Okay, that makes sense. I've been dicking around trying to pick a standard bearing for most of the moving parts to build everything on, and I eventually settled on the TQOW-5.00 inch bearing. I can't find max speed, but I figure picking stuff out of the rolling mill catalog means it will give precisely zero fucks, considering one'll support two fully loaded Abrahms at speed, I doubt 20 tons at 200-300 RPM will bother it.

Considering the value of the dragon tooth as a alchemical accelerant, I doubt the brass would ever let another one be sold. Those things are going to be worth far more than their weight in enriched uranium. I'm going to go with 'spices' since they're exceptionally cheap at home, are easily transportable, and valuable in an economy which doesn't have high speed shipping.

Also, the Empire is doing their best to quash rumors that they got spanked at Alnus and the city, in as much as they've spread at all. It's only been two weeks since the army laying siege got messed up, and armies that size don't move quickly. Recall that they're still technically at war with you even with the treaty/cease fire signed by Pina. That city is basically the only one that knows about NATO and isn't going to fight.

The Matron seems to become more and more alarmed as you speak. While she settles down at the end, she seems to be still troubled. "Are you... taking territory from the Empire?" She asks, seeming to be trying to probe what exactly your intentions are besides heading to Scholomance.

Many of the locals have begun settling into a different habit, looking to be getting things ready for some kind of party. Likely to celebrate Larena maybe? Many of the drow are moving things in and out of the caves, tables going up with local dishes, mushrooms and numerous types of plants from the surrounding jungles.

Oh yeah! I totally forgot we already sold one of the teeth at Italica. I thought we hadn't sold one yet, so I guess the gold issue is not a problem. I'd imagine Crysta and Trista have some small amount of local gold to purchase food and perhaps the other random odd things should it seem necessary. And of course, they always got milk to sell or trade with!

And yeah alright. I thought it was like a month for some reason but so far it's really only been three weeks that have passed in game. And yeah, I figured the treaty was just for that lordship or whatever that oversaw the region for Italica so the war is still very much on.

"No. Not exactly.", Crysta answers the older, but still quite pretty, drow. "We will be occupying lands but we will not be taking them if it can be avoided. If we must have land we will purchase it, or pay for it's use. We will only take it by force if we must, and only temporarily. We did not come as conquerors. We came simply to teach a cruel and petulant Empire a lesson it will not ever forget. That no one will ever forget.", Crysta elaborates. "However... should towns and cities and villages wish to secede from the Empire once we are done with them, we would be glad to help them organize into their own nations.", Crysta finishes with.

As she talks though it seemed that around them what appeared to be a banquet or a festival was being set up, and various kinds of local food(which looked very tasty!) were being brought out. "Oh! Did we come at a bad time? You seem to be having some kind of event.", Crysta notes, looking around. Eventually though as her eyes fall back on Larena casually leaning against the new Stryker she supposes she might be a likely reason considering her status in this world. "Is it for Larena?", Crysta then asks.

The matron listens to you, a thoughtful look entering her eye before she can quash it. It seems the locals aren't huge fans of the Empire, and it might be time to start sowing a spy network of some kind. It's probably best to mention your findings to your superiors soon, as the spies and scouting that has been done has been focused on local areas. Considering the likely logistical damage that taking away the crystal dust probably would do, in addition to the loss of Scholomance, this area may move up in priority. NATO could certainly deny the Empire access to the crop land Alnus is centered in, but the civilian casualties would likely be too severe. Crippling magical systems though...

At your question on the party being prepared, "There is a holiday within a few days, however the arrival of Larena the Crimson Scythe isn't something we're going to be letting go unanswered." She says. It's a little strange that Larena isn't getting more personal attention if she's that famous...

"Of course though, such a thing is a thought for the future, not right now.", Crysta says. While a citizens revolt was possible in the future once word of the Empire fortunes spread, right now it would do more harm then good. There was a lot of unfamiliar land to cover after all, much of it unknown, and the Empire with it. While they roughly new the size of the Empire and all of it's major provinces and cities due to the map they had procured in Italica, maps in these times certainly did a poor job at representing reality due to limitations of technology, among other things. That and given the relatively poor level of general knowledge and very so slow travel of information... well, despite all their technology they were in the dark about a lot of things. While the armies around the Alnus Gate were soundly defeated, a force of approximately three hundred thousand, was was defeated with between 60% to 70% of those casualties being fatal(including the force defeated at Italica) it hardly meant the Empire military back was broken. For all they new the Empire was large enough to have millions more ready to fight. An unlikely prospect... but still quite possible. Even if the force was so under equipped compared to there own, large forces could still potentially take large amounts of time to deal. Depending on the situation of course. Point was, if they vassals of the Empire rose up too soon... well it would not end well for them likely. Word of mouth was slow both ways after all, for enemy and ally alike in this strange new world. By the time the task force heard of any of them, it would be quite likely they were already too late to be any help to them. A network of friends and informants though? Now that would still be useful, and make sure most of those who deserved to keep their heads kept them.

