Neither woman seemed ready to raise a fuss when Resealth hinted that he might like to travel a little more tonight, but both were visibly relieved when he decided to stay.
Lizzie sat down on her bed at the same time Resealth did, seeming to think nothing of it. It was a fairly comfortable and spacious bed, not quite as nice as the one Resealth had been used to at home. Of course, compared to a simple bedroll, it was a luxury. And with Lizzie’s little wood stove burning away the cold night air... It was no wonder so few souls sacrificed a life of luxury for one of heroism.
“I’m not sleeping in that thing,” Cassandra declared, grabbing her bedroll and walking away, “Who knows what kind of wilderness disease Lizzie’s been carrying around out here... I’ll sleep on this side of the room, as far away from HER as possible.”
“Fine by me,” Lizzie said, shrugging and flopping backwards to lay down on the bed. She seemed genuinely relaxed... until she noticed Resealth. “Oh! Did you want to...well, I guess you’re my guest, uh, so... If you want to, uh, I can just. Um, I know there’s another bedroll, but...” The young thief seemed a little flustered, sitting up, the laying back down, then standing up, then sitting back down... It was clear that she didn’t know what was expected of her, or even what she wanted. Obviously she would prefer to sleep in her own bed, but courtesy and a general acknowledgment that Resealth was the leader meant she knew that she should offer it to him. It was a conundrum the hero would have to sort out for her.
