that the players will be starting in, while being more advanced in the Nation being focused on. For the general aesthetic of Lolistan, think of Necron structures from Warhammer 40K, crossed with Gothic architecture. Vehicles and structures are now powered with a sort of green-colored energy that serves as a more powerful alternative renewable fuel source, called Loliphyom, and vehicles generally are dark-colored with dynamic designs and sharp edges. The people of Lolistan prize flare and eccentricity even in their day to day fashion, though this does have the tendency to lead to a lot of belts, and instead of the usual form of cursing, they instead curse by saying the names of famous painters. People also generally refer to each other as "Brother" or "Sister" unless they're trying to be rude.

This sort of behavior is very common in Lolistan, however there is a lot of diversity in dialect, so one should not assume that this behavior is a universal constant throughout Lolistan.(TL;DR NPCs will act this way, however I don't want you to feel obligated to force your character to fit this description.)

Weapon:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Circulating the black markets is a strange Biomechanical device which resembles Mercury in the sense that it’s metallic and liquid at the same time. This device, however, is capable of shapeshifting into any object that it consumes, mimicking the object down to even the smallest detail, and when purchased, it comes with the capability of transforming into a select accessory and a weapon of the player’s choice. This entity also has its own personality and knows the english language, allowing it to carry intelligent conversation with the owner. The device’s only limitation is that it cannot transform into complex objects, organic objects, or objects which are too large for its body mass.

Rather than collecting stronger weapons, the player’s relationship with their Biomechanical weapon is what determines how effective it is in battle. With each relationship level that the weapon gains, its weapon dice will improve. Relationship can be improved by feeding the weapon, keeping its mood at max, and holding friendly conversation with it. Your Weapon has five mood levels:

Full Synchro: This means that your weapon is completely synchronized with the wielder, and knows exactly what they are doing, when they want to do it. While in this state, the player’s weapon dice is duplicated.
Happy: This means that your weapon is completely feeling the flow, and is operating at maximum efficiency, giving it +25% Status Chance, and the +25% Dexterity bonus from the previous mood.
Content: Your weapon has no complaints, but also couldn’t find anything to complain about. In this state, your weapon grants +25% Dexterity to attacks which use it.
Indifferent: Your weapon isn’t content, but isn’t bothered enough to complain right now. In this state, your weapon gains no buffs or debuffs.
Slightly Perturbed: Your weapon could point to any number of things that bother it slightly, and may be making it known right now. Your weapon may try to grope your character during or outside of battle.
Annoyed: Your weapon is very upset. Your weapon as a chance to try to grapple and molest the user during and outside of battle.
Berserk: When your weapon reaches this state, its personality is completely overwritten and it rapes the player. Upon successfully raping the player, the weapon returns to the Indifferent State and regains its normal personality.

Feeding your weapon, letting your weapon do lewd things to you, and victory in battle all improve the mood of your weapon. Similarly, not being fed at regular intervals, not speaking to it for long durations(Three posts), or losing a battle, all cause your weapon’s mood to drop by one level.

Relationship level starts at 1 and increases by .1 for each time the player feeds it while Indifferent or Content and .3 each time the player allows it to lewd them(Up to twice per-day). The relationship level determines how strong the Biomechanical weapon’s dice is, each level raising its strength, capping at 7.

7: 1d8
6: 1d7
5: 1d6
4: 1d5
3: 1d4
2: 1d3
1: 1d2

During battle, the weapon can be transformed once per-turn before attacking. While the weapon is taking the form of a melee weapon, it passively grants the player the ability to move +1 space if it would put an enemy into attack range. While taking the form of a ranged weapon, the attack dice is reduced by d1(To a minimum of d2) and the player gains the ability to attack an extra time, once per-turn, if their first attack misses.

Combat:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Combat takes place on a grid, which characters move around for a specific amount of spaces, given in their stats. Diagonal Movement and attacking starts by taking 1 move or distance, then increases to 2 for each additional diagonal space. Each attack has range listed in the stats. Attacks described at being connected to the character, such as slashing a sword or thrusting a spear, are considered melee, while attacks which launch or fire a projectile are considered ranged.

Melee
1: Attacker: Dexterity + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Hit Roll
2: Defender: Agility + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Evade Roll
3A: If Hit Roll > Evade Roll, determine damage: Weapon Dice+Strength-Constitution=Damage
3B: If attack is Critical: Weapon Diceroll*2+Strength=Damage
4: If Hit < Evade, attack misses.
5: If Hit = Evade, attack is a Glancing Blow.

Ranged
1: Attacker: Dexterity + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Hit Roll
2: Defender: Agility + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Evade Roll
3A: If Hit Roll > Evade Roll, determine damage: Weapon Dice+Precision-Constitution=Damage
3B: If attack is Critical: Weapon Diceroll*2+Precision=Damage
4: If Hit < Evade, attack misses.
5: If Hit = Evade, attack is a Glancing Blow.

