Long time lurker, first time poster. Love what you've done with the game, but I suppose (like many), I do have one suggestion.

Not sure if its been discussed to much, but about the syndacate affilation thing. I could see that working, although it prolly would take quite a bit of effort to implement. Instead, I was wondering about a character that is actually with the syndacate, and actually is attempting to hunt down our heroes and other mercenaries within the labrynth to allow business to run smoothly. Purity could be reversed, with the character starting very very low, with options later in the game opening up if the player decides to try to go the hero path during the run through.

Well, thats my two cents, i'll shut up now and wait for the next undate :3

Yeah, Sairyn is probably the least developed character overall I'd say, though hopefully some character-specific NPC's for her might provide a little more background. I'll also look to flesh her out a little more as the game continues.

Sorry, what was the deal with the Gargs again? I was going to put a low-Purity option there, right?

After this patch, which is obviously about rescuing (or not rescuing) you-know-who, I'll start to introduce the character-specific ones slowly, one-by-one, the same way I'm trying to show the various members of the Divisions such as the Trouble 5--at least they're on the table now, so if say, Concepta or Svetlana would show up, I'm sure the players will probably at least know a little bit about them.

All in all, I'm really glad that none of the characters are simply abysmal when it comes to popularity--each of them has their own set of appeal factor, and I'm quite tempted to compensate for some of the less popular ones by going into their backstories first / establishing additional fetish fuel.

In terms of the stables, well... see, I was thinking about establishing that; perhaps a scene or two there to tide people over, because it's such a cocktease for being there but not actually doing anything, especially when the twins and dominatrix already have at least two scenes each. Ultimately, I have big plans for it but currently need to learn just a little more to make it the way I want it.

As far as the girls ALREADY in the stalls, that's a great idea and I can definitely do that--just a sentence or two and a pic for 'eye candy' indeed.

i think the falt of Sairyn is that so many guy's want to her about this finance everyone wants to see lol
and i think i started the garg thing with my little Q sorry XD
too bad there wasn't a trouble 7 so that way there is a sp char that one main could fight (like the glasses one fights emilia first while the "asagi wannabe" nebula fights lanie, ect ect, just a thought :3) and
lol you should add another emety stall for the MC to go in and if her Purity is low she would be willing to do something to whoever goes in, just a thought and yay :D you liked my idea XD (joking but i am happy you did like it)

Haha, naw, I wasn't gonna go that far because each character would have a rival instead of just one from a particular division; in this case, the Arcane one... and who's to say you'll need to fight ALL of them?

One of my ideas, however, due to the possible complication in priority regarding H-scenes, is instead of making the 'base 8' party with each other, add 'alternates' to their class that can join you. For example, Gwyn is rather close to Emilia in terms of stats and abilities, and so I'd make another 'berserker' girl who is similar to Rhiannon in combat but different personality-wise, another 'cleric' like Irine and so on... though this might be a bit more work than it's worth. I'm just trying to think of a way to make the 'main character' that you chose at the beginning have priority in every scene, because it wouldn't make sense for you to choose Emilia, have Asella join, and then have Asella be the 'star' in every scene that triggers, both H and non--which is what happens right now if they're both in a party.

EDIT:
LOL dude, shhh! Like I said, I have relatively large plans for that. It will be added when it's done.

Edited the first post to answer this question for troubleshooting purposes.
Although, for your particular situation, it sounds like this...
Did you download the RTP, or Run-Time Package? You'll need this to play any RPG Maker VX games.

Ayup. Not this coming patch, and not the patch after that, but at some point in the future I believe you did intend to go back and have an option with the gargoyles that reflects the correction of the various characters to a state of low purity.

KITAmaru Wrote:Ah, did you mean in terms of your character votes?

Yep, I'd been referring to the popularity poll, should have been clearer. My apologies.

Looking forward to the backstory additions, they're totally part of the fun too : O. Even more looking forward to the eventual completion of your big planz for the stalls.

Yeah, Hex of Fire can cause Burning, which is a DOT effect similar to Poison; according to the database, it's functioning.
Nope, no progress on the Purity showing up in the status screen, as I was busy resizing a few pics and working on the revised Wolfram scene. If you could find a readily usable script for that, it would actually be amazing.

I've found a few but am not sure how to make them show a different Purity score based on the character that you have.
For example, one script I found can show Variable 1, or Variable 2... (which is Emilia's Purity and Rhiannon's Purity, respectively), but I don't know how to get it to show Variable 1 IF you're Emilia and Variable 2 IF you're Rhiannon, and so on.

