Edit: Thread:
viewtopic.php?f=25&t=7737So, I got the request to try and run one of these, and I was curious to do this. I'm open for GM or player, if somebody else wants to run it. I've never done groups before, but I'm willing to take a crack at it. I'm a very laid back GM, and I tend to like to plan things out with my players, although I can keep secrets if I hatch a good plan.
The general set up is a modern urban fantasy of a school/college for monster hunting. Characters are broken down by 'class' which defines their skills, rather than purely their roll. Players will be part of a four person team, and they'll need to hash out responsibilities and team roll in game. The bulk of the characters time is spent practicing their skills in class, as a team, and in a 'danger room' set up, with eventual forays into the world to hunt demons and such. I tend to run magic as moderately powerful, but characters will generally exhaust themselves if they push too hard. Magic outside of combat is more likely to succeed, and planning ahead is encouraged.
As with most urban fantasy, you'll find zombies, werewolves and vampires and such, but I'm cool with most fictional creatures. The more magically powerful, the more likely they are to be ruled by whims or instinct, and thus more likely to attack humans. Humans are strongly dominant, but demi-humans are present. For the most part, school staff accepts both demi's and monsters with self control.