Abilities
1: Attacker: Intelligence + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Hit Roll
2: Defender: Agility + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Evade Roll
3A: If Hit Roll > Evade Roll, determine damage: Intelligence-Wisdom=Damage
3B: If attack is Critical: Intelligence*2+Precision=Damage
4: If Hit < Evade, attack misses.
5: If Hit = Evade, attack is successful.

Charisma
1: Initiator: Charisma + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Initiation Roll
2: Resistor: Charisma + [Modifiers influencing hit] + 1d20=Resolve Roll
3: If Initiation Roll is equal to or higher than Resolve Roll, the check is a success. If Resolve Roll is higher, the Initiation is a failure. Characters cannot be seduced into harming themselves, giving up their equipped items, giving up their money, or giving up items for free.

Detection
1: Initiator: Perception + [modifiers influencing detection check] + 1d20 Diceroll=Detection
2: Target: Dexterity + [Modifiers influencing hide check] + 1d20 Diceroll=Stealth
3: If Detection roll > Stealth roll, initiator is successful and Stealthed target is now fully visible. If Stealth wins the Detection check failed.

Movement and Sprinting:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

A character can move 1 space for every 10 Agility they have(Minimum 1). A character can move an extra space for every 5 Agility(Minimum 1) they have if they Sprint instead of attacking or Guarding.

Critical:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

When a unit rolls a natural 20 for an attack, the hit is guaranteed and the Weapon Damage rolled is doubled, then the attack’s status effect, if applicable, is guaranteed. If the attack does not have a status effect, the status becomes Impact.

Natural 20s for other rolls mean the attempted action is immediately successful, however if both participants roll a natural 20, the higher roll is the successful roll.

Stealth:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

A character can enter stealth by using certain skills. While a character is Stealthed, other characters within the area[Outside of battle] or who have that character within their ZOC will roll Perception Checks to detect that character. Once a character successfully detects the stealthed character, that character immediately becomes visible to all other characters on the battlefield. Attacking while Stealthed results in the attack gaining +25% Dexterity, a +1 Crit modifier.

Cover:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

On some maps, there will be obstacles to turn into cover. Based on the substance that the object is made of, those obstacles will have an HP value, and the player hiding behind that object gains a second Defense Check, in the form of a Cover Check. The Cover Check only applies to ranged attacks, and will be rolled first. If successful, the cover check will cause the enemy’s attack to strike the cover instead.

Guard:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

A character may choose not to attack on their turn, in which case they can Guard. Guarding restores 10% of a character’s HP and Stamina, cures status effects, and reduces incoming damage by 50%. A character that is guarding turns incoming critical hits into standard hits.

ZOC:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Zone of Control, or ZOC, determines how far ability effects that affect other characters in battle reach. This range starts at 1, and increases by 1 for every 3 Wisdom.

Pressure:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Pressure is a separate control area that matches a character’s melee range when they have a melee weapon. Enemies within that melee area have their movement range reduced to 1.

Determination:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Each time a character misses an attack, that character gains a “Determination” Stack. Each Determination Stack grants +1 Dexterity. If that character lands an attack while they have Determination Stacks, all Determination Stacks are consumed.

Name: Lilithania Loliata
Player: Littlemankitten
Appearance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Gender: Female
Age: 18
Occupation: Heir to a energy company
Background: Lilithania has led a completely privileged life. She was born as the daughter to the CEO of one of Lolistan's leading energy producers, and thus was one of the richest people in the nation. Comfort and luxury was brought upon her with a silver platter, and no one dared lay a finger on her without her families permission. All but the most highly influential criminal would even dare to think about setting their eyes on her. She was raised with the ideal of succeeding the CEO of the company, and was given a very comprehensive and in depth education, especially when it came to the energy that powered everything in the nation. She had a younger sister as well raised with the same intent, should either prove more competent over the other. While this seemed like cause for a sibling rivalry of epic proportions, Lilithania and her sister actually became quite close, uncaring of the responsibility being placed upon them. They did practically everything together, and seemed inseparable to an outside eye. They had even planned to rig the system so that they'd both have equal control over the company after their fathers passing, not that either particularly wanted to own the company, having much different aspirations for their lives, with Lilithania wanting to explore what the world had to offer, and her sister being a hopeless romantic with aspirations of love taken straight from a cheesy fairytale.
Personality: To those she likes, Lilithania is a decently pleasant person to be around, being kind but frequently seeming rude with little filter for what she says, though she means well she can come across as a bitch. To strangers or those she dislikes, she is straight up a bitch. She has a very holier-than-thou attitude and could generally care less about what you want unless it'd either suit her own needs or they catch her eye. She is also quite stubborn, and won't back down from getting what she wants after the first, second, or even third failure often, unless she realizes that she is completely unable to early on which is rare.
Skills: Energy physics, gaining connections, stubbornness
Most Significant Individual: Lilithania's sister, Annette. Annette and Lilithania grew up together to be the heirs of a energy company, and while their father planned for them to be competitive and see which would be better than the other for the task, they ended up being closer than he anticipated. Much like Lilithania, Annette was quite the bitch to most people, but for those she cared about she'd go through hell and high water to protect and satisfy them. While their personalities were similar, Annette was much more of a romantic, always daydreaming of the perfect guy, girl, or whatever thing she found on the internet to sweep her away towards happiness.

