Every stubborness has an end, if given the right event at the right place at the right time. Kirin, being held captive as a sex slave and being raped by multiple strangers, could come to her senses and accept the fact, that during her time as a detective, she was saved from the fate, she is experiencing now, only by a shit load of luck and an army of guardian angels. She is experiencing the consequences of ignoring other people's advices and running into dangerous situations blindfolded.

I don't know how Asella could convince Equerry into doing something good. But just giving up on that, would make the whole plot kind of meaningless. Do you have any ideas?

Well, to release Asella and maybe join her as an informant, so Equerry could finally do something for the good of the world.

He would release Asella if Valdios decides to throw her to spawns but he wouldnt betray his lord. So he would protect Asella but for informant i must say nope.

Hmm, then we're certainly stuck here. Valdios is in the city, not able to give orders, and Equerry can't be convinced.
