Dawn had set in, finally, and was slowly turning the city below her into a dark, unsafe place for average citizens to be roaming about. These were usually the hours where the mice of the city hid themselves, as the cats came to play. These hours were full of peril, with gangs lurking around every dark corner. Normally, a lone unarmed woman would be at risk; if she would be roaming the streets, that is. Here, out on the roofs, there were no gangs to jump you. No thugs to creep up from behind you. Except for one man. She was not sure he was a man, to be honest, but that dark figure jumping from one rooftop to the other sure as hell was nimble. Broad shoulders too, she pondered, but the thought had left her mind already. Kirin was a detective, specialized in hunting down criminals and bringing them to justice. And this figure had been seen leaving multiple crime scenes, triggering Kirin's detective instincts. She had been following the figure for a while now, remaining hidden and out of sight; able to see through objects using a magic spell.
Her array of spells were by no means vast, but with those three spells she had under her command she was none the less a force to be reckoned with. Not offence, oh lord no, but if a criminal was trying to escape she could easily track him down using her spell of life detection. A purple hue would replace the image of the person, and using this spell she was able to detect every person in a certain mile radius, even in pitch black.
And that's how she had managed to keep track of the figure. As he had been jumping from one roof to the other, she had easily been able to keep up without losing sight of her pray.
Finally the figure stopped, and looked around. She hid herself behind a chimney instantly, only noticing moments later that it had become too dark already for the person to see her from this distance. As she watched, he suddenly jumped down the roof onto a lower level building, after which he turned around and opened something in the wall of the building he had just jumped off of. A window probably, or a door. She grinned; she had found his lair.
She made her way over and leaped down as silently as possible, landing on the roof with only a soft thud. She turned around and tried to see what it was the figure had used, but all she saw was a cold stone wall.
"Curses!" She muttered. "Must be a hidden door! I hate those things..." With her hands running over the wall and her fingers digging into every small orifice, she started feeling her way to the secret button or lever allowing her entrance, even if it would take her all night.
(woot, long-ass post ftw :3 that'll teach ya one-sentence posters! hohoho~)
Breathe easy, the doctors are about to arrive.