Name: Galatea Lowell
Player: MiscChaos
Appearance
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Gender: Female
Age: 25
Occupation: Entrepreneur (Odd Jobs)

Background: Galatea didn’t have a normal upbringing per say. Her childhood consisted of a set of parents who couldn’t keep a Loli-coin in their pocket to save their lives in their harebrained schemes to get rich and borrowing money from disreputable sources to try again. When they failed to pay one loaner back, they would take the money they borrowed and what little change they made using it and set themselves up in a different part of the country out of their sphere of influence. Galatea has had so many names that she honestly lost track of them. She doesn’t even remember if Galatea is the name she was born with or if it’s merely the alias that she liked the most. She’d ask her parents, but, well, last time she saw them was when she was 13 and their latest scheme was selling their developing daughter’s body for what amounted to change. While the authorities didn’t care about their endangerment of a child while it was just a shitty home life, they apparently drew the line at selling her body so they were taken into custody. Given the amount of loan sharks after them at that point, that was probably preferable than any alternative.

That did leave Galatea with the small problem of how to provide for herself since the pigs really only cared about the prostitution part of child prostitution. The child herself, not so much. With 13 years of moving around behind her, she got good at talking to people, making new friends in a strange new place and charming adults for food or some such thing. She put those skills to use, picking up what jobs she could. It could be helping someone move some furniture here, it could be running interference for a drug deal over there. So long as it paid well and didn’t involve some idiot pawing at her body, she at least considered it. The missteps of her parents did leave some scars behind after all. The idea of some stranger having their way with her made her leery and she resolved to avoid it if at all possible.

And this is what made up her life for the next few years. Between jobs, she’d pick up some books so she never fell too far behind in the education department and she’d learn new skills she could peddle for a more jobs. In this way she actually earned more money than her parents ever did with their schemes and began to live a comfortable life. When she was 17, she met her future wife, Lily Ito. Lily took what was a one woman operation and turned it into a company. She took the comfortable amount Galatea made and turned it into a small fortune through smart investments and careful saving. More than that, she gave Galatea something she never knew she was missing: someone who actually cared for her and wanted the best for her. Galatea still regrets wasting 4 years before marrying Lily. In her opinion, she really should have done it damn near immediately.

Nowadays, Galatea doesn’t really have to do much. The “Low L Handyman Co” makes its money without much needed from her besides occasional input or when she’s personally requested. She’s mostly fallen back to living with her wife and being happy to spend every moment with her.

Personality: Galatea is a cool, collected individual. Most times out of not, her actions have been carefully considered for quite a bit of time before she commits to them. There are few things that can penetrate her shell of zen, her wife being one of them. Around Lily, Galatea becomes significantly warmer and almost flirtatious. She is rather personable, a legacy of her time chatting up random strangers for information or what jobs she could find. It currently translates into a being viewed as a boss that, while rather by her books, is well liked for her interactions with her employees. She is also a physical person, so she draws comfort from touch, a fact Lily “suffers” from most often.

Skills: Chatting with others, picking up new skills, working long periods of time

Most Significant Individual: Lily Lowell (née Ito)
Lily is Galatea’s wife, married to her for 4 years. They met 8 years ago when Lily, uncharacteristically, literally ran into Galatea while rushing to her local community college’s classes. Galatea was fixing the wiring in a hallway and Lily was running late and didn’t notice Galatea’s ladder until it was far too late. After all the crashing and pain, Galatea had ended up on top of Lily, keeping the ladder from falling on her face. “Eh, I can take a hit better than most” was Galatea’s explanation when Lily asked why. It wasn’t enough for them to start dating, but it did stick Galatea in her mind. Up to that point, she could only have described her life as “dull”. Boring, safe parents in a boring, safe neighborhood going to a bunch of boring, safe schools and going to a boring, safe college for a boring, safe career in computers. In her safe, boring life, anyone else would have been more concerned with making sure they weren’t harmed than keeping others from harm. It stuck out in her head enough that it began to bother her. But no one really seemed to know who the woman she bumped into was. She wasn’t part of the staff, she wasn’t part of some bigger company, she wasn’t a friend of a faculty member doing them a favor. It took a while to find out Galatea was just a contractor and “obtain” her contact information in what was probably the first unsafe thing she had done in her life.

