Champions of Lustaria (Accepting Players)

Postby Mark3000 » Sat Sep 29, 2018 3:15 am

Here it is, the long awaited MOBA RP I promised from before. I'm still working some things out but I'll post what I have so far. Just a warning. Everything here is open to change. I'm not taking player cs yet but I will take champions and suggestions.

Edit: Ok the game is now open for submissions. Everyone is free to submit ONE Player character and a max of six Champions (2 DPS, 2 Tanks, 2 Support). We'll get started once we have at least 4 players and a good roster (About 15-20) Champions. I've also set up a discord.

Champions of Lustaria

Gather ye warriors who seek the Stones of the Stars. Wonderful treasures that are said to grant the wishes of any who find them. Word of their power has spread throughout the Known Kingdoms. All seeking to claim the stones have gathered under the banner of a Grand Master to retrieve the prize.”

Champions of Lustaria popped onto the scene Five years. Created by Digital Desire, it went from a cult hit to massive success almost overnight. In this game, six players form teams of three and control their champion with the latest in fully interactive VR Technology. Together they face off in various game modes complete an objective. These range from destroying the enemy’s base to capturing the capturing the enemy’s banner to Defeating/Defending a Siege Boss.

The player count has risen past 1 Billion Active Players with matches being played online every hour of the day. Online and Local tournaments are common place. But the largest of them all is the COLcon International Invitational. Where only the best players get to fight.

World of Lustaria
Known Kingdoms (Champions either come from these locations or you can create a location for your champion to come from)
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Avalon

Often referred to as the Shining Castle On the Hill, Avalon had long been ruled by the Adonis Royal family. The kingdom is home to plentiful lakes and lush farm lands. While the land may seem peaceful, the Humans of Avalon are deeply distrustful of outsiders. Much of the land they own was gained by subjecting or exiling the native Beastlings. The Castle of Avalon itself is home to many a schemer trying to claim power.

Beast Lands (Faunalund)

Forced off their native land, the Beastlings claimed a long, disjointed section of land south of Avalon. The treacherous mountains and thick forests made it difficult for humans to enter but proves the perfect home for the Beastlings. Despite living separately, all those who live in Faunalund abide by the laws set by the Council of Fangs

The Eastern Isles

Travel to the Howling Sea and you’ll come to a land shrouded by a mysterious fog. The Eastern Isles have long fascinated outsiders for their unique aesthetics and customs. Currently the Isles are embroiled in the Sengoku Jidai or Age of Warring States as various factions attempt to unite the multiple isles under one banner.

Republic of Morytha

Once a simple collection of mining cities, the Republic of Morytha underwent a technological revolution with the discovery of ancient technology. This and the discovery of the mineral Scarletite have turned Morytha into a Kingdom on the cutting edge of scientific discovery. While they possess the technology, the people of Morytha prefer to look inward and focus on themselves.

Plains of Hela

The Plains of Htela are said to be cursed by the Goddess of Darkness herself. Here demons and undead roam the land seeking prey to satisfy their dark intentions. The chaotic landscape prevents any real government from forming. Some areas though are rules by a Demon Lord. A powerful creature said to be blessed by Hela’s power who subjugates humans and lesser demons.

The COL Competitive Scene

The COL scene is littered with a litany of teams vying for the top spot. With the high viewer counts and attendance Lustaria events pull, there is a lot of money on the line. Here are two such teams of the many that make up the Lustaria Landscape. (Players choose a team to compete with.)

Team Crimson Dawn

Crimson Dawn are considered a monolith in the eSports arena. Well sponsored and widely known. They field players in a variety of games from the popular fighting game “Super Alley Fighter V” to the competitive shooter “Counter Assault”. But their most successful players have to be their Champions of Lustaria team who have won the back to back COLcon championships.

However with success breeds … issues. Reports of physical and sexual abuse, shady deals with tournament organizers for favourable treatment, backroom deals . Questionable advertising and marketing campaigns and numerous displays of poor sportsmanship has help to foster a bad boy Image. But as long as they keep winning, these bad boys seem to be sticking around.

Team Digital Chaos

Formed by a few players that met online, Team Digital Chaos are a group of rising stars. While not well known at some of the bigger events, they’ve dominated most of the major online ones. Their latest victory was during the Avalon Online Invitational, hosted by Digital Desire themselves. They have a massive following online as they tend to hold live streams and hangouts almost daily. DC Acolytes, as the hardcore fans call themselves can be a bit obsessive and a bit … possessive but they only want what’s best for the team.