But those were concerns for later. She was having a conversation after all.

"I see. Well, thank you for your hospitality, even if it is mostly meant for Larena. May I ask what holiday your celebrating?", Crysta asks her. Once she gets her answer though Crysta would politely excuse herself to go talk to her red headed lover in question. "Apparently they're throwing a party for you, though I think they might be a little afraid of you.", Crysta says. To be fair though, they should be afraid of her. "Perhaps I might have been too if I had heard about you from other sources rather then just meeting in the middle of the road like we did. Thankfully I didn't though. As much as I know you like to get praise and worship being a demigoddess and all... I get the impression that sometimes you get rather sick of everyone groveling at your feet all the time."

Oh, most fantasy races have specific quirks that let them excel, I figured I'd let you in on some of them. What makes humans so dominant is their aggressive immune system. They're one of the only races that can build large cities and survive any resulting plagues, which is why you don't find many cities without a major human presence. Elves and everyone else tend see near apocalyptic depopulation when a plague spreads to their species which is one of the reasons human/x hybrids are common, but other mixes less so. This is also why many other races tend toward 'villages' and 'towns' compared to 'cities' although plumbing is still a new concept. Other races will have physiological quirks or possibly some kind of natural magic. But, I figured I needed a reason for humans to be so dominant in a world where rapid repopulation is just a few spells away. You can expect a shift in population toward elves now that Rhea has gotten her hands on the concept of vaccines and gene therapy though.

Also, I'm thinking of pushing Larena toward 'goddess of passion' rather than 'violence and sex' as it's broader but still has something similar in meaning. Oh, and recall that while I've explained the deity ecosystem to you, no one but Larena knows the whole story. Norika and Amra will both know that 'demi-god' doesn't mean what is commonly meant, but Crysta and Trista don't.

Memories from history classes of successful rebellions tend to involve multiple areas rebelling at the same time, so starting one now would not be very effective. That said, hilly jungle with lots of caves is certainly the area that can support an insurgency. But it's best not to start anything until you've had a chance to pass the buck up the chain of command so somebody else's ass is on the line.

The Matron mentions that it's the beginning of the a hunting season, as some of the local animals are about to go into their rutting season. With the animals more active, particularly at night, the drow will be hunting and gathering more meat, which is mostly going to get preserved. For some reason, you note that other than a few pack animals, there are few farm animals. In fact, you realize Amra's village was the same way, although all of the human ones had plenty of farm animals.

Larena listens to you, before giving you a weak smile. "I like being pampered as much as most people, but it's not something that wins my Favor. One of the reasons I liked you and your little town out there, many of them were unconcerned with 'blowing smoke up my ass' and more concerned with being good at what they do. It was... refreshing." she tells you, a bit wistful.

And good to know. I just sort of figured that most of the other races are just in other areas depending. Or whole other countries. They never really go into it in the show but I imagine there is some kind of rival nation or kingdom to the Empire that isn't one of it's already conquered states, which could potentially be dominant of another race. Like the bunny girls in the show I suppose before they get invaded. But yeah I'm okay with that reason. Would certainly help a human dominant area stay human dominant, especially with a fair amount of cross breeding going on.

And yeah thats fair. Really makes the most sense in context to the game so I support Larena being a Demigoddess of passion.

Crysta nodded when the matron explains the reason for their celebration, or least their preparing for it. Inwardly though it makes her think. "Rutting season huh? I wonder if I should be worried about that?", She asks herself. She already been... made use of by several horses and a dragon after all already, and everything in this world seemed quite sexually charged, so it was quite possible. Still, the horses could be as explained as trained to do such a thing for 'interrogation' purposes... maybe the dragon too, but all Pina's Knights had to do get the dragon to mount her was to bend her over in front of it. Perhaps it would be prudent to just be careful and make sure she kept her sidearm handy on the road or while making camp, lest some horny wolf or something jumped her, or anyone in her party, hoping for some action. Perhaps those issues were why these elves seemed to have few domestic animals? It was hard to say. Time would tell most likely.