It took 3 months after that to work up the nerve to call the number she got. She almost hung up in fear when the words “Galatea Lowell, whatever you need done, I can do!” came across the line. Then she frantically tried to think of something to say, not having the forethought to have come up with something beforehand. Her panic evolved when she heard Galatea sigh and complain about prank calls and knew she was running out of time. In a moment of rash decision, she blurted out that she noticed Galatea had no internet presence and offered her services in fixing that. A brief bout of haggling later where Lily made up figures as she went, and they had entered into a partnership. Lily would establish a website and give Galatea an internet presence in exchange of 40% of all profits the site funneled to her. Galatea didn’t really have a problem giving that much since she figured “Well, I wasn’t gonna reach those people without you anyway, so that’s pretty much a 100% profit in my books.” Their partnership evolved from there until, in another one of her panicked moments, she asked Galatea on a date about 6 months after they had met. She almost took it back when she saw the shock on Galatea’s face, but held her resolve until the other woman figured out she wasn’t joking and agreed. She knew she had a crush on Galatea before the date. Afterwards, she was fairly certain she was in love.

Her boring, safe life style splintered very quickly afterward. She dropped out of college to support Galatea’s career full time, got into a series of fights with her parents over the risks she was taking, which culminated into being thrown out of the family home. Galatea took Lily into her home immediately afterwards. She thought she couldn’t be happier with life after that, but Galatea proved her wrong when she got down one on knee and popped the question. With no family on Galatea’s side and no family speaking to her on Lily’s the wedding was a small affair made up of the various people Galatea made friends with over the years. It was more than enough for Lily. From there, she went about making sure she could spend as much time around Galatea as possible. Her wife spent what she felt like too much time working, so she invested her money until she could create a business, and turned a handywoman into a company of people. The workload on Galatea decreased more and more as those she hired became more and more capable until Galatea could spend 5 or 6 days a week at home. Lily’s still thinking of ways to cut that down even further, but in the end she is very happy with where she is now. Especially after her parents came crawling back and she got to watch Galatea rip them a new one for daring to abandon Lily in the first place.

Lily is a rather shy individual, her former, boring lifestyle not doing much to instill her with confidence or much of a sense of self vs. a cog in a machine. Since she began dating Galatea, she became a bit more forceful with her wants and learned that what she loves, she loves fiercely enough that she’d do anything to keep them close and happy. She is also quite attention starved which, when combined with Galatea’s touch based sense of comfort, means she’s generally very happy when around her wife who wants to do nothing but lavish her with affection when they’re around each other.

Loveless is a weapon Galatea picked up when she was 15, still very embittered by the way her relationship with her parents ended and trying desperately not to show it to her clients. Loveless was the way she felt about how her life was going and so that’s what she named her weapon. The best way for Galatea to describe Loveless would be as “a caring mother bear who also just so happens to have a thirst for blood”. Loveless filled the position of mother figure for Galatea, listening to her concerns and offering advice or just soothing her hurts. She also made sure Galatea was reminded of doing things like eating regularly, bathing and going through routine when depression hit, carving her enemies to small enough chunks that identifying them was difficult. The important things. It’s because of Loveless that Galatea is as sane as she is today and Galatea loves her weapon like part of the family.

Name: Gwendolyn Datchery
Player: Blue56
Appearance:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Image

Gender: Female
Age: 22
Occupation: Bodyguard
Background: Gwendolyn never knew her father, she was told he was lost to the mist a few years after she was born. Because of this, her mother Sonja left her job in local law enforcement and signed up for Project O.V.E.R. as one of their "Buckets", both to earn more to support the two of them and to help ensure there would be no other victims. Her mother worked long hours, and so Gwendolyn spent a lot of time on her own from a very young age and had to learn to be self sufficient, taking care of some of the housework and cooking after school to help ease her mother's burden. One day, while she was doing a little studying before she had to get dinner ready, she overheard a commotion in the alley next to her apartment. Looking outside, Gwendolyn saw some older neighborhood boys that seemed to be bullying a girl around her own age. She didn't hesitate to get involved, Sonja had taught her some self defense techniques, and with the element of surprise, Gwendolyn managed to drive them off. The girl was named Aila Yardley, and apparently she lived in the same apartment complex, though Gwen had never seen her at school before. Gwen invited Aila up to her apartment to take care of what few injuries she had, and though she didn't get to interact with many kids her own age outside of school, the two became fast friends. Aila was still there when Sonja got home from another long shift, and seeing the two children having fun together, insisted Aila stayed for dinner, something that would become a nightly ritual. Aila wouldn't talk about her circumstances, and nobody pressed her on it, but it was clear she was on her own. Having another mouth to feed, even only for an extra meal a day, was difficult, but the three of them were happy together for years to come.

Gwendolyn was 16 when her mother stopped coming home. She was used to Sonja being gone for a few days at a time, but this was a bit much, and a week had gone by before she received a simple letter informing her that her mother was MIA and nothing more than that. Gwendolyn was devastated. Her mother was her hero, she had always strove to be like Sonja in all aspects of her life, and nothing was more painful than seeing her hero fall. One might think that losing both parents to the mist would deter her from following in Sonja's footsteps, but once her mourning was over, Gwendolyn was more determined than ever to join OVER. Her mother had given her life to the cause of protecting people, and who better than Gwendolyn herself to take up the mantle after all. Reality wasn't so kind as that though, with no one to provide for her, Gwendolyn had to drop out of school and start working. Her self taught cooking skills made her a natural for working in restaurants, but she preferred to take on work in security when she could as it was closer to her ideal profession. Jobs like that were hard to come by for someone who was still basically a child however. Aila offered Gwendolyn a few jobs through connections she had, but once Gwendolyn realized the income was from a less than reputable source, she refused.