Actually, in terms of pre-made RPGVX scripts, if there is anything you guys want to see and want to help me out a little by finding them (i.e. Googling 'RPGVX script to do so and so), just drop me the link and I'll check to see if it works or is generally compatible with the others--and if so, it'll go in!

I've just finished the 'personalizations' as well as the programming on the Wolfram revised low-Purity scene. Now, I'm working on expanding the Chambers... you heard it right, it's going to be even bigger.

From what I've seen so far, Hex of Fire does not have a DOT. I have used it several times and whenever it says "X is burning" nothing happens.

I will see what I can do about the Purity script. I will contact you privately so we can discuss code.

you know i like little knight's idea a bit, maybe as a new char workig in the syndacate instead of fully opposing them, but i can see this as a bit of a problem (as in some or maybe alot of stuff needs to be changed just for this char) a really good idea but it seems like a bit of work on KITA's part (it least it seems like it is to me i could be wrong lol) oh and just to ask, later down the road would we be able to see the Trouble 5 and nebula's past more? like see how they got in the syndacate (i wonder if they were treated as slaves first or something) i'm not trying to ask for spoilers or anything i'm just wondering if we get to see their past at one point and ok i'll keep my trap shut KITA lol..... at least untill i have another Q XD

OK, one step at a time... I realize there are a lot of unanswered questions at this point that I have brought up with the introduction of these new characters, but that's part of the intrigue, huh? Can't be giving all of my secrets away--and compared to other developers, I think I share a LOT.

Needless to say, yes, these things will be revealed in time. As far as the Syndicate member character, this also isn't a bad idea but think about it--you're not gonna start from the same area, are you? Fight the same guys? Unless you're just that deep undercover... but regardless, it's still a lot of work for me atm and I already have my hands full with Gwyn right now. I'll consider it for sure, but no promises.

I'll have to re-iterate that I might say 'yes and yes' to this and that because I personally might like the idea, but that doesn't mean I'll put it in whatever order if at all, as trying to please EVERYBODY is a recipe for disaster--again, I'm merely going to focus on one thing at a time. Projects don't get finished when the developer becomes overwhelmed by all the requests and propositions and doesn't know how to just step back and slow down a bit, so that's what I am doing.

I double-checked Hex of Fire and it does add Burning, which in turn has Slip Damage checked. Burning has a 50% chance of ending after 5 turns, but also lowers ATK and DEF slightly--not to mention it works on a percentage of the foe's max HP, so it can't kill on its own. The problem with RPG VX is that DoT's are not shown at all in terms of effects, but I just tested Hex of Fire on a plant with my new show-HP script and damn, it's HP actually does go down fairly quick from Burning.

Ah, well since I didn't see a graphic for the burning, nor did it say that the enemy took burn damage, I assumed it was glitched. Glad it isn't.

Also KIT, I sent you an email. I was able to come up with code that displays your Purity in the Status Menu.

Slut-Making Contract completed as requested : D

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZW9IIDIS

Thyme in particular is a pleasure to train, because of how quickly you can get her to a rightful 0 purity.

Anyway, these are done in the same way as I do my own "leisure" saves, so all the one time events but the storyline mandatory ones and the chambers haven't been touched.

Left ya some gargoyles for when Kita implements those, as well. They're on the right.

Thanks for the different save files. It is something I try to do myself from time to time as the game is starting to become quite long.

About the influence of purity, I start to feel it too much, for my personal preferences of course (others might enjoy it this way better). It gives you less choices in a lot of situation. I am, for my part, a big fan of RPG which give you as much choices as possible. But now, some situations trigger only if you meet the purity requirement, without a traditional choice (yes I want to let the bandit touch my breasts/ no I donnot). Sometimes (like with the sailors, with asella), you have the choice to refuse and fight them but if you loose, your character will act like if she really really wanted it in the first place. During the scene, you are offered choices like "yes do this to me"/"please more!!"/"It is too good I am gonna cum"... What the difference exactly between those three???? Why not a more traditional "yes more"/remain silent/"stop please" which really let you choose what you want?

I understand that then, the purity value has no other purpose but to give you an idea of what previous choices you have made, but I would not give it more attention really. Now, it is like you need three different save files for each character before each interactions to fully enjoy all the work put into this game. And, worst, it is like you no longer have any dialogue options (the classic fight/accept choice remains although). If you take in consideration Bioware's work in ME2. Not mentioning the fact that it pisses most people that if you choose to be paragon, you have to do it all the time for all the paragon option (a mistake that they decided not to do again with the 3 by the way), you still have most options available most of the time regardless of your paragon/renegade values.

Your game has plenty of choices to be made, this is one of his greatest assets (among many still), it would be so great if you just let those choices open everytime. But that is just my opinion.

