She remains tense for a few moments as you step out and identify yourself. After a few moments, she begins to relax and gives you a nod, placing the sword back to her hips and moving away from it. She's not fully relaxed though, and you can tell there's quite a bit of tension she's got bottled up. "If the queen has allowed you in, then you may stay." She turns back to her pupils, barking more orders at them. You look them over, a group of young men and women that seem to have magic woven directly into their clothing. It's mostly acting as protection right now, safety equipment?, but they're purely practicing mechanical combat.

Spotting you, a number of the female students seem to have trouble focusing on their work, your blond curls turning in the wind distracting them. A sharp 'tsch' from the blue haired woman tells you that she noticed as well. "Are you going to join us for some sparring then?" She nearly grunts at you.

Queen? Teresa seemed a bit young to be a queen, though it would explain her influence... Kind of a irrelevancy at the moment. Looking over the students I notice the enchantments on their clothes... and their stares for that matter. As their strange as their stares were, I am more curious about the enchantments... I've never seen such uses for enchantments before. I jump slightly as my thoughts are once again interrupted by someone, and I compose myself real quick before answering, "I do not mind, but I am more focused on hand to hand combat," I stop to look down at her sword, "So I may not have the appropriate expertise to spar the same way you do." I am not afraid to fight even humans armed, especially one on one. If nothing else, my sister made sure that I am more than capable of defending myself against an armed human, even when I'm in my human form.

I could have sworn she was the queen...

The blue haired woman shrugs and picks her sword carefully away and hands it to an attendant. Sizing you up, she watches you move for just a second or so before she decides to adjust something on her wrist before stepping towards you. She's moving much more lightly than before, so the adjustment is obviously some kind of limiter for training purposes. She's... moving quite fluidly, but you're confident you can still take her.

I am tempted to tell her to keep her sword, but I decide that would sound arrogant and I rather not make my first impression worse than it already is. Instead I shift slightly, unlocking my joints and readying myself to snap into motion in an instant, though I slowly extend my left arm ahead of me while my right drops to my waist.

She snaps out a quick jab, not letting her weight shift too much as she probes at your speed. You can immediately spot what she's doing, and manage to push her arm aside easily with your left hand, giving you enough momentum to take a swing with your right, depending on where you want to aim.

Deflecting her strike away, I step in, my lead foot trying to swipe hers as I thrust my arm forward into her stomach, finally following it up with an elbow strike to her jaw.

Your speed isn't something she was prepared for it seems, as your foot swipe takes her balance, and your strikes all land true. You feel the magic flare, absorbing at least some of the several blows energy, although you can certainly see her eyes jar from the blow to the jaw. She stumbles before collapsing to one knee, shaking her head with a grunt. She looks at you with a lot more caution, and something else as well, although you're not sure what.

I'm thinking she's going to be one of those battle cranky amazon types. Although, she's obviously not one physically.

Having successfully taken her off guard, I offer her my hand to help her up for round two, politely suggesting, "As mentioned before, hand to hand is my specialty, if yours is the sword, and you wish to, I would not object to you retrieving your sword."

She eyes you up and down before taking you up on that offer, leaving the sheath on it. You can see her working her jaw as the bruise you left there fades at a very rapid pace. The feeling of mana from her dims slightly, as she expends some to heal herself and get back into good condition. She also adjusts her suit of magical armor again, this time, her movements seem almost totally unhindered by the weight of the armor. If they have that kind of magic, it would make sense to practice in larger armor like what she's in now, training for when the energy leaves the body is good.

She holds her sword forward, left hand gripping firmly at the base, right hand lightly gripping it. This stance is much more mixed than what she had before, likely a hybrid fighting style for real combat. A few seconds of looking at her shows that there's a few larger crystals on her right wrist, prepared spells perhaps? You don't sense anything strong from them, but you're betting if this were a real fight, she'd be ready to whip her hand forward and cast a shield or fireball, or whatever type of spell is appropriate before returning her hand to the handle and attacking. Her style seems prepared for either individual or group attacks, even as she focuses on you, you can see her unconsciously edging away from the group of students.

With her healed and armed, I, also inching away from the students, slide back into a combat pose, this time sliding one foot behind me as I make myself as small a target as possible towards her, with the intent of allowing me to evade her sword strikes far more easily... as well as a potential counter should she over extend. With that said, she is likely to be far less willing to do so after what happened last round, so I'll just have to wait and see what her intentions are.