"Well I'm glad you think so. Besides, I'm pretty sure you found most of us would rather do much more fun things with your ass then blow smoke up it.", Crysta says, giving Larena a wink. The action might rile up the randy red head a bit, but Crysta didn't mind too much. Perhaps they could christen the new Stryker tonight with a bit of fun? Though they'd have to keep using their 'protection' magic for now lest they all show up Scholomance with gravid bellies.

That said, Crysta just tries to chat with the locals to learn a little more about them. Perhaps ask them about their festival a little more while they keep setting up. Once it was time to eat though she and Trista would gladly sit down and join the village in their feast, and try to act like good examples for what these folks could expect of other NATO soldiers. Barring anything happening though they'd just retire back to their vehicle for the night when everything was said and done.

Larena seems to not be as interested in taking the bait, possibly the result of the emotions she's picking up from the locals? Most of the raw sexuality from Larena took place around large groups of people that either respected or at least lusted after the demi-goddess, and these people almost seem to fear the powerful woman, not that you're surprised about that. Still, with all of the flashy clothing only serving to highlight the beauty and curves around you, you're pretty confident that you and everyone else here could get some action if they desired it.

The beast is interesting, lots of roasted vegetables and fruits and mushrooms. A few small birds and what look like bats are also present, and are surprisingly delicious. You make sure to sniff all of the wine and everything else, just to check it, but everyone is out having fun.

Larena seems to just give her a coy smile in response rather then do something a little more provocative like Crysta expects. Still she supposes that is likely the for the best right now. It certainly would've been embarrassing if the comment had riled up the demigoddess enough to make her take her right there and then... which a part of her sort of finds disappointing. "God I've been more horny then an entire class of teenagers combined since Amra cast her magic binding spell... Or maybe thats more of a consequence of Rhea?", Crysta thinks, rubbing her head and shifting in her seat a little as she ate her food and stuck close with her companions. Of course it certainly doesn't help that all these exotic dark skinned elf girls wearing what was likely their nicest clothes, a lot of quite minimal, were prancing around and being all super sexy and stuff. It was really making her horny dammit! Still, there would be plenty of time for that tonight back in the Stryker... less something else happened first.

Still, seeing the merriment was quite fun, and the food was quite good! Her and Trista sip at some sweet local wine conservatively while the locals seems to engage in some kind of dance which was... really nice to look at! Still it all made her a bit curious. "Your a fairy elf yes Amra? Did your village do this festivity? Or something like it anyway?", Crysta asks her pretty blonde haired friend.

Amra watches along with you. "The mating seasons in the forest were slightly different, but much of it was similar. She feels a bit bad though when she reminds the pretty elf of her old village and how it was now ashes though, so she goes to apologize. However before she can Amra has her up and is pulling her toward the dancing dark elves. "Woah!", she says at first as Amra giggles and starts to dance. She looks around, trying to see if there was a pattern, but there didn't seem to be any... so to hell with it! She danced! Crysta had no problem with dancing, and in fact considered herself fairly good at it. Granted she was certainly no pro but she was a league better then the average club goer doing the 'put your hands in the air and jump around' style of dance. It was a bit odd to dance in her gear though, her side arm still on her hip, but at least her helmet was on the table with Trista leaving her free to let her long purple pony tail bounce around. She goes it with gusto, not even minding too much how her tits jumped about even with the armor on. There was bouncing boobs all around her after all!

Trista meanwhile seems to be having a good time having an animated conversation with Norika about something or other. The two were the most introverted of the group to be certain, so it was no real surprise they didn't really want to dance. Barring anything significant or... heated happening, they'd all just join in the fun and retire back to their vehicle for the night when things seem to wind down.

The party is actually starting to wind down, many of the dark elves having headed toward home, although you noticed that Larena did not head for the Stryker, most likely finding a few elf babes to entertain her tonight if desired. You noticed a rather low number of drow menfolk, many of them seeming to be exhausted from work. Of course, they're still there if you decide to have a dalliance, and you're sure that Trista wouldn't mind being woken up.

The stuff was damn good though that was for sure! Her and Amra though eventually seem to be one of the last few standing, many of the other dark elves and the others from their group having retired or gone elsewhere to do something or another. She was sure they weren't far though so there was no need to worry.

