Hey guys, i'm currently working on a Action adventure game called Soulmancers, It was heavily inspired by gameplay from DoTA but each playable character will have its own unique playstyle and game mechanics. For example the current character (Scarlet) plays pretty much as a point and click action game with hotkeys set to Q,W,E,R,D,F but the upcoming Gunslinger will feature WASD movement, 1,2,3,4 as hotkeys and mouse for aiming the gun.

Rather than setting difficulty levels at the start of the game, I have built in adaptive Difficulty that increases depending on the amount of damage that the player deals to enemies in rapid succession. The theory is that the more damage you are able to deal while taking less damage means that you are more adept at the game. It definitely still needs tweaking as its very easy to max out the current difficulty. Each difficulty level grants bonuses such as cooldown reductions and damage Increase. now the damage is universal so the player as well as the enemy get a bonus % increase in their damage.

I would love if you guys could give it a try and let me know how it plays, if you like it/hate it, comments on the gameplay is encouraged as I plan to make the gameplay as crisp as possible.

Haven't played yet, will post when I do, but I gotta wait on me slow internet connection. Just wanted to mention, I love the idea of each character having their own controls and mechanics, make it feel like a different game and all. I wanted to ask, will there be other differences between the characters? Plot, locations, allies, enemies, etc.?

Quite an enjoyable little game, definitely has a lot of potential.
My only criticism is that Scarlet feels a little clunky as you have to use the mouse to move as well as aim along with the lengthy cast times on even basic abilities, however it looks like the gunslinger wont have this problem if it works how you described.

I'd love to see more

Good concept and the H animation you have is great, even if its only one. The combat doesnt feel nearly as smooth as DOTA however. Theres no auto attacks/attack move, and the spells are unclear of how much damage they do or how big of an area they effect. Also the music was way more loud than the woman speaking, so I could barely hear her most of the time.

Still though, I come for the H content, and what you have so far is really good. Looking forward to seeing what you add next.

Thats the idea yes, but for now everyone will be starting at the same place and have the same missions. The idea is that Scarlet is looking for power and Blair (the elf) is looking for Fame.

glad you liked it, the next update will bring with it sound sliders for FX, Voice and Music (no global as of yet). Also as for the combat not being as smooth I agree. DoTA uses cast points of 0.1 or 0.2, the highest I can think is 0.8 and those feel eternal, how ever DoTA is also online and you play against real people so the effects need to be cast asap. this game on the other hand has Cast points of 0.8, to 1.2 for balancing purposes against AI, That being said I am in no way as good as OsFrog at balancing games so It will take some time to finetune it. As for the right clicks Scarlet has none, but the other character will, Its part of the gameplay mechanics to make sure every character feels completely different to play so you can choose the one you feel most comfortable playing, or you know, the one you like the porn of most while bringing to the table some replay ability.

The gunslinger will have problems of her own. such as spread on her shots (there has to be some downside to having a 0 cast point on all your abilities)