She darts forward, but takes an awkward step to aim her sword, seeming to twist and throw her full body around to get a blindingly fast thrust in. But it's high, and to your right, and you instinctively dodge trying to get around her awkward... the room spins as her right hand comes free of the sword and her awkward stance makes sense as she backhands you across the face with only a slight shift in weight. The magic tingles as it tries to reach into you and begin healing you. It can't breach your magically resistant hide though, and you're left with something akin to a moderately sized bruise forming.

You continue the stumble, getting a slight bit of distance from her. She's very fast, and she knows how to mix her sword and hand combat very very well it seems. She's got her hands back on her sword in the same position, and she hasn't pressed her attack, giving you a polite nod so you know that it was purely so you could get used to her new speed. There's a bit of respect in her eyes at the way you shrug off the impact of the gauntlet-ed fist.

I instinctively click my tongue as I notice her hand let go of the sword, using the momentum imparted to my face to help me turn on my back foot, quickly making it the front foot as I catch myself with the other. As it turns out she gave me time to recover so the fancy foot work was superfluous, and I return the nod with one of my own.

With that said I needed a plan. She is in the same stance which implies that she might do the same thing, but I'm not so green to not consider feints. If she does the thrust again, I'm going to drop below it, lunge under her with both palms to use her momentum against her, but if she instead tries a slash, I'll rotate to the side, catch her hand with mine, pull her passed me while swiping the leg.

She watches you carefully, and seems to take a glance at your backside. It's odd, you know you generally set yourself up as attractive... could she realize that you're used to fighting with a tail with just the handful of exchanges? Your thoughts and suspicions are quickly interrupted when she again darts forward, this time moving the sword to one side before bringing it about. You spot an instinctive surge of magic that's damped down a split second later. The surge of magic again provokes your instinct and you dodge the blade, moving behind it and and trying to pull her past you and trip her.

She catches your own leg as you try to sweep it out to catch hers, creating a great deal of spinning momentum for her as her fist slams into your side. Whether it's your altered form or simply a difference in skill, the woman is clearly close to a match for you. Rather than draw back as she did before, she spends a second to regain her balance after getting torn off before she tries to move back toward you, sword down and to the side, even as her other fist begins to come around.

After our brief parting and she comes back for another clash, I step forward attempting to grab her fist to use as leverage as I feint another leg swipe, before pulling up to try and knee her in the gut, and close too close for her sword to be much use.

You manage to catch her fist... and her feet leave the ground, throwing her full weight against your arm and straining it as her legs wrap around your waist, and she carries you to the ground. Out of the corner of your eye, you spot her start to go for an elbow strike to the side of your head and hold herself back before giving you a smack with the hilt of her sword. She doesn't spring away from you, or do any 'ground and pound' so you're guessing the show match is over. She's panting, much like yourself. Her combat style is very... frantic, making good use of her smallish size and rapidly switching between postures to confuse whoever she's fighting with. It's definitely a style with some odd applications, and you'd need to see what kind of military niche she fits before any more judgement.

She leans toward you, whispering to you. "I think I'd like to try again when you're not missing parts." She gives you a little grin and begins to untangle herself from you. You'd swear her flush was from a bit more than just exertion, but you can't tell by scent, the other women's lust spreading across the room. The men as well, although that scent is far from interesting to you. You take a closer look at the group, noticing that they're all on the smaller, or at least leaner side of humans. And they've all got some strong magical talent. It's clear that she's training them to fight like herself, and while her own style is far more practiced and difficult to predict, many of them bear the strange gauntlet and favor a single hand for their sword.

"CLASS, ANY OBSERVATIONS!" She booms out to the rest of them, as they snap to attention and try to describe what they just saw.

I resisted letting her give you a suggestive nip. Also, I'm thinking that militarily, she's going to be a counter formation mage knight. Uses mixed melee and magic to play merry havoc among any massed magic artillery, which tends to clump magic users up. She was going almost all out against you though, so don't feel too bad about getting spanked. The armor has a few defensive spells, but almost no attack spells beyond 'show' spells, but it does have weight adjustment, which she set to her normal combat weight of like 5%.

(Boycott the dice, clearly biased!)

Letting out a sigh, a single thought dominates my mind... My sister must never learn of this. She'd never let me live being defeated by a human down.

