Personally, I don't care if you're "loyal" to Breeding Season as long as you make a good game. I'm not much of a story-hound myself, I skipped through almost all of the story from Breeding Season. If you're going to include story elements, try to pace it out at least, or allow the player to pursue the story elements at their leisure once the gameplay has already kicked off.

8-heads tall proportion is more of an American convention. Anime almost never goes to 8 heads tall, that would represent more of a disfigured bad guy or suspicious character rather than the heroic look it would usually signify in an American cartoon. (Although there are noteworthy exceptions like Sailor Moon's Tuxedo Mask, who can drift between 8 and 10 heads tall, although one could argue that he is, or at least starts out as, a suspicious character and that's part of his appeal, but then Andrew is the same height and he's a complete nice-guy character, although one could argue that Andrew represents an intimidating obstacle since serena feels shy about approaching him) But yeah, like Yoko Littner is usually around 6 heads tall. Art teachers seem to think that if they can ignore Anime hard enough it will just disappear.

So I was thinking, if you're keeping alternate forms, it would be cool to have a super boob size variation. Maybe some monster like cow girls has the variation naturally and you can spread it by breeding with other stuff. Although that would be tricky if you can only make babies with the opposite gender.

I don't know why I felt like I need to draw it, but there it is.

Unless that applies to like the dicks? After all, some people are into those large insertions that bulges out when they're fucking someone.

It's not my thing, but on the one hand that does play into the cartoonish aspect by having these large members and all. That could work as the opposite to big boobs, right?

A super tired Shames here so this will be an informal update more then anything I've posted update wise before. I'll try my best to address everyone's concerns an Ungawa has quite a few it seems. Lets start with Ace as it seems the easiest to handle, Demon Bunnies were something me and Valtur were discussing last night actually, nothing concrete in terms of design and story but we both liked the idea of the Lola Bunny style of rabbit ;).

And lastly and probably the hardest to answer is Ungawa. I hear your concerns for it basically becoming Pocket Monstergirls, and to that all I can say is its very far from the case. The Issue I always had with pokemon (and I'll get some flak for it) is relatively anything from a Caterpillar to a giant bird thats on fire has the same combat potential a level 100 caterpie and a level 100 Moltres can be held on equal grounds. That to me made little sense and its why we have a concept that certain monsters are better for things then others. A house catgirl isn't going to beat a vicious wolfgirl in a fight. I can't comment on our story yet but mechanics wise I can say, things will be unique enough to be different but close enough to bs to keep the feel

To be fair, this is mainly a minor issue to me and you're free to take the project any direction that you want. Like others have voiced, they don't have the same concerns as I do and I'm only a fly on the wall that's buzzing about why I was interested in Breeding Season. I'd love to have an arena, I just don't want it to be the only focus of the game. Maybe if you're close to paying it off, the empire decides to screw you over and charge extra interest to which you can only pay it off by getting into arena fights and raising up more dangerous animals, which can make a world of sense given that it's so much more dangerous than farming from under a saintly monster breeder.

Although I do think your Pokemon issue begs the question of how they have the same combat potential. Is it because of the "rock paper scissors" type style of play of Pokemon and do you think that more vicious animals should have some sort of natural advantage over their rival? Also, it kind of also begs the question of what happens when you lose to a monster if it's an arena battle...

As the person who's main job is designing and implementing combat, i can assure anyone with concerns that it will be entirely optional. An auto resolve will be provided as long as you have enough monsters to fight. That being said, leading the army yourself will result in higher win chances and better rewards. The game will still revolve around breeding, but combat will be an optional way of acquiring more resources and add a fun tactical dimension for those who enjoy it.

We are working on a demo, it is not finished yet but it is coming along. When the demo is ready, it will be appearing under a different name and we will provide a link to the new thread.

I like how a bunch of new stuff has been inspired by breeding season. If there was a way to get a hold of the flash file I'd love to finish it. It should be put to rest. Lets make new things, there are tons of things you can do with monster breeding as the starting point.

If anybody's interested in making a team. I'm experienced in art, animation, coding, planning, scripting, charts, and writing. I'm not the best but i can do them pretty well. Organization is my weakness. Not good though i try so hard.

Hey just wanted to say thanks to you guys for trying to bring this game back. It was one of my favorite upcoming games and was really sad to see it go. I suck at anything related to game making, but if you ever need help with anything simple to make it easier for you guys i'd be glad to help :D

Sup, Harem. Another fellow and I are working on a Game Maker game. We need pixel art/animations and fullsize renders of the female lead. PM me with some of your previous work if interested. If your work is approved by the team lead, you'll probably be able to start working immediately :D.

To everyone who is offering help, thank you very much. The team i am part of has just the right spread of skills so we are no longer actively looking for help. Having said that, there are plenty of other projects that needed skilled people to work on them so don't be afraid to pop your head above the parapet and advertise what you can offer. The more that is created the better.

Or you could further the path BS was on and create a mod-able engine. Speaking of an "API", naming conventions and tools to be able to create animations the game is then able to parse and can then be used in game.
FleetArt had many tools set up, such as a tool to name assets correctly or setting the assets up to be functioning with the color picker.

That'd be the best way to get the community involved; giving them the ability to get their own animation in the game.

Not sure if Ren'Py would support modding, though. But yeah, that would be the best fastest way to expand the game. Much like super deepthroat, the game would be entirely community driven and the best art would get voted up and shit. Prob would be possible with javascript/html5 or flash, or regular java. Would need someone server-side with knowledge to set up database and user accounts.

While a community editor is a lovely goal, too much too soon guys. To mod a game you first need to have a game. Touching on Shames' point on artists and commissions, we can't pander to every idea that is suggested or feature creep will set in and rot the project like it did Breeding Season. In the future perhaps that may be a possibility but for now we are focused on creating a game we think everyone will enjoy and that we enjoy making. Simply put, yes we would like to do it, but one step at a time. When the game has progressed to a stable and well established point, then we can consider it.

We've discussed means of community involvement as a team but we can't make a single promise until we have reached the point we can implement those promises within a reasonable time frame.

Yeah, we rather not have them associated with our game. Simply put, it's mostly because of what Doxy said in their response to S-Purple, that they want to "steal" the art to make something similar for BS, which is triggering all sorts of red flags. It'll be safer to get new designs going for this game, for simply because we don't want to be associated with either S-Purple or H-Bomb just in case they want to do something that might involve any legal cases.

So we got an artist for this and we while it'll be nice for Doxy to be interested in the game, they're not the best choice...