After some time, it became clear that uncompromising morals weren't going to get her where she wanted however. She had applied to OVER many times but never received a response. Desperate for some experience under her belt, Gwendolyn took Aila up on her offer, with a few conditions. She would work as a bodyguard for some of Aila's shadier acquaintances, so long as she wasn't asked to bear witness or take part in illegal activity, and she would rough up anyone who attacked her clients, but she wouldn't kill or maim them. She may have been more difficult to work with, but her skills were undeniable and she had a number of repeat customers as she eagerly awaited a positive response from OVER.
Personality: Gwendolyn is a straight laced and serious woman. She constantly strives to be as strong and kind as her mother was. She's stubborn and has a strong sense of right and wrong. Though her values were once uncompromising, her circumstances and Aila's influence have worn her down into accepting things she previously could not. Gwendolyn has noticed this, and it visibly frustrates her at times. Despite this, she can't deny that the experience has given her a sort of street smarts that she had previously lacked.
Skills: Cooking, protecting others, nonlethal takedowns
Most Significant Individual: Aila Yardley - childhood friend

Aila's parents were the lowest of the low. Drug addicts that would have sold her for their next fix if they thought they could get away with it. They borrowed and borrowed from all the wrong people to support their habits, and once the local gang realized they were never getting what they owed, they put Aila's parents down and turned to the child to try to recoup some of their losses. She was put to work running packages, she didn't need to peek to know she was running drugs, it was easy work and a child would often look less suspicious than adults. Two wretched local boys seemed to be on to her however, and would often give Aila trouble when they spotted her. One lost package would seal her fate, so one day Aila brought a knife with her and when they blocked her path through the alley this time, she was prepared to gut them like pigs. Before she could act however, Gwendolyn appeared and fended them off with a quick and effective surprise attack, then dragged Aila up to her apartment for safety. Aila couldn't understand it, no one had ever showed her kindness before, let alone risking their own safety for her. It wasn't until Sonja came home that Aila started to see why Gwendolyn could act as valiantly as she had. Sonja's kind and bright nature inspired even Aila to be better. She actually felt ashamed that she had been about to stab two boys over a drug deal. Though she couldn't just cut ties to the gang her parents had indebted her to, she started to take more honest work from them even if it meant it would take longer to work off her debt.

Sonja's disappearance devastated Aila almost as much as it did Gwendolyn. It showed her that even the brightest light in her life could be extinguished. If this was all that awaited her for trying to live an honest life, than why even bother? This thought almost sent her spiraling back into her life of crime, but Gwendolyn's determination to follow in her mother's footsteps kept her honest. Mostly. Aila knew that Gwendolyn would never accept her if she knew what Aila had done and was continuing to do, but she also couldn't deny that she just felt like she belonged in Lolistan's underworld. Once her debt was paid and she had some savings, Aila opened Paradise Lost, a nightclub that welcomed underworld types without directly aiding or affiliating with them. There, she could stay independent, but interconnected with the underworld. A neutral ground, a safe haven of sorts. The connections she built here would be useful not only to herself, but to Gwendolyn as well, even though Aila didn't agree with the direction she was moving in, she still would do her utmost to support her.

Aila puts up a carefree and easy going persona that masks some of her more cold and calculating tendencies. Her natural charisma makes her well liked, helped by the fact that while she doesn't ingratiate herself to people, she does go out of her way to never get on anyone's bad side. She has a great deal of admiration, and perhaps a hint of romantic affection that she'd never dare admit, for Sonja and Gwendolyn, she recognizes that she can never be like them and so doesn't even try. Though she's well aware that the gangs that frequent her club ruin lives like her own and her parents, she doesn't particularly mind that. Aila sees such things as necessary facts of life and believes she is genuinely being helpful when she involves Gwendolyn with such groups.

Belial's voice and tone ooze seduction and almost every sentence she speaks somehow ends up being an innuendo or double entendre. Being paired with such a straightforward and honest owner is a source of never ending frustration for Belial who seems to only think about sex and deception. The pair are almost constantly bickering, but when the time to fight comes, they are able to swiftly put those differences aside and work effectively as a team. Gwendolyn swears she would have thrown Belial away ages ago if she weren't so useful, but those who know them and their prowess liken them to an old married couple.