Raising an eyebrow at her comment, I whisper back, "What gives you the impression that I'm... missing parts?" I'm curious what gave me away... or why she'd assume such a thing. She intrigues me over all... One main advantage I have over an average human is that my fighting style is atypical... but that clearly isn't an advantage against someone who also uses an atypical fighting style. And there is a hint of something more... but I can't suss it out... not with the arousal of the others in the room. Why they are so sexually excited from watching a fight is something I'm uncertain of. Irregardless, I stand back up before offering my hand to her, asking, "I haven't fought anyone who could put me on the ground like that outside my eldest sister. The name is Talren. May I know your name?"

Your natural dragon abilities will put you up in the upper tier combat wise, but someone who's either extremely experienced like Judith and her decade+ of combat experience against highly varied foes, or who could simply brute force it like Theresa could still beat you one on one. You would have had a better chance against Theresa if she hadn't found out you were magic resistant or you caught her flat footed than you would have against Judith.

Also, in general, I'm going to assume you want late teens and early twenties for ages unless otherwise specified. Judith I'm thinking is mid to late twenties, and Theresa either late teens or early twenties. PC is 16-18 now, late twenties when assassinated?

"I am Judith. The other parts... you fight like you're missing some weight to throw around on the backside, far more than a normal mammal. Closer to a lizard, but your body isn't shaped right to be a lizard folk missing a tail." She gives you a quiet aside as her students murmur amongst themselves, waiting for someone to suggest something. Many of them are staring you up and down, and the female lust is quite potent. Finally a few of them begin to raise hands and comment. "I sensed no real mana flares from him, I suspect if he's trained in mage combat, it's separate from his hand to hand style. Ma'am, I caught several instances where you had to stop yourself from trying to fire off a spell of some kind to cut him down, but he wasn't tightly controlling himself, so I'd bet he was going all out like yourself." None of them seem to notice what she did, and your status as a shapeshifted dragonkin is still secretish. Unless you decide to reveal it of course. You're sure you could fight and win against her if you could fully employ your tail.

Judith mulls over the implied challenge to her own skill, but gives you a sidelong look before accepting it. She's honest with herself, and she knows full well that her physical limits are much less than the whole of her combat ability. She also mulls over your 'secret' shape, and decides to let it lie. "Excellent observations, and good predictions. Return to your practicing." She gives them a dismissive gesture before returning her attention to you. Moving you slightly to the side, she begins to talk in more hushed tones, easily lost in the noise of the others practicing. "I think I would like to train a bit with you." She says, an aggressive look in her eyes.

Officially Loren was the older twin of Teresa so they'd be the same age. In addition I was thinking more early twenties for her when she got assassinated.

Also, just going to say, I think you're over-estimating his reliance on his tail... If anything his wings are far more potent of a weapon due to the massive amount of mobility it can provide.

I pause at Judith's observation. I would have thought I would be use to not having it, but I suppose instinct is a hard thing to eliminate. It also indicated another useful thing about this world... Namely there are people other than humans and elves are common enough where she would have ran across some of them... More than I can say for my world. Then I notice the females staring at me with desire, causing me to nervously shuffle under their gaze.

One of them speaks up on the subject of training, analyzing Judith's and my sparring session. She is correct that I'm not a learned mage, though she is incorrect that I was going all out. Short of shapeshifting back into my true form, I could still use my ability to strengthen my body if I so desired, though I avoid that in my human form as I end up doing thing distinctively beyond human ability, negating the whole point of being in human form. Still, I'm not certain I need to resort to those things, as I have a better feel for her style that I may be able to compensate. Speaking of which she moves close offering more training. I nod, understanding that I'm too use to my sister's combat style to be a well rounded fighter, "That sounds good, what did you have in mind."

While true, it's more rare to get into a fist fight with someone that can fly away. Since he wasn't trying to keep his distance and use his mobility, she assumed he wasn't a natural flier. Also, Judith could bump her own abilities with her combat armor.

Taking you to the hallway out of view of the clearly distracted students, she continues talking quietly with you. "Give me two hours to finish with these students, and then I'll have some time. We can meet here and find a different training room and practice. I will bring my armor in case you wish to truly test our skills." Her eyes glitter in anticipation.

I'm not even talking about that sort of guerilla attacks... more like charging them while flapping his wings forward to give him absurd speed boost.

"Can't promise anything since I don't know when Teresa is able to see me or how long will take, but should I have time, I will be there," I agree after caveating.
