Thursday Fight Night! [Ocfos]

Character Sheet
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Name: Nellie Samotara
Species: Shrelling
Age: 26
Height: 154cm / 5'1"
Weight: 45kg/100lbs
Looks: 1 2 3 (2+3 are actual skin tone) 4

Body type reference: Mannequin image (Though I made her chest slightly too small on accident)

Species description:
A race of colourful squid-humanoids with a venomous bite, their hue reflecting what type of venom they carry, which can vary heavily. Their heads typically have two long tendrils in the shape of tentacles hanging down, which can be moved about and has powerful suction cups on the end. Their 'hair' is kind of spongy to the touch, if not a bit slimy. They can change shape into a strange gooey substance, which they're seemingly in control of. They have odd triangular ears, three fangs (Two top, one bottom), and are typically not taller than 5'9". The Shrelling are excellent swimmers, and their fingers are slightly webbed (to the first joint), and can stay submerged for a while due to gills along their sides, which are only easy to see whilst submerged. Their biggest weakness is acid, as not even their gooey form can save them from more intense pain and/or disfigurement than most other species - This is speculated to be because of their heavily PH-basic oceans.
Their gooey-looking hair, as well as their gooey shapes, both taste of the same things, but these can wary wildly from sweet to savory, or even sour tones. It is unknown why this is the case.

Bio:
Growing up in the poorer parts of the system left Nellie little in the form of entertainment, causing her to be stuck running around in and on-top of the local neighbourhood with a few of her friends.
Eventually, she ended up with an interest in firearms and tried doing some repair work at a local mechanic's workshop, leaning a slight bit about repairing engines and such, even if it was a rough learning curve.
Her interest in firearms only grew, as gang wars started drawing closer to her home town, where she eventually listed into the local peacekeeper force to try and help protect her home from the chaos drawing nearer.

Unfortunately, the chaos ended up claiming most of the district of her home planet, causing the gangs to mercilessly hunt down any peacekeepers from the area.
This is leaving Nellie no choice but to flee her home planet for greener pastures, and with most of what she owned being completely destroyed or looted in the riots and gang wars that claimed her home.

She has her sights set on a massive interstellar station, known for its wild sports, as well as plenty of people seeking fame and fortune in the various sports arenas, some being quite different than any others in the galaxy.

Trick:
Nellie can turn into a malleable gooey squid shape (Or other shapes), but is still just as affected by attacks as she normally would be, as she's still herself, even inside the pink gooey slime she becomes.
It isn't possible to see through it, the residue left behind has a curious taste of red berries, as does any of her bodily juices (as well as her actual goo shape and her hair (both head and groin), if someone really wanted to lick it).
Nellie also has a paralytic venom, most effectively delivered via bite. She may also spit a weaker variant which is effective if ingested. She is unaware of how it may interact with alien physiology...

Flaw: Poor Temper, Headstrong, cocky.

Backgrounds:
+1 Mechanic
+3 Parkour (gymnast?)
+2 Shrelling
+2 Firearms

Items:
Nellie prefers to wear a set of standard spats on her hips, with a matching sports top to match (And keep her tits from throwing her off), usually covered with a loose t-shirt cut with a midriff.
Not the flashiest outfit for a to-be professional athlete she thinks, but it's all she really has that would be presentable in an arena.

Wealth: Poor. (Definitely)

Turn-ons: Girls, Exhibitionism, Nudity, Tentacles, Slime, Bondage, Spandex, Magic potions/Hexes, Dramatic Size Alteration (Micro/macro), Body-fitting Outfits, Underwear, Swimwear, Voyeurism, non-human Insertions, Aliens.

Turn-offs: Bathroom Play, Inflation, Suffocation (In sexual context), Gore (In sexual context), diapers, Ridiculous proportions (tits bigger than your own head, etc.), Mutilation (Especially in sexual context).

GNC SpaceStation - Home of Thursday Fight Night

"Hello, everybody, it's Robby Ruden here, your lovely host for Thursday Fight Night! If you're listening to this, I won my knife fight with John Madden's floating disembodied head, so we've staved off yet another megacorp takeover! That means we'll keep bringing you the death fights live, as they happen! Can I get a heyooo?!"

You're in the bar. Or, rather, you're in the bar that all potential contenders are shuffled into before the New Meat Grinder match - the traditional way that Thursday Fight Night picks out new blood each season. You can tell by the crazy amount of promotional material on every wall, and the fact that every holoscreen is tuned into the game. Oh, and the fact that they only sell officially branded drinks. They all suck. At least the official Thursday Fight Night Pit Girls - all clones, apparently - gave you some eye candy to look at as they served drinks and food.

Thursday Fight Night wasn't your first choice - you'd hoped maybe to get into an underground league, out of sight - but the sheer variety of options the corporation had in terms of what the show actually encompassed meant it was more likely you wouldn't be horribly killed, which was a bonus. Plus, if the pay sucked, at least you could cut it clean and get out of there without anyone really caring too much. There were always more jobs.

"Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, is time for a new crop of wannabes to take to the arena!" Robby Ruden's voice is overlaid on rapidly cut video of the arena and past competitions. "its the New Meat Grinder, coming to you live from the GNC Cocapsi Arena! Cocapsi - the only legal cola within fifteen parsecs!"

A guy sitting next to you who looks like a man hatefucked a crocodile snorts at the tv screen. "Corporate shit." He turns his enormous head to you, looming almost by accident. "What are you here for, squirt? Fancy your chances?"

Mumbling lightly at the amount of promotional material in the bar, Nellie simply sits on a stool at the counter, stirring her soda whilst resting her head on her arm, clearly bored over the corporate shill.

That is until she hears someone talk to her, and is someone quite big.

"I ain't no squirt, bud. I'm here to make a buck, and that's about it." She scoffs.

"What about you, big guy? You here out of lack of funds, or the 'glory'?" She makes air-quotes with her hands at the mention of glory, before taking a swig of her soda.
"Egh, they better have some good stuff up higher in the food chain here."

The Lizardman guffaws. "Same as you. I'm here to make cash, and these Earthling fuckers got plenty of it." He grins with way too many teeth. "You got guts. I'll keep an eye out for you."

A yelp and a giggle briefly draws your attention. One of the Pit Girls has drawn the attention of a tall, thin jellyfish-like woman, the latter of whom has sent tendrils to grope at the clone's breasts and backside. The girl merely giggles and wriggles in the alien's grip, and bystanders cheer and holler at the sight. The Lizardman snorts derisively.

"Dumbasses. Xeroxes and newbies both." He looks down at you. "Word of advice - avoid the lower levels of the arena if you can. They don't show that shit on primetime."

"Lower levels? Rank-wise, or the location?" She asks, raising an eyebrow of intrigue. "Appreciate the gesture, by the way. You seem like an alright dude." Grinning, she takes another sip.

"Location. Anything goes down there." The lizardman grins and lifts his own drink at you in acknowledgment. "And thanks for the compliment. Don't get a lot of those nowadays."

Suddenly, an alarm briefly blares, stirring the patrons out of their own delirium and thoughts. The jellyfish woman releases the clone girl, both expressing some reluctance.

"Okay, everyone!" Another clone girl has stood on top of the bar and is waving her hands to get everyone's attention. A few patrons stare lecherously at her toned, curvy body. "Y'all get ready now! We're 'bout to file you into the arena for the fight. Make sure y'all got your kit with you! And remember - no roughhousin' unless it's on the lower level of the arena or outside of it! Now y'all get to it!"

A doorway opens behind her, and the competitors begin to file out through the new door into the arena. The lizardman looks down at you quickly, and then fishes in a hostler at his side and tosses you a pistol. You check it over - it's a cheap model, a blaster that recharges by itself. Not a lot of punch, but better than the nothing you started with.

"You know how to use that, right?" He nods. "My advice - hang back and take something better off someone once they're dead. Best of luck out there."

You got a pistol! 1d6 Damage, ranged, light

The lizardman turns and heads to the arena before you can reply. Guess there's no more time for chatter.

"Course I know how to use a gun, I used to carry two of 'em for a living back home." She chuckles, keeping the blaster on her side.

"I'm sure I'll see you 'round here later mate, I appreciate the gift."

As you head into the arena, the first thing that hits you is the noise. The crowd is huge, and their cheers and calls almost feel like a physical wall. The stands are impossibly high above your head, looming over the circular arena. The other competitors begin to run and scramble to find positions in the area - it's littered with barricades, walkways and tiny fake buildings for cover. Everything that isn't just gunmetal grey has some kind of advertisement plastered on it.

"Alriiiight, new meat!" Robby Ruden's voice booms out from over the PA. "You all know the rules! Last Fighter Standing, or whoever's left after the bell rings, gets their chance to enter the rookie leagues! Rules are standard UNLESS you're in the Danger Zone, where the spooky red lighting lets you know that anything goes! And for our viewers, that means you'll have to purchase an All Access pass from our site or the ticket booths -"

As he rattles this off, you spot various ramps and ladders marked with the red lighting, all heading downwards. That's what the lizardman warned you about earlier, then.

"And with that..." Robby pauses for effect. "...LET THE COMBAT BEGIN!"

The crowd erupts into a bloodthirsty roar, immediately overlaid by the sounds of gunfire and metal on metal. The combat's begun! Thankfully, nobody's picked you out just yet. Are you going to go look for trouble, or seek safety?

Nellie doesn't waste any time running for a piece of cover as soon as the battle has begun.
She's half-tempted to actually slide herself down the nearest ramp to use it as a lure for any cocky enemies, but decides that for now she'll play it a little more topside. She still isn't fully sure just *what* he meant by the danger of the lower levels.

Surely, being shot and/or killed is the worst to happen, right?

She does try to look for nearby targets, and possibly dangers as well.