Background: tl;dr, she's an orphan that got in crime, shot her boyfriend, then fled to lolistan and went back into crime
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Angie Santiago is not a native of Lolistan. She was born and raised in the wonderful city of Trenton, a place where crime and violence was commonplace and gangs ruled the streets. Growing up in a place like that was dangerous. You could learn a lot about a lot of things and really get to know how people work. You'll see things most of the population wouldn't even dream of seeing on the streets, from dead bodies in dumpsters, to men trading women like dolls, then there's police brutality and families getting torn apart... but honestly, for all the bad there is, you can survive well enough if you just keep your head down and stay out of bad places. The streets are tough. Don't go out at night, stick to the rules, and just try to get out soon as you can. Ultimately, people are all people. No one will bother you if you ain't making waves.

At a young age, Angie had that etched into her heart through experience. She grew up in a catholic orphanage called "St. Audina" in New Jersey as one of ten orphans, and life as a young orphan wasn't easy. The attenders there were all mostly ambivalent caregivers who cared more for keeping them in line than actually being a loving guardian, so as a result, many of the orphans weren't the kindest and mostly kept to themselves. The differences in ages also meant that she mostly met friends in public school, though even those weren't the best of allies, and her small group of friends didn't amount to much when the rest of her life, she felt, was spent in misery. At most times you'd see Angie, she had a dull look about her, and the other times she was either crying or nearly crying about this or that—she'd been sensitive, and even though Angie strove to toughen up to face the harsh world she lived in, that sensitivity would never truly fade.

Flash a few years into the future. An older, smarter Angie is trying to make ends meet. When you all but live alone in the asphalt jungle, you get on the grind early or you get stomped out. Naturally, she first turned to legitimate means to make a dollar. Work at the nearby McDonald's, or try retail... but minimum wage wasn't enough. And when the orphanage learned that she was working? The attenders took that as a sign to make her pay rent since she was "maturing into an adult," so they had to "foster her development and understanding." It was bullshit, but all she could do was sink deeper into the grind to try to pay them off her back. She worked two jobs at the age of 15—McDonald's and the local supermarket. Neither were paying well, and the supermarket was actually undercutting her below minimum wage because she was technically a "helper" and not an actual worker since she was underage. More bullshit. More bad deals made to fuck her over. She'd finally gotten sick out of after a year of nonstop grinding till she dropped. Her supermarket got robbed while she was on job, and guess who took the blame for it despite being held at gunpoint?

They just wanted to fully cut her off. She was the extra who wasn't even on official payroll... but that worked for her. She hated them! No one even liked that old shop and her coworkers were all asses. That's what Angie told herself at night so she could sleep better. She really needed it because by this point, a whole month had gone by without her paying rent, so the orphanage decided to take her bed and have her sleep on the floor... life sucked. Back then, those were her darkest times. What's a girl to do to get out of them? Get into drug dealing, but only as a peddler. She had conditions. Anyone stupid enough to walk into the world of crime and not have a few reservations about it? They'd just fall down the cracks. They'd get on the inside, and that's where all the gang activity was. Where you could get shot in a shootout, blast someone in a drive-by, get caught by cops or some other dangerous stint... or, at least, that's what Angie thought. She also thought that she was one of the smart ones who'd just stick to peddling and stay out of the limelight. That she could play the game but not get caught up.

On both accounts, Angie Santiago was wrong.

When she was 19, she'd been deep enough in a gang to have a relationship with the boss's son. Smuggling was still her usual day-to-day around this time, but she helped make the deals now, too, and she knew how to make some of the product. Living life as a gangster... wasn't what she expected. It was less violence and death and more people tryna make a quicker buck and stay loyal. Yeah, they had rivalries, but not everyone was jumping at the chance to kill, most certainly not the boss of the gang. She could remember all the fun times she spent with them. The days (and nights) she spent alone with her lover, the times of action when they'd have a run-in with the law, and the rush of adrenaline from putting your life on the line... in a way, she'd come to love her life. It was still dangerous. No doubt, some day, it'd end in an early death or life behind bars, but so what? Everyone's gotta die sometime. If she was gonna get there with the only few people in the world she cared for and who cared for her, what was the problem?

BANG! ... But it'd all end with the quickness of a gunshot. At the age of 20, Angie Santiago had a violent falling out with Lucas Dasilva. Both weren't thinking straight, both were getting far too caught up in the heat of the moment, one was intoxicated... and both were armed. It was all an accident. Just a spur of the moment threat that was taken seriously, and... well, someone pulled the trigger. Then someone pulled after.

It was over. Angie could remember the exact moment she stood over the body, her hands still shaking from the recoil of her gun... she'd tossed it aside. The shot struck him in the gut. He could live! He got hit in his lung and he was drowning in his own blood, but he would live if she... if she moved quick enough! Yet all she did was watch the light leave his eye. Fear had gripped her heart, after all. Lucas was loved by the family. He was the boss's son... how would she survive when she broke their trust? She broke the code? They wouldn't let her off with it. Maybe she wouldn't die, yes, but whatever they'd do to her... she knew the gang back and front. It would scar her. Ruin her life even if they were going soft, and all because... of one, drunken fight. Needless to say, Angie packed up and ran. What the hell else was she supposed to do?! Lucas was dying. She probably couldn't get help fast enough to save him, right? So even if it hurt, there's no point in her dying after coming all this way! She took her money, her gun, a pack of clothes, her passport, and the keys to his car. She lifted his cash off him too, and tried to hide any evidence that could've pointed to her to at least buy her some time to get away, all while Lucas called out her name with an agonized voice. She had to ignore it. Ignore it, ignore it, ignore it... and keep going.

