"close enough" i said to myself while making some coffee, struggling with these stupid after-spider-bite, of course, all my morning worries dissapear when i took the first sip of my coffee, then i undress to take a shower and leaving to work, this day can't get worse, does it?, and when i was finally ready, i leave my apartment to keep going with my life, if i could move, if not i had to report myself sick and stay at home

you stop sticking to things soon enough how long that would last for however you couldn't be sure, but for now it was business as usual, no one seemed aware that you'd been bitten for now, which was probably just as well you didn't want to become a science experiment

well, at least i wasn't the weird girl sticking to something, i go to the secret elevator and press the button, soon, i was going down and finally, the door open, the bige Star gate-like Portal to other dimensions were there, turned off, the experiments weren't finished yet, i walk to my office to see if there was some good news, and when i checked the news papper, i was shocked "mutants robbing banks? i thought they were good guys..." i said while puuting the enws papper aside and walk out of my office "how's it going boys!?" i asked the guys working on the gate

alright, i get behind the main computer that was directly connected to the gate and start inserting a few codes, slowly so my fingers won't get stick to the numbers and letters "i'm having a hard time, i don't know, with life itself, but beside that, i'm doing great" i said with a chuckle keeping focused on my work for now

he nods "well things can only get better right?" he says with a smile " well have a good day miss" he says as he opens the door for you

"have a good day yourself" i replied to him as i keep writting some codes and then start walking out of the lab "i'm going to the spider's department, Evan, you're in charge" i said to one of my closest friends and the second most intelligent in this department, then i start walking to analyze my blood and compare it to the spider's, to do some research on what was happening to me

Evan gives you a nod, and then gets back to work, fortunately you had access to all the areas of the lab, so getting to the spiders wasn't too hard.

your DNA wasn't exactly like they're but there had definitely been a mutation, you where a physicist not a biologist but that much was evident at least

"well shit" i whispered as i take the sample of my dna and go back to my lab, at least i wasn't getting sticked or throwing webs all over the place, i even think i was starting to control it

your team where still working mostly at they're stations for now, with a couple of the mechanics working on your portal

"how's it going the job boys?" i asked as i get into my station and start working on it as well,

"not too bad, slow as always, but we're getting there " Evan tells you

"that's what we tell ourselfs every fucking week, i'll be happy if it only opens for a couple of seconds like months ago, we gather a lot of data those couple of seconds" i said as i focuse myself on my computer

he nods "well we can keep trying, but I'm not so sure that was entirely down to us, it could be months before it happens again, we'll just have to see what we can do"

"hey, let the girl dream" i said with a chuckle as i felt my head tingling, not to hard at first, so i just ignore it, but with the time, it was starting to make me go crazy, so loud and hard, i had to leave the lab and go out of the building with my hands on my head, not only i could crawl on the walls and throw webs, but i had a horrible headache too!

as you exit the lab you hear an explosion, your headache clears almost immediately as you rush back to see what had happened you realize that one of the machines near your station had over loaded and had exploded, several people had been hurt, but if you'd been in the room you'd have died

"shit!" i said as i walk closer to the people coming out of that lab to see if i could help with something "how did this happened!?" i asked one of them

"we don't know, something went wrong, a surge maybe" one of the research assistants tells you her name was Ann fortunately for her she'd been on the other side of the room when it had happened

"shit" as soon as i helped as much as i could, everyone were sent to their places, that was the moment i promise myself to do as much as i can to avoid that happening again, i spend the whole day and night making a suit, a perfect suit, and after it was done, i look at it with a smile, i put it on and go to the rooftop of this building to practice how to control my powers, it was a cold night, i felt stronger, and of course i was faster, like a spider, "brain, start working, how does this work?" i said as i try to throw some webs far away