With their latest successes, Team Digital Chaos are looking to attend their first major tournament as a team, but in the process they’ve been approached be a few conspicuous sponsors. How will TDC navigate the world of high level Lustaria Play?

Some attacks have a chance to score a critical hit. Attacks that critical can do double damage or have various effects depending on the character.

Ability Set:
Each champion has a set of Abilities available to them. They can be categorized as Universal Abilities and Character Abilities.

Universal Abilities
Universal Abilities are available to all champions. Each champion has four Universal Abilities. Each Grandmaster can recommend new Universal abilities but they will be available to other champions to use.

Basic Attack
A basic ability that has no cooldown but no special effects on its own.
Damage: Champion Attack, Speed: 5 , Accuracy: 0 , Range 1 (Melee)
Or
Damage: Champion Attack -5, Speed: 5, Accuracy: 0, Range: 6 (Range)

Heavy Attack
A Powerful Attack designed to Knockdown an opponent
Damage: Champion Attack + 5, Speed: 8, Accuracy: -10 , Range 1 (Melee)

Speed: 6, Accuracy: -10, Range(Adjacent), Hold Time: 2

Guard

Backstep
Move back one square to avoid taking damage, Can’t attack but your Evasion increases by 50 that turn. Using Backstep on sequential turns reduces the Evasion increase.

Dash
Your champion’s movement increases by 5 that turn. When Dashing, your evasion and armor are reduced by 50%

Hide
Allows champions to hide in areas with terrain (Trees, Mountains, Buildings, etc)
Flight:
While in flight, Champion ignores terrain effects and gains +20 evasion to Abilities with a Range of 3 or Less. Takes Double Damage from attacks with a range of 5+

Character Abilities
All Champions have four Character Abilities. These abilities are wholly unique to the character. They can be any combination of passive or active abilities that defines the Champion’s playstyle.

Mystic Art
The final ability your champion can have is called a Mystic Art. These are your champion’s ultimate attack. This ability starts on a cooldown and only becomes available later in the match. Mystic Arts can deal a large amount of damage or produce extremely unique effects.

Items and Trinkets
During a match your champion can find Recovery Potions and Equipable Items. These can be found in villages and structures as well as random treasure chests. Defeating Minions will net a chance to obtain Lesser Items. While defeating other Champions will net Greater Items.

When HP Reaches 0:
Your character returns to their Base and respawn in two turns. Every time your champion is defeated, a turn is added to the respawn counter.

Defeat and Climax Finish!
Once the enemy’s base has been captured, you’ve won the match. Some players leave it at that. But some players will trigger a Climax Finish. When the winning player triggers a Climax Finish, they can watch the losing team be raped. The rape scene available varies depends on the winner’s champion.

Speed Altering Effects:

Knockdown: When an ability knocks down an opponent, their evasion drops to zero and they requires time to get up. The champion’s Wake-Up Speed is added to any ability they try and use after being knocked down including guarding.

If the Attacker hits a knocked down opponent before they can attack, they deal 150% Damage and only take 50% Damage
If the Knocked Down Character’s attack hits first, they perform a Reversal. A Reversal deal 150% Damage and Knocked Down Character’ will only take 50% Damage from the incoming attack

After being Knocked down, you gain 20% Knockdown Resistance for three turns which stacks.

Stun:When a character is stunned, they can not act that turn. Their evasion is reduced to zero and take x1.50 Damage. Some abilities have a small chance to stun. But if a champion is Knockdown three times in a battle, the champion will be stunned instead of knocked down for the rest of the match.

Different area will have different effects on movement and Evasion

Building a Champion!
Step 1: Choose and Archetype
First Choose your Champion’s Archetype. There are three to choose from, Tank, Support and DPS. This will determine the champions’ Base Stats

Tank

Health: 200| Ability Points: 14| Movement: 3|Armor: 25|Attack: 50 |Evasion: 5

Support

Step 2: Enhance your Champion
You are given 10 Points to spend on each champion. Each point will increase a Stat by a different amount:
Health: 10 HP per Point
Ability Points: 2 per Point
Movement: 1 Points
Attack: 5 Per Point
Armor: 5 Per Point
Evasion: 5 Per Point Walk-Up Speed:
Increase to 1d8 (Gain 2 Points)
Decrease to 1d4 (Spend 2 Points)

