Auri gives a comforting smile, and waves the Gnoll off. "We'll be sure to return for you, just be ready to leave once we do." Giving Aelius a determined look, the elf motions him to follow as she turns to head back the way she came. Leading him down the hallway she came from, remembering that the storage room was not far from the corner of this corridor. Auri tightens her grip on her spear, the tension slowly building as they backtrack her steps.

Listening carefully, Vella perked up at the mention of a store room. Perhaps there could be something in there worth stealing. She wasn't focused on finding weapons and armor in particular, and so wasn't too fussed about them getting what they wanted first. But afterwards, she'd happily take anything of value she could find from in there. And perhaps picking up a dagger or two wouldn't hurt.

As the spellsword began to move down the hallway towards the storage room, Vella crept along, staying up high and out of sight, keen to follow to the loot.

Aelius returned her determined gaze and followed, staying silent from the tension as they crept along the corridor. Those bandits were in for a surprise when they'll meet him and his sword and shield in an honest battle.

Eliza Sharpfang
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

While the others were leaving with promises of returning, the three slaves shake their heads sadly. "Sorry. But the only thing we know is that they're all busy because of tomorrow. We were brought here only a few days ago ourselves, so we have only really heard what the guards have let slip in out presence, and that isn't much more than them guessing for how much they'll manage to sell us. Some of them are even betting money on it." The human woman explains, the undead nodding in agreement while the young elf simply looks at Eliza shyly.

Auri Von'athem
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Backtracking is easily achieved as Auri leads the others to the storage room she had found herself in earlier. Upon entering the room, Auri finds it just like she had left it. The only thing different being the cat from earlier being nowhere to be seen. The small amount of blood on the wall being the only sign of it ever having been there in the first place.

Aelius Feralian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Following the Elf, you find yourself in a small room with a few crushed and splintered boxes as well as a few unharmed ones along one of the walls. It really does feel like any old storage room. Nothing special about it besides the destroyed boxes seemingly having been empty.

Vella Antina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As the two she had been following entered the room, Vella realized she wouldn't be able to get into the room without going through the door at ground level. Leaving her with the choice to either follow or wait outside the room.

Aelius frowned, looking unimpressed "This place is messed up, there is even blood on the wall. But let's see" he tries to open one of the boxes to see if there's anything useful inside

Aelius Feralian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Having expressed his disappointment in the room, Aelius opens up one of the boxes only to find more disappointment. The boxes being filled with nothing more than slave collars, rags, some shackles (keys included) and what seems to be spare torches and bottles of lamp oil.

(Search roll: Natural 20!!!)

While moving some of the boxes, Aelius finds three swords leaning against the wall, having been previously hidden behind the boxes. Presumably the guards had at some point decided that a stockpile of secret swords would somehow be beneficial.

(Three short swords found.)

Eliza tried to give the small elf what she hoped was a reassuring smile as she considered what they were saying. It was good to know the bandits were busy with preparations for the sale, but that still didn't explain the absence of any guard thus far. "Do any of you know who is supposed to be guarding right now? I haven't seen anyone in these halls but those two and, if they come back empty handed it would be nice to let them know who they should be looking for to find the cell keys."

Eliza Sharpfang
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As the Woman was about to speak, she was suddenly interrupted by the elven child. "Cat. It's a bad black cat that can do magic and speak. It really isn't nice." She said, moving some of her rags from her shoulder to reveal what looked like a recently made scar of three white lines on her skin. "She made it hurt more with purple fire." The child explained as her eyes began to water before she wiped them with her arm. The Undead lady nodding again. "One should be wary of the Witch cat. While they can seem harmless, they have a lot of free time and practice spells often. I used to know one before she moved away with her owner." The Undead explained.

Vella sighed as they reached the storeroom, and decided to wait. These people were focused on escaping. If they found anything valuable, they probably wouldn't bring it with them just yet. Instead she decided to perch up high just outside the room and listen carefully, waiting for them to leave. She didn't perceive them as a threat and wasn't so worried about getting caught by them, however the last thing she wanted to do is get caught up in some bizarre slave revolution.

"I believe I can endure if it is our only option of escape." she said hesitating just for a moment "What do I need to do? Honestly I know little about magic so I'll just do anything you tell me too I'm a bit desperate at this point" I ask deciding its her best chance and she is willing to do anything.