Her plan was formed pretty quickly. There was a new country formed... wasn't there? The gang she was in was pretty big. They had a lot of reach and influence... but a new country is new territory. She could hide out there. Change her name! Become a local, and... keep her head down. Angie finalized her play and fled the scene. She got in Lucas' car, she drove off to the airport, and she got on the first flight out of America. Then... to Lolistan. Angie Santiago took the name of Audina Falcone. She started working as a legitimate worker, landing a decent job in retail in a nicer neighborhood. Audina kept her head down, stayed on the straight and narrow, and never turned back to crime.

That is exactly what did not happen. Sure, she was still working retail, and her new job was alright? But there was something about the criminal lifestyle... that just kept calling her back. Audina found herself getting involved in Lolistan's criminal underbelly. She gathered the resources to form her own supply and started dealing narcotics. Through that little connection, she got deeper in with the local crime world as an anonymous smuggler. This time, she'd be safer. This time she wouldn't get in so deep. Stay distant. Stay alone.

... She'd been conditioned to this lifestyle now, and Audina was only getting started.

Personality: Audina is a surprisingly optimistic and happy-go-lucky person. She tries to keep her head up in just about every situation, she likes to have fun, and she just likes to be chill about things! Still, as kind as Audina could be? She grew up an orphan in a harsh and unforgiving city—by no means is the woman naive or weak to danger. She's nice, but if she thought she had to kill someone, the smuggler wouldn't think twice or so much as bat an eye at pulling the trigger. The law of the jungle was survival. It was keep your head down, and stay alive. She might be nice but that's what's ingrained in her. That being said, she's also a starkly lonely woman with regret after regret weighing her down. To this day, she wonders if she could've lived a better life if she never got involved with crime and tried to stay on the straight and narrow. Maybe she would've been happier if she saved Lucas instead of turned tail and ran... but it's not long before she distracts those woes with a bottle of booze or something else to drown her sorrows in. Audina would not call herself an addict, buuut...

Skills: Smooth talking, sneaking around, improvising

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Bitch
Personality: Bitch is very much not as his name would suggest. He's your typical happy, cheerful dog that barked at the mailmen and chased his tail. A real big ole' pup! Though, he's got his own unique traits in his highly clumsy nature yet surprising intellect. As a German Shepherd, Bitch has a very adept nose and can locate specific smells pretty easy, making drug detection a piece of cake. He's been trained to know what a good product is. He knows the smells of Audina's usual customers, and he knows how to dodge a trap and still get the cash. His largest weakness would truly have to be the fact that he would always make a mess of things in some way... maybe he just likes to get dirty? Audina suspects he does it on purpose.

Backstory: Audina first met Bitch a few months after settling into her new neighborhood in Lolistan. The dog was just a stray digging into her trash can, and after chasing him off about three times, she finally decided... why not? And just took the little bastard in. It so turned out that Bitch was a very, VERY clumsy and incidentally messy dog, so although Audina tried to name him "Pluto," she ended up shouting "You BITCH!" more often than referring to him by name. So... the name just stuck. Now Bitch is Bitch.

After some time, Audina was able to train Bitch a little more to be something of a half decent guard dog and a delivery dog. He's involved in her operations as she sometimes supplies certain customers through him. Why? Because she thought it'd be an awesome idea, for one, and also so she could still work her retail job on the side. The dog was very uniquely intelligent, so he was pretty capable of basic tasks such as taking a package and moving it somewhere, then moving another package to another place. If in the case any danger happened? He knew to get out of it right quick and rush home.

Name: Robin
Personality: Despite being named after Batman's iconic sidekick, Audina's Robin is a far more crass and generally nervous wreck of a sidekick that is notably malfunctioning and capable of random bursts of depression. He acts as a foil to Audina's hot-blooded recklessness and positive energy. He's always thinking the worst of situations could come to pass, and at the blink of an eye, he's ready to get on his knees and beg her to run away from anything dangerous like a literal manifestation of anxiety. Despite these cowardly traits, Robin is relatively loyal to Audina. He wouldn't think of ever abandoning her should the opportunity arise, because... where would he go? Who else would take him? He sees Audina as his only possible partner. Someone crazy enough to deal with a weapon that's constantly terrified of everything.

