Brothel Tycoon v0.0.5 Alpha HTML5

Controls
W S A D or Up Down Left Right - Navigate Map

You own and run brothel

•Buy girls and make them work for you ( stripping, blowjobs, sex, ect)
•Use money to research new upgrades and buy accessories for your workers
•Discipline girls who misbehave
•Bribe public officials to allow you to expand
•And much much more!

Not really playable yet (I barely just started making it), merely placed to give you an idea of how the game is going to be.

I appreciate feedback and constructive criticism.

When Beta is release, I will make executable files as well so you can run the game in window, rather than browser.

Ok that this is the v.0.0.1, but it's also the first public version of the game. In this case, this means that it is important to do a good impression to a possible audience and to do that properly, you should have created at least the the mechanics related to the management of the brothel. Something that you didn't even do. You just created an empty map with some characters who runs randomly around it. The only good thing i saw in this is the status menu of the prostitutes, because it's the most cured mechanic in game.

You make sense, I agree.

As I am making the game, I realize there are 100s of ways it could be made, so I thought having this topic open: people will input their ideas and provide feedback.

For example, would people prefer a static pre-built brothel, or one where you can customize?

I get a huge chunk done every day, should have a playable version very soon.

Glad you liked the panel, I spent a considerable amount of time on it :D

Still no actual gameplay, but I'm almost there.
The panels took longer than expected.
Now you can hire/fire "workers" as well as drag them around.
H-scene next update

I'm not a fan of downloading things, can you upload the HTML5 to somewhere so that it can be played online? I know you can do this on NewGrounds with the project system if you have an account there.

I posted it on newgrounds, then got cold feet and unpublished it. Game is in alpha and I don't want to get any bad reviews, sorry. Beta should be about in a couple days which I'll post there

You don't have to fully publish it on NewGrounds. There is a Projects Menu, you can make a new game project, upload the game file, but you don't have to publish it until you are ready. Just make sure that the setting is for all people to view, not just project members, which is the default.

Even if the game needs to be updated with some game mechanics, i really liked the touch of the street outside with all cars and i'm pretty interested by the politics option. It's something that i didn't expect in a game like this one and it could make it pretty complex. In the future, i just suggest you to make the brothel a little bigger and add some rooms where the prostitutes can have sex with their clients (even if it's pretty obvious). And when you say that you're going to implement an art update in game, do you mean the sprites you will use in game or character sprites or CGs, which will be used to show the aspect of the prostitutes and their sexual activities?

The Politics option is simply where you "bribe" (research) upgrades (since brothels are technically illegal, trying to add a little bit realism).
The brothel is going to be huge, the only part I don't know what to do is whether to add a custom building options (where you build the walls, buy the beds and place wherever you want, place stripping poles where you wish) or would that just make it too complicated and I should just have everything preset?

As for the H-Scene, it's simply updating the game sprites. I'm not much of an artist. Some of the buttons/objects like the "hire" button is made by me, others with a CC0 license. If the game is a success, there will be a definite BT2 with incredible graphics with professional artists working on it

I like playing building games, so placing beds, stripping poles, etc wherever I want would be fun. I think I would want to have a default set-up to start with, so that I don't have to spend time on that to get to sexy times.

If you want to get something higher quality for girl characters, consider using some 3D graphics. There are a lot available for free, or for a couple of bucks:

Some of the models are already rigged, otherwise, you can use Blender's Meta-Rig (totally free) to get a useful rig pretty quickly. Then you can use the scene camera to "film" them and get a 2D sprite.

Well, the fact that the brothel are illegal depends in what country it is in. Maybe you could make two differents modes about it: an easy one where you don't need to worry about the law (in a country where it is legal) and a hard one with some problems with the law (in a country where it is illegal).
About the possible art to use as CG for the future, i would give my services for free as artist if you interested in my art style http://lenbasisky.deviantart.com/gallery/
But before to do that i would want to see more updates to see how it will be improved. Just tell me what you think about it.

Thanks for the tips. If BT is a success, I'll definitely upgrade the graphics entirely in #2

So far I pretty much have everything I need for graphics, except the title image, if you like doing that sort of thing. I do like your art, can you make sprites? Maybe you can help in the future Brothel Tycoon 2

If for "sprites" you mean pictures as that ones in my art galleries, yes. But how i said previously i want to see how you will improve your game before to start any collaboration with you. And a question: how do you think to develop the policts options that i saw in game?
