The guardsmen killed as many of the orks as they could before they made it into the trenches and one on one fights ensued, Garian pulled out his bayonet, acting like a dagger and stabbed at the Ork's face (rolled 5, strength 10 = 15) and killed the Ork as the blade went into its skull and brain, he then pulled it out and got ready for the next ork.

Celeste swung in a wide arc, at the three orks sluggas approaching her. For so called "One on One combat"

Jessica with her sword drawn met the first ork to jump into the trench where she was defending where she began to attack the ork. (rolled 9+8=17)

Alexsis attempted to back up a little to continue firing while stabbing any orks who come close enough with her bayonet (rolled 7+9=16)

You all are able to kill those Orks that came at you, there was one left, but it was quickly dealt with by Daidrick, who pulled out his bolter and only fired one shot, which took the Orks head clean off. The artillery was still firing, keeping a wall of flames in between the orks and the Guardsmen,
Daidrick looked over them all, "tomorrow will be the hardest day for us, men, good luck."

Alexsis did a quick sweep looking for any wounded orks or stragglers to finish off but finding none she let out a sigh of relief and a little disappointment before heading back to her bunk

Following the Commissar's example, Katherine climbed up out of the trench, her wearieness from the exertions of melee combat evident, but she stood tall and scanned for any greenskins within range of her trusty lasgun

Garian aimed his gun back out at the trench again, afraid they may attack in full force at night, the autumn soldiers showed no signs of fatigue, but you can see it in their eyes. They refused to show weakness towards anything, even to themselves.