Robin isn't too perverted, but when he gets randy, he generally has nowhere to take out his energy and it'll make his usual erratic acts a little more erratic. He always feels bad about it, and he and Audina haven't quite reached some sort of level where she'd help him through those moods... but there have been incidents in the past. That he profusely apologizes for afterward and doesn't mention later. Lastly, in case it wasn't explicitly obvious, Robin has a severe lack of self confidence that makes him pretty unlikely to stand up for himself in most cases, but he offsets this by being generally competent with logic on the chance that you get him on board with a plan.

Gender: Female
Age: 25
Occupation: Mixed Martial Artist

Background:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

From a young age, Avery had always been interested in martial arts. Growing up outside of Lolistan, her parents enrolled her in Judo classes. From there she went on to pick up Karate, Jiu-jitsu, Wrestling and other various fighting disciples. Though because of her rather aggressive personality, Avery would often hurt her fellow students while doing simple exercised. When asked why she couldn’t hold back just a bit, she would reply “No one holds back in a real fight and walks off”.

On her 18th Birthday after placing second in an amateur MMA tournament, Avery was approached by a woman name Angelica Winters. She was a trainer and talent scout the World Fighting Organization or WFO. It was the worlds premiere mixed martial arts promotion company who hosted fights around the world. Angelica had been drawn in by Avery’s brutal style of fighting and wanted to bring her in as a new card. Not even waiting for her parent’s permission, Avery joined the WFO and started her career as a fighter.

When starting out, Avery mainly got fights in smaller venues either with other newcomers or old vets who had one foot out the door. But that changes when another fighter got sick. In a last minute card change, Avery was brought in to fight the current WFO champion, Patty ‘Bonebreaker’ Patson. Most avid followers of the MMA world expected this to be a complete blowout for the experienced champion. But Avery didn’t care about the odds and left it all out on the mat. Their fight was brutal and it looked like the young Avery might actually get a knockout. By Patty persevered and was able to win with just a few points. But the star of the night was Avery.

Quickly her stock rose in the fighting world. She received more substantial fights in bigger venues. Sponsors began to knock at her door to get her endorsement. With each win, Avery got closer and closer to her rematch with Patty for the championship. In what was widely regarded as the match of the century, Avery and Patty faced off. This time it wasn’t even close. Avery completely destroyed the Bonebreaker reducing the champion to a bloody pulp. Now the WFO champion, Avery was on top of the world. But a few days later, a drug test came in positive for steroids and other performance enhancing substances. It was a major blow to the Avery and the the MMA world. Soon other allegations came out about Avery and her trainer Angelica including illegal betting, sexual misconduct and violent altercations outside the ring. The WFO were left with no choice but to bar Avery from any sanctioned fights and fired Angelica. When it looked like no other organization would take them, Angelica reached out to one of her contacts in Lolistan hoping to get in on the fight circuit there.

Personality: Avery has a very aggressive and confrontational person. She doesn’t deal well with authority figures or middlemen. That’s why she has Angelica around. She’s quick to lose her temper and slower to cool down often leaving property damage and bruises in her wake. That isn’t to say Avery is Aggro 24/7. When not in the ring, Avery can be rather sweet.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Angelica could best be described as ruthless. A cunning and shrewd businesswoman, she had bounced around the sports entertainment world from one organization to another. In that time she gained a reputation for blackmailing, making back room deals and even trading sex for preferential treatment. But no one made a stink about it since she was bringing in the money.

Eventually she ended up at the World Fighting Organization. She was only an average trainer, but she had an eye for talent. She recruited a host of fighters with amazing potential, though with less ideal personalities. Most of her hires either burned themselves out settled as unremarkable side acts. Then she saw Avery’s brutality and knew she had a star on her hand. She recruited the fighter and worked her ass off to raise her profile. When it looked like Avery was about to plateau, Angelica reached out to a few of her friends in the pharmaceutical industry and the two agreed to a new doping regiment.

As Avery’s stock rose, so did Angelica’s. She gained status, access and power within the organization. Power which she quickly abused at every chance she got. She would spend company funds frivolously and sexually harass. There are even a few cases of alleged rape involving junior staff, though the details of those cases are restricted by a No-Disclosure Agreement.

Angelica and Avery didn’t make many friends in there time at the top, which made there fall all the more likely. Barred from most establishments, Angelica worked quickly to set up a new plan. Avery was still her meal ticket; she just had to find a place for her to fight. Angelica found it in the most unlikely place, Lolistan. Now the two live their trying to get in on the nation’s fighting scene.

Avery won the weapon in a private fight with another WFO fighter. While weapons are forbidden in WFO sanctioned fights, that doesn’t mean Avery hasn’t put Xavier to good use in street bouts. A fact Xavier wasn’t too pleased about.
Xavier is a noble soul who believed that power, of any kind should be used to protect the weak and uphold justice. Time and again he petitions Avery and Angelica to use what fortune they have to better the world. But his altruistic world view ran counter to Avery’s joy for violence for its own sake or Angelica’s business machinations. It watched in horror as Avery pumped her body full of drugs in order to gain an extra edge. But still Xavier believed that the MMA fighter could turn a new leaf and Lolistan might be the place to do it.
