I'll be making a hero character as well to balance the game out if there happened to be more monsters!

Background: Victoria was a daughter of a renown and prestigious house of knights within the kingdom of Arken. That of course would only be compounded when she was born under the Hero star seeing that her life would be groomed from the start to greatness. Her family spared no expense to ensure their literal star child was given the best education especially when it came to swordsman ship. But even with all of this a young Victoria was quite a problem child constantly sneaking away from her trainers and instructors to play with other kids even forming a bond with a young servant boy. As she grew older and older so did the sheltering she was regulated to the estate on most days training to no end as her mind began to wander, especially toward the servant boy, who has grown into a man. On one particular night after a hard day of training Victoria had a bath drawn for her when none of the handmaids were around "accidentally" showing off her body to the servant then spent the rest of the night working off 18 years of frustration. After that day the Rose had developed a bit of a thing for being violated by lowborn members of society. When Victoria came of age and needed to make a name for herself she set off with a spirit embolden by the hero star and a heart filled with lustful desires, often frequenting Inns at the dead of night wearing nothing but a ruby colored cloak.

ah, people are making characters now. guess now's a good time to join in, then.

and seeing as how there's now 2 heroes, i guess i'm free to make my monster, instead.

True Name: Nuri'ak'tun the peacemaker
Age: 27 years.

Appearance: Nuria for the most part looks mostly like a normal human, albeit with a few small and large oddities. Standing at 6'5", he towers above most normal humans. This combined with slightly elongated arms and legs gives a very willowy look. He has long, flowing black hair and pale white skin. What really differentiates him from a human however is a pair of pure white, feathered wings. These wings are for now, mostly just for show as he can only use them to however a few centimeters off the ground or use to get a larger jump then normal. The other main feature however is the face, once again its mostly human except his mouth, and eyes are both sewn shut with a strange, pitch black fiber. Despite this, he can still talk and see, sorta.
Background: Nuria was born in a magical, tainted pool in which few things emerge from. An old and mostly unique species dreamt up by a ancient demon lord long before recorded history, Nuria was, as far as he knew, alone in this world. He wandered most of his comparatively short life, unlike most monsters he did not want to pillage and corrupt. He wanted to learn. His primal urges were rather meek for a monster, and so he was able to travel to wherever he wished without much of a trail. He went to abandoned towns and cities and isolated monster settlements. He would gather as much knowledge of the land, the people, the history. He felt as though he had a purpose, he was born for a specific reason. The more he learned and the more he travelled, the more that purpose started to dawn on him. And when he felt the magic churning in the air, and a vile but familiar taste in the winds, he knew in his mind what he wanted to do. So he set forth once again, but this time, with a clear goal.

Background: Mystalin led a simple life, she was a bartender at a local inn, it was nice, although sometimes patrons would get a little handsy with her, not that she minded.that was until some particularly rowdy men from town kidnapped her took her out to the woods for some fun and left her out there for dead. She was attacked by various monsters and was on deaths door when a cloaked man with pale skin came to her. He saved her life. He saved her life by killing her and making her into a vampire like himself. She and the cloaked man returned to the town a week later and the vampire Myst killed each and every one of those scumbags. Since then, she has been mastering her vampiric arts, she is a skilled magic user, as well as a master of seduction.

3. Steed - The mage is able to summon a local beast of burden, which is suitably under their thrall to be able to ride.
4. Minor Demon - Opening a gate to the demon realm, the mage is able to coax out a minor demon. Binding contracts are suggested.
5. Lesser Undead - The mage pulls at the underworld, causing a mindless undead to rise up.
6. Guardian - At this level, the mage can summon a sentient creature to do their bidding. As they are sentient, they may refuse to perform some actions

Background: Cecilia Rossa was once a normal elf, living in an isolated village far from anything. It was peaceful, and she grew up knowing very little of the world. She was taught how to hunt at a young age, as was everyone else in the village. She was most attuned with the bow, as she was said to have a fairly sharp eye. When she was mature enough, she was signed onto the village's hunting party, whose job was to go out and collect for the village. On one such expedition; the hunting party came across bandits, and they had to fend them off. Unfortunately, in all of the combat and the confusion, Cecilia was attacked from behind and kidnapped. The bandits had taken her back to their camp, where she was handed over to their boss, another elf named Fenric. It turned out that he was a monster, and seeing something in her, he steadily broke and corrupted her mind. She forgot many things regarding who she once was, and once she had fully changed over and became a monster; she was given the name of Cresca.

Fast forward into the future, and she had became Fenric's loyal pet, completing any and all tasks he wished. She was seen as his right hand in the camp, and she had developed a rather fearsome reputation as a skilled killer. Due to her skill and dependability; her master Fenric had given her the most important job she's ever been given. She was to infiltrate the Human Lands and investigate the recent change in the magical energies, something Fenric himself had noticed.

i noticed. that's a common thing whenever i directly link to the image, it seems. i'd have to edit it over and over for it to display properly, so instead i just linked to the page itself.

