Sylvia grew up in a small human colony on the planet Ahona where resources were in abundance. Unfortunately, the same thing could be said about the local ecosystem. The wast amount of resources was able to support a much bigger ecosystem than Earth ever could, including much more predators who also happen to be of a bigger scale. The colonists are no strangers to battle since wildlife attacks them on a daily basis. While the colonists are able to repel them, it sometimes comes at a cost. In Sylvia's case, it was most of her lower body and arms. Considering the amount of organs and the blood loss she went through, it was a miracle that she survived. Fortunately, the collaboration between mechanics and doctors managed not to only save her life, but also to replace the parts of her body that she ended up losing. Inspired and eternally grateful, Sylvia began dedicating her life to doing the same by learning robotics and medicine to the point that she could very well preform the same feat. (Only partially due to her having to learn how to replace and repair her own parts to keep herself healthy and properly maintained.) With her new knowledge, as well as her old knowledge, she essentially became a field medic specialized in robotics connected to the nervous system. This in turn made her an valuable asset during the war. And now, when the fighting finally (hopefully) seems to be over, she's considering to take up a job as a teacher instead, teaching the younger generations whatever she has to offer.

Gynoids in specific are based on human female body types. Whether they are anatomically correct depends on the individual. Some enjoy the risque, others choose to be entirely practical and forgo breasts altogether. Depending on the job the gynoid performs, their body might have additional parts and characteristics, as well as tools and possibly weaponry hidden inside.
For example: a soldier might have an in-built cannon, a carrier might have wheels or jets, a mechanic might have additional arms etc.

Character background: Ophelia, as she likes to be called, was made as a star ship mechanic. Insides, outside, wherever she was needed it was her job to fix the problem. To this day she has the same job, but she actually enjoys it. Originally being ordered around like she was just a drone was a pain in the ass and she made it known, quite vocally. Despite a rather... cute appearance, she doesn't have a barrier between her thoughts and her mouth. She speaks her mind, even if what's on her mind is extremely rude. That said, her age makes her more experienced than just her programming would imply, she knows her way around the problem most of the time.

Ophelia has modified her body to appear far more risque than necessary of her position. As there aren't as many nudity related laws in place for machines, she can technically get away with it. Plus she enjoys showing off while she works, in both ways.
She really doesn't care about either the peace discussions or the war. The latter got her more work to do, when you get right too it. Currently, Ophelia is working at the Pax-Station to get most of its systems back online for the festivities.