Vella Antina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Deciding to wait, Vella makes herself comfortable.

(Vella's perception check: Natural 1!)

"Well, seems we have some more intelligent prey here." Vella hears whispered right next to her. Before she has any time to react, she hears a final word. Sleep. and the world went black for her.

(Vella has contradicted the status effect [sleep] and is unable to act for a total of 1d10 minutes. 1d10 roll: Natural 10. Vella will be asleep for the next 10 min.)
(Effect [sleep] negates the use of the skill climb. Vella falls down to the ground and takes 1 bashing damage from hitting the floor hard. 110 -1 = 109 health left.)

Aelius Feralian and Auri Von'athem together
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Both Aelius and Auri's attention is drawn away from the swords and the boxes as a thud like someone dropping a sack of potatoes is heard from outside of the room. Before any of them can investigate, even more so react. Something small and black darts through the door opening and the door slams shut. An audible click signifying the locking of the door. A sinister chuckle is then heard from everywhere at once. "Well, well, well. What do we have here, a prison break? You should just have stayed where you are, caged like rats. But now that you're out of your cages, you no longer count as merchandise." The voice stated simply before taking on a more malicious tone. "Now you're just meat!" The voice snarls as Auri feels herself being knocked over by something big, knocking her off her feet and sending her into the wall painfully.

(Auri takes 1 bashing damage from being sent into a stone wall. 95 -1 = 94 health left.)

Aelius naturally flinches a little, but he is in his element now that he has at least some kind of weapon. Aelius positions himself protectively in front of Auri after she slammed into the wall. ''Show yourself slaving coward!'' his eyes again burning with determination to destroy whatever was responsible for all the suffering here. His eyes darted around the room and he braces himself for a possible attack.

Aelius Feralian
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

To his surprise, the mystery assailant complied. From behind some of the boxes a huge black beast stepped forth.

"Now step aside if you wish to go away from this unharmed. I was ordered not to kill anyone while standing guard today. But that bitch made this personal." The creature spoke, hissing angrily at the word 'bitch'.

After briefly searching the storage room Auri clicks her tongue in frustration, thinking it not likely they'd get as many attempts to find a way to find what they need. Debating where would be best to search next, Auri's train of thought is brought to a halt by the sudden sound from outside the room. More than spooked, Auri turns herself around to notice the door has already been shut. Her eyes darting around the room while she attempts to find the source of the new voice. Unprepared for the sudden force sending her into the wall Auri's arm collapses against her chest in a futile attempt to stop herself. Letting out a soft grunt before pushing herself back up, ignoring the stinging she inhales deeply collecting enough of her magic to form a spell, "You'll regret that!" Auri calls out, casting a bolt of lightning at the beast as it emerges, readying her spear.

Auri Von'athem
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

(Auri's attack roll: Natural 1! It's a miss.)
(Unidentified creature's dodge roll: 17. It dodges.) (This roll was still rolled because a 1 would have resulted in it getting hit anyway.)

As Auri throws a stun spell at the creature it flinches and jumps away. The spell missing both it's intended target as well as where it had stood beforehand dissipates harmlessly against the stone floor. The creature smirks and grins at the two others in the room. "You think magic like that will be to any use? Let me show you real magic!" It says as it's shadow seems to become darker.

(Unidentified creature's spell roll: 19.)

The shadow begins expanding and is suddenly enveloping the entire room. "Shadow's gape." The creature says, making the edges of the room, shudder. What looks like wet, jagged teeth begin rising from every surface excluding the areas around anyone in the room. "Any last words?" The creature asks.

Maxwell Brewer
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Lightly tugging at her reserves, you manage to provoke a reaction. Since she was willing to allow it, her magic didn't resist yours and allowed itself to be guided, eventually reaching out into the simple spell matrix for a light version of the burst spell. Being applied to the inside of the lock, the simple mechanism gave away and the lock broke, allowing the door to the cell to be opened.

Eliza let out a huff as she heard about their warden. She'd never had any knack for magic. The few occasions where she was faced with mages she found them to be quite a bother to deal with. The opponent appearing to be a simple cat was the worst part. If they mistook it for a simple pet they could be caught off guard. As things stood there was little she could do but wait for them to return and warn them of what was waiting.

Walking back up to the cell bars she waited in silence for a moment before trying to end the silence with a little small talk. "So where are you all from?"