What i normally do is use a screenshoting software called puush, it lets me capture full screen pages but also just capture snippets of w/e is currently on the monitor and thats how i do all of my character images if the source is too large or something, program is free as well only downside is that if you screencap too much your previous screencaps get removed(free accounts only have like 1gb worth, premium accounts have way more)

Nyx used to be a promising young sorceress during the times of the Lord of Demons. She wouldn't have described herself as heroic type and she was far from pure and virtuous, but she still joined one of the more heroic groups to fight the Lord of Demons, even if it was out of self-interest, not in pursue of some noble goals. It worked, for a while, but eventually she and her companions overestimated their own skills and were defeated by Demon Lord's minions. Some were killed, others, Nyx amongst them, were captured. Nyx was imprisoned, humiliated, raped and tortured by Demon Lord's monsters.

Eventually, she was killed when she was no longer "fun".

Then, after some time, the Lord of Demons was defeated. But Nyx wasn't around to see it.

Then, after much longer time, she woke again.

Pain and panic. My own warm blood drenching my bare skin. Darkness quickly spreading from the edges of my vision. Voices of laughing monsters. Desperation and the terrible knowledge I'll die in a moment. My strength quickly leaving my body. Darkness. Loss of consciousness. Nothing.

Sudden awakening, back in my cell. It must have been a nightmare, but it was so vivid! I shiver, and not just because the cell feels colder than usual, and reach for my throat, to make sure there's no wound. I touch only smooth, cold skin and calm myself a little. Wait... something seems wrong. It takes me moment to realize that the shackles which bound my wrists for last few weeks no longer weights my hands down. I look down, and they are still there, but much rustier than I remember. And something else.

Bones. I'm sitting in bones.

A terrible suspicion dawns.

It was not a dream. These bones... they are MY bones. I jump to my legs, and my feet doesn't kick the skeleton when it should touch it, but goes straight through.

I'm dead. I'm dead, yet somehow still here. The bones, the rust... it must've been a long time. I feel surprisingly calm, considering the circumstances. What happened? How long has it been? What am I? How can I still be here? I walk through the cell's door, and though I can't open it, the rusted bars don't stop me.

I'll have to find out.

West of the Five Old Men, hidden among the boundless forests there is a group of fanatics, a secret cult bent on human superiority and monster extermination.
Various school of thoughts may linger among their members, yet their ultimate object remains the same: eradicate all that may pose a threat to the human and their lands, through any means possible.
They are the Heavenly Ghost Sect.

Every years they use various means to gather orphans, educating on their doctrines and turning them into devout believers and faithful disciples of their sect.
Sae herself was one of those orphans, but her path would become far different than most of her peers as she excelled far more than all the others.
Her talent made her stand out enough to become a nominee for the title of Holy Daughter, an exalted position bestowed only upon the most gifted and skilful of the female disciples, and eventually earn that rank and become the object of worship for innumerable fellow disciples of the sect.

The title of Holy Daughter however didn't came only with reverent idolization. It also implied heavy responsibilities, and as the shadow of a new Monster Lord appeared it became her duty to go out in the world, slaying monsters and following the orders from the Sect as they came, becoming a beacon of light for her fellow disciples scattered among the lands to fight evil and another hidden protector for the people of this world.

I go to a convention for the weekend, do a couple of days work, and suddenly there are eight character sheets!

I will get the gear written up after work tomorrow. Hopefully I will be able to snag some quiet time while things are baking to do some preliminary stuff on card while at work.

I am very, very tired. Having been given 2 weeks of work where I need to be awake at 5am, and then do 8 hours of work (with only 30 minutes of break) in a kitchen, and almost never finishing on time, is taking its toll.

Still, here's what I have managed to make for gear. It is kind of primitive at the moment.

If I understand magic correctly, with magic 11, my character should know 11 spells, but as there are only 10 spells in each school, I can't learn so many, because if I choose to use the "extra" spell to learn a spell from another school, I'm suddenly limited to one spell from each school, going down to (at most) 4 spells known (as there are 4 schools). Is that correct? Also, will we get explaination what other spells do?
If it takes me two weeks or more to respond to a RP without prior notice, send me a PM. It's more likely I've missed the last post, forgot or got distracted and need a little reminder rather than deciding to drop the game without warning.

You have 11 in magic, so you have 11 spells known. You can specialise in one school and learn all 10 of them, and then the first from another school, or divide those 11 points up between whatever schools you want. Or not bother. You cannot, however, have the rank 2 spell from any school without the rank 1 spell first.

And yes, you will. Probably on Wednesday, once I'm not super tired from working 8 hours with only 15 minutes break every day in a bakery.