It's not hard to find possible targets - they're everywhere! Your eye is drawn to a few:
  • This wolf-cyborg lady, who appears to be making a lot of headway into the game despite not having any visible guns. She moves incredibly quickly, using her holographic claw to rip open unwary combatants. Taking her down would probably get a lot of attention for you - in more ways than one.
  • You notice the jellyfish woman from earlier sneaking into the red-lit tunnels below. She doesn't appear to be armed, and might be an easy pick if you brave the unknown nature of below the stage.
  • This weird horse/human gene modder is armed to the gills but clearly out of her depth, shooting wildly at anything that looks vaguely like a threat. If you could get past her itchy trigger finger and take her stuff, you'd have a leg up on the competition.

What do you choose?

Nellie runs for the gene modder, trying to get closer with her small pistol by using her speed to her advantage.
She slides into the cover she finds, aiming for the chest, rather than the head.

Shes tempted to try and lure her away, half-wanting to steal that outfit for her own use, if that was even allowed in the ring.

Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You sidle up to the gene modder with speed. The woman's too distracted to notice your approach - she's firing at other competitors, a look of fear on her face. You could shoot her, but you've always got your paralytic venom - and if stripping away her spandex outfit wasn't allowed in the ring, then you could always take her to the Danger Zone to do it.

Seeing the woman distracted in the gunfire and oblivious to her presence, Nellie grins deviously as she starts to sprint up behind her, going for a bite to the chick's neck area if she gets the opportunity to latch on from behind. She's glad the crowd, gunfire, and her bare feet helps hide her charge a little. At least that's what she thinks.

Your bite lands home! The woman shrieks and the crowd roars in approval as you sink your fangs in, delivering your paralytic venom straight to the neck. She struggles, the servos on her powered boots whining as she tries to throw you off, but her struggles quickly abate and she drops her rifle, falling to her face. Unlike past people you've bitten, she appears to have a glazed expression on her face. Odd, that. But hey, you got her stuff! Score!

Nellie quickly wastes no time starting to pick up her dropped gear before dragging her limp body towards the nearest ramp. She figures she wouldn't need to go very far down the ramp to be within the allowed area for this.

She also does make sure to stay low to avoid any shots ringing her way.

Ha, jackpot! Maybe I'll use her as bait to keep the jelly chick off of me... She thinks to herself as she works.

You manage to drag the stunned woman into the entrant way of the Danger Zone. Thankfully, they painted a line on the floor to tell you where it starts. The crowd's roar peaks for a moment as they realise where you're dragging her, and then cuts out as you enter the area.

Not that sound is completely cut off down here. You can hear gunfire and shouting, still, but it's also mixed with bizzare cries, mechanical noises you can't identify, and the moans of a woman. You can't see the source of any of these - the ramp leads down to a series of maze-like walls and tunnels, thrown into shadow by the red lighting. No wonder the Lizardman told you to avoid this place - it'd be easy to get lost down here.

The woman you dragged down is still paralyzed, but her breathing has quickened and her chest rises and falls. She's looking at you but is unable to speak.

Nellie wastes no time starting to flip the woman onto her stomach to get at her suit, figuring the faster she'd be back out in the fight, the faster she could get to kill her competitors.
She doesn't take too much notice of the woman's state, being used to them turning into ragdolls as their muscles relax.

You manage to unzip the woman's suit! A little victory jingle plays in your head as you take her stuff. When you put the suit on yourself, there's a hiss of compressed air as it forms to your body shape - which is a bit uncomfortable when you're still in your t-shirt and spats, and you have to take those off to get it to sit right on your body. But her powered boots and gloves are in your size, so that's neat. You probably will have to leave these behind if you turn into goo, which is a shame.

You gain:
Power Undersuit - 1 armor, whole body, lightweight
Power Gloves - Hands, Roll 2 dice when performing a feat of strength and keep the highest.
Power Boots - Legs, Roll 2 dice when making a critical jump or dash, and keep the highest.
Assault Rifle - 1d8 damage, conspicuous

You leave the poor woman in her bra and panties. She's still breathing heavily, and -

You look down and see a damp spot on her panties. Oh. Oooooh. So that's what's going on. Your venom's not done that before. Maybe it's interacted with her weird horse genes in a way you didn't anticipate. Oh well, as long as she's incapacitated, who cares?

The woman's moaning has stopped, and you can hear footsteps approaching.

Nellie hears the footsteps, taking no chances as she speeds back towards the ramp she got down from. She leaves the woman behind, figuring whoever's coming towards them is going to take care of her.

The crowd boos as you emerge - clearly, you didn't do something they were anticipating. Whatever. You're not here to please them.

The list of potential candidates for murder remains at three, although you now have a gun and armor to back you up. You look quickly to figure out where everyone is:
  • The wolf-cyborg lady is currentlyfighting what appears to be a pile of rocks that are flinging themselves at her. Silicates are pretty hard to take down - you could swing that battle either way.
  • This... robot? You have no clue what it is, but it appears to have a gun that atomises people. That's an upgrade if you ever saw it.
  • Your lizardman "friend" is punching some hapless dude into a bloody pulp. NO hard feelings, right...?

Nellie doesn't waste any time, not wanting to really fight the lizard guy if she can help it - He seems like he'd be good to stay on the side of, at any rate.

That thought does give her an idea for later, but for now, she kneels down and unloads at the robot's torso - of which there's plenty - hoping to at least disable the firing arm if possible.
