When you run into the Ghenalese succubi during the succubus hunts, the whole screen goes black and you cant see anything at all once the battle is over. Just wanted to let you know for the next bug fix you do. I also attached a picture showing what I mean both with the menu open and menu closed.

And you're playing the newest version? Aww, man, I thought I had this fixed. -_-

Basically, here's the deal: if you bring up a text box right when the timer flips over to the second part of that event, the timer is screwed up and the scene won't transition. I thought I'd removed every way to do this, but I guess you found another one. Anyway, just play again and don't initiate an event on the exact second the timer hits that point.

I'm already doing that. This time when I run the succubus path I'm gonna ignore the rest of the succubus during the hunt

I honestly feel like an idiot at the moment, but is there a way to beat the magekillers during Megail's groups path? I just tried and could hardly do anything without them decimating me

Forgive me but their names just escaped my memory but I used shield wall on the warrior then 2 times shield of purity from the healer and the bandit was dps. I boosted the bandit with the warrior but I also had 3 thief pins equipped. My gear was junk other than that though. I think I had some steel on some of them but that was it. Just make the the shield wall never runs out as well as the double stack of the shield of purity buff. Use bash sometimes and heal as needed. May take a bit but see if that helps. W/O the pins you will have to deal with alot of poison but it is still possible.

Equip your thief's pins, you should have 4 of them from Stineford if you were killing spiders in the abandoned house.

Then all Carina has to worry about is the damage, it's been too long since I've played that path, I can't recall if HIlstara's provoke worked on them, I think it does then just burn them down. You should hopefully have the full plate and tower shield for Hilstara but if not, use dwarven armor and helmet, Carina should have a rune shield from Yhilini, and Varia should have steel weapons and armor. Note* 2 steel claws will raise her defence somewhat while a sword and claw will raise her attk, and 2 swords will raise attack even more.

And like Talmon said Encourage from Hilstara, and if you Varia is reshaped she can Encourage herself as well, makes for a nice damage buff, and yes don't forget Carina's def buff.

Hope that helps some.

OK, got to where I was the last time (when the party split up)...is one path any *better* to do first or is it just whatever preference you want?

You *can* do whatever path you want, but I usually do Aka first, I actually lucked out and did her route first just because she was the first permanent member that I had gotten, but if you don't do Aka's route first, I don't think you'll get the optimal result for "curing" her condition. Honestly I'm not sure, I've never done any of the routes before Aka.

So, I do Aka, Megail, and then Yarra, not sure if you've read the wiki or not, but it would be well worth the effort especially with optional bosses, and I'd unequip the characters before the end / beginning of each path so you can use items as you want.

There are no substantial differences - the game doesn't even record the order you do the routes. The only differences are meta-game things, since money and items are shared. You could do one route to get money to spend in another route, for example, or get a good optional item on one and then equip it in another. I believe the wiki has some discussion of the differences in possible orders.

In the wiki, we did a poll and the favorite order was:

Yarra, Aka, Megail: 34 (47,89 %)

The Yarra's Path has no influence in the other two, so can be done in any position. For other two there are minor advantages to do it Aka's first. Nothing big, but if you're in doubt...

Also, Rafael367's walkthrough suggests Aka, Megail and Yarra. The other walkthrough don't have a opinion ;) ;) .

I know that this is a crazy question and I'm going to sound like a complete little (insert expletive of choice here). But is there any way to skip past the "Merchant Trouble" quest. I've tried a few times and I can't get past the chasing unmen/unwomen/zombies. And I think it's because they really creep me out. I pretty much freak out every time I get to that part.

Will the game eventually get art for its scenes?

Have you checked the wiki / guides? I did it by saving before I went out and then did it by process of elimination, but then found out there was loot in the rooms that I was missing too. It is doable, and once you get the pattern down, you'll pull a Homer Simpson, I promise you.

Edit: I also make a save once the party has their talk about the change from the unpeople standing in the previous room and the ones moving. Note: All you *have* to do is get to Megail the rest is gravy like the noble statues in the room across from Megail, or all the armor / shining sword in the other rooms.

She's already said she is looking at different artists for pics for the game. I'm sure that when (hopefully not if) this happens this project should be considered the gold standard for games in this genre for years to come...

I noticed something, it's actually quite small, but shows the depth to which Sierra made this and why it's so great...

In the Stineford region, Succubus Tower, there's a succubus who explains about sex weapons and armor. Near her is a statue. and if you click on the statue a succubus says *if you want it, it's 1000 Sx!* Never knew clicking on that statue did anything (clicking on any of the other statues doesn't do anything). It's a minor thing but shows Sierra wanted to make it as enjoyable as possible!

Been a few days...guess it's OK to post again

Outside of the EXTREMELY DIFFICULT harbor fights (I gave up on it, damn those moths and snails...) REALLY liked the new stuff. After seeing the unmen/unwomen when you bust Megail out then seeing more *normal* unmen/unwomen gave an interesting take on things. I'm not sure it's a bug or not, but Aka avoided the failsafe power attack when you are trying to bust Dari out...and it was still game over, even though Aka could probably have finished it off (it was close to being defeated). One other thing of interest is The empress's daughter that joins you...she is a HOOT!

Biggest problem (outside of the harbor fights) was the magekillers during Megail's route, although after knocking two off it was pretty easy.

The harbor fights are hard but not impossible, I'd say keep trying, but don't burn yourself out over it.

Looks like my last playthrough I had a 32 Simon, 31 Qum, and a 30 Robin / Altina for the very last fight. That would be the 3 turtles off the dock, other then that mana up between fights, and burn the moths, then the squid and then the turtles.

I was so pissed the first time I fought the magekillers, but honestly the Fallen Champion is worse, I almost always end up with nearly all of my party members dead or near death and I finish him with less the 100 hp on Orcent. And that's using Orc potions.

And yes, Nalili is a hottie. :D

Version 0.20.0 is out for backers! Meanwhile, here is a preview of some of this update's content:

Though the elves have been on the margins of the story so far, this update will take you straight into the heart of their forest kingdoms:
Image

Since this is the largest forest on the continent, I wanted it to feel different from the forests that have been seen so far. That required me to take my mapping up a notch and commission some stuff, but I think the resulting area looks nice:
Image

Now that you rule a kingdom, you're not entering conflicts as a minor party. This update will introduce both sides of this conflict.
Image

Next time, you'll have to choose a side...

Expect the public release of this update in about a week - see you then!