Of course though when she catches sight of the few male dark elves around Crysta can't help but get a bit curious about them. After all, her mind was thinking back to things Trista had told her about dark elves in popular fiction and how they were very matriarchal. That really didn't seem to be the case here but, well, there was other things to talk about. She walks over, tugging along Amra with her as she goes to talk to them. "Good evening gentlemen!", she greets before continuing. "You work in some mines right? Do you mine anything besides those uh, magic crystals I guess?", she asks as a general ice breaker.

The men glance at you, and you notice their slumped shoulders beginning to straighten as they at least make a passing attempt at appearing attractive to the pair of you. He's got a strange accent, and he doesn't seem to be as used to this as you'd think. Of course, there's also the fact that he's a miner, whereas the chieftess is, well, a chieftess. All of the men here seem to be sweaty and tired, although none of them are willing to let the pair of you go unimpressed with their masculinity, although their smaller elf frames leave something to be desired in terms of manliness. Almost gymnast body frames, much like the elves.

"I see!", Crysta says, doing her best to keep up with the drow men as they explain their trade a little bit and what they do. The conversation goes on for about five minutes or so, where it is quite clear to Crysta there is definitely somewhat of another language barrier. She may know Imperial common now, but she assumed that these elves must usually speak some tongue native to them for the most part. Granted many of the other elves, such as the Chieftess, spoke common just fine. Perhaps dark elf men were expected to sort of stay put? They hardly looked like slaves given they were allowed to take part in the party and weren't mistreated. Just tired really.

Whatever the case though, such thoughts are sort of tertiary to her. She was really there sizing them up, and really, they weren't bad. They were no stereotypical muscle bound hunks, but they were plenty attractive in their own way. They looked lithe and fast, sort of true to the elvish stereotype, and for a woman who mostly liked other women, she liked that! Plus, well... there was also the fact tat so far, she had only had sex with two males since getting to this world... and they were a horse and dragon!

But still, she always had to be a little concerned with that magical glyph on her stomach. She had been some shown some magic to momentarily deactivate it by Amra, which had let them have all sorts of sex the last couple weeks without risk, but, well, she was a little inebriated, and quite not as well practiced on it as she would like. A few of the males seem like they're interested, but don't know how to ask in common. It isn't the kind of thing that pops up in a lot of conversations. At that exact moment though, a female drow approaches, her eyes locked on yours and Amra's chests. Just as Crysta was finishing up her conversation with the elf men, a rather drunk dark elf woman appears. Crysta blinks in surprise when she shows up, a slight wobble to her step and a drink in her hand. The men nearby shy away when she comes forward and starts blatantly hitting on her and Amra, losing their nerve somewhat in the presence of the forward elf. A moment later though she has to struggle to not laugh at how one of her preconceived notions of all elves being the epitome of self control and grace is shattered, as this elf was anything but! Still, she was quite pretty. Tall and dark skinned with long snow white hair, and tight clothing that more or less drew eyes to the fact that she was apparently a herm with that cylindrical bulge in her pants. Oh, I suppose I should mention that drow don't have Rhea as their primary goddess, they have someone else, so their dominant spellcraft is different. Lots of general magic stuff and the same stuff you'd see out of dwarves rather than elves.

The elf herm sniffs at the inclusion of the males, clearly thinking herself more than enough male for the group. Of course, she also doesn't know that you can return the favor as you like. The men seem conflicted at her frown, but don't bow out, more than willing to take a tongue lashing in order to get laid. She thinks for a moment... make that four or five as she struggles to string more than a few things together. Her face brightens as she thinks of somewhere useful, heading toward a small hill with a depression that leads into one of their cave homes.

Crysta giggles a little bit at the drow's little sniffle, but she seems to relent quickly enough after a little bit of thought. Before she knows it she's being led into an apparent cave dwelling with Amra and the two braver guys in tow. Crysta has to admit the place is much nicer then she expected! It had nice smooth flattened floors with lines and art carved into them. There was plenty of nice quality wooden furniture, and individual rooms with special wooden walls built to separate them, but no doors. Just curtains it by the looks of it. There was also a curious lack of a main entrance as well, which goes a long way to show the trust the drow must have in all the folks of their community! Granted though, it was also quite possible they had some other form of... magical alarm perhaps, lest some random critter or monster or even bandits try skulking about.

Interestingly enough they don't even seem to go to a bedroom though, as the drowess quickly strips down right in the main hall! Granted there was all sorts of couches and comfy things to sit on around a large central fire place, but still the sudden quickness of it was surprising! Crysta had been taking in the sight of the cave home around her then looked forward to see the drow woman completely nude!