Maximum Value

DPS

Support

Health: 300|Ability Points: 26| Movement: 7| Attack: 70| Armor: 30| Evasion: 40

Step 3: Create/Choose your champion Abilities
Choose four Universal Abilities first. These can be chosen from the list given or you can create a Universal Ability. Newly created Universals will be added to the list and champions can be edited to replace old Universals

Next, choose Four Character Abilities. These Abilities define the champion’s play style. This can be any mix of active and passive abilities. Champion can also have their own subsystem that define their playstyle. You can suggest stats for the abilities, but as GM I reserve the right to alter damage, speed etc to keep things balance, though I’ll consult you when I make any changes.

Finally, you have your champion’s Mystic Art. This ability has a long cooldown, but are real game changers. Same as your character Abilities, you’re free to suggest the stats for them but I may change them to make them more or less powerful.

Status Effects
Burn: Deal 10 HP Damage reduce AP recovery to 0 for three turns.
Slow: All abilities are slowed by 4
Bleed: Deal increasing HP Damage over four turns (5 -> 10 -> 15 -> 20)
Poison: Deal damage to a target over time, amount varies depending on the ability.
Bind: Champion’s Movement is reduced to Zero. They can not use Universal Abilities.
Silence: Champions can’t use their character abilities.
Petrify: Character is turn to stone. If attacked, character is killed

Team Crimson Dawn

Team Digital Chaos

RandomRoninKitten: Alena Jereni

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Alena Jereni
Gender: Female
Age: 18
Appearance: Image
Nationality: Russia
Team: Digital Chaos
Bio: Alena was born into a poor family, and grew up introverted, preferring to keep to herself instead of associating with... anyone at all. She made no friends in school, aside from the other outcasts, who eventually shunned her, as they believed she was too socially awkward, even for them. Maybe what was most mentally scarring for her, was when the individual she had a crush on asked her out, and ambushed her with a gang of thugs who beat her and shoved her into oncoming traffic.

She barely survived, and once she got out of the hospital, shut herself into her room and became a NEET, understanding, finally, that nobody cares about her, and nobody ever will, due to the fact that nobody visited her in the hospital. She also, however, chose not to kill herself because on the off chance someone did secretly care, she didn't want to hurt them. This may have just been her last remaining iota of hope or some acknowledgment that someone once looked at her with concern.

Her time as a NEET eventually led her to discovering the game "Champions of Lustaria", which she began immediately dumping all of her time into, only taking breaks to eat, drink, and sleep through the day. Her time on Champions of Lustaria also resulted in her meeting the other members of Digital Chaos, which she only accepted because of a burning desire for her life to matter, and the hope that the team would achieve something meaningful. The team seemed to immediately recognize that her personality was toxic, or so she thinks, and in return, possibly due to her paranoia, she believes that all but one member of the team hates her, and they only keep her around due to her skill.

mrblah : Marianne "Mary" Parsley
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Marianne "Mary" Parsley
Gender: Female
Age: 20
Appearance: Image
Nationality: British
Team: Digital Chaos
Bio: Marianne Parsley is a member of team Digital Chaos who had joined in its younger days. She's your stereotypical rebellious college dropout with a politician for a father and a non-present mother, as well as the older sister of her two younger brothers. Ever since she was young, she could remember being a big fan of all sorts of violent video games her father didn't approve of, and she'd often be playing them under his nose (when not being forced to be a productive member of society, of course). This eventually led to her interest in streaming on Twitch in order to wind down when off school or her job, and she began to quickly grow on the streaming platform, thanks to her expertise with the FPS genre and her fun, loose cannon-type of personality.

When Champions of Lustaria had first came out, Mary had ignored it as just another boring MOBA. She had never been interested in the genre and felt she was doing better with FPS streaming, but when she'd heard word of its usage of VR tech, the curious girl just had to order herself a VR headset to try out the game. The first few times were rough, but the more she played it, the more fun she had, and the popularity of the game boosted her views (gee, with what the game allows you to do when you win, it's a wonder why). She ended up switching over from FPS to Champions of Lustaria, and Mary never looked back.

Eventually, Mary dropped out of college and entered the competitive scene for real, playing through many tournaments and building up her reputation as an aggressive DPS player. Her old college friend eventually got her connected to Digital Chaos, she proved she was good enough to join, and the rest is history.