Cannot wait more updates!!

Actually, Kita, why IS there not a more ordinary/run of the mill choice system?

I prefer this current system, due to the emphasis it places on purity, and thus on whether or not you've been purposefully training your character along a certain line. The allure, for me, is that it's not so much "What will YOU do, how will YOU play Sheppard?" like in Mass effect, but more "How will THIS particular character react to being played in the way you want it to be played? What enjoyable quirks or traits of personality will come to the fore when you break THIS particular character of its inhibitions?"

But while that's my own reasoning and preference, why did you specifically organise it this way?

Haha, that's what I get for trying to please everybody.
I don't know if you saw, but when I first implemented the choice system, you still always had the option to resist or decline no matter how deep in shit you were. Others started recommending for the dialogue options to change altogether so as to provide a 'feeling' of lowered Purity, so I did just that. Naturally, others are going to have a different view on things... I see where you're coming from, but I am definitely one man compared to Bioware's team.

As for Lucky's explanation--yes, that's basically it. For absolute freedom, I'd definitely recommend the Grrl Power! Project which lets you customize your character's name, clothing, etc. and is truly more of a sandbox H-RPG done by a talented coder. See, my game doesn't have all of that... so what DO I have? Without being too pompous or anything, I think my writing is passable and my ideas relatively stable (though admittedly, one of my faults is being TOO open to others' ideas). Another thing I have is characters--sure... you can choose how you want to play them to an extent but Rhiannon is going to be Rhiannon whether you like her or not--maybe a little more promiscuous or horny with a low Purity score, but core aspects of her personality will still exist so that you can recognize the character without looking at them.

That being said, there's still a lot of work that needs to be done in fleshing out certain characters on the roster, imo, which is why I was in such a hurry to introduce all these new characters so we can start creating dynamics between the PC's and the NPC's.

Look, I can do this all over again, but that's gonna be the last time and it's gonna be an even longer wait. One of my contributors Sellsword (who recently implemented a script that shows Purity in the status bar, so thank him) actually suggested the different choices either raising or lowering Purity to make it more fluid, which I felt was a solid idea and would go with it. So don't worry, someone has suggested your point--I'm going to essentially redo the choices system to have one that is neutral, one that raises Purity no matter what situation you're in, and one that of course lowers it. This is not for storyline so much as it is for the purpose of game mechanics, so that Purity won't just plummet and plummet lower so quickly as you mentioned.

Of course, I think the reason why plenty of projects die is when their creator gets overwhelmed by the suggestions, wants to do a revamp, never gets around to it and so on. I think I've done a pretty good job so far of keeping the lines open, but this is where I need to focus on things one at a time to actually get stuff done.

This is what's done so far:
Wolfram Scene Revision for Low-Purity, also added Mid-Purity and High-Purity variations for all characters
2 / 6 Scenes for the Chamber Stalls (Yeah, so I'm putting 6 scenes in there since people wanna see a horsey, oh you'll get a horsey...)
Purity implemented in Status script

Keep in mind that between work and school I don't have quite as much time to plug away at this project, but I'm no quitter, at least not until I'm satisfied, so you'll definitely see SOMETHING in a few weeks.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing characters like Rhiannon breaking completely and changing her attitude. I think its because she's such a badass though x.x

Awesome. If Rhiannon suddenly flipped and became like ... super sweet and polite or something, instead of her awesome tough self, I'd make the : < face.
Not that I don't LIKE sweet and polite.
But Rhiannon's dominant side is just too fucking kickass.

O ... Oy ... Oy! I like being able to mix and match the characters' responses without having to worry about raising my purity in a situation like the sailor gangbang or the plants scene.
It's not insurmountable of course, since with one-time scenes I actually already re-load most of the time so I can go back to 'em whenever, and since with repeatable scenes I can grind back down with the "lower purity" option, but DO have a care when you're fiddling with your choice system, won't you, good sir? Some of the lines are pretty hot, and to see 'em suddenly causing purity to skyrocket, or to see 'em not existing anymore because there isn't room for all the choices, would be a damned hateful shame.
Peeps who WANT the high purity choices can totally achieve that end already by not subjecting their characters to purity-lowering training in the first place.
Also, perhaps you can include some sort of indicator as to which choice does what, even though it might seem to be obvious just from the wording?

LATE ASS EDIT
Maybe make it so that at 0-10 purity the options DO change completely? Peeps who aren't actively shooting for it won't reach that point, and if they do by some miracle of bad playing, they can just bathe up to eleven purity, which won't take more than like 4 baths unless they're just losing fights for no explicable reason.
Win-win, right? That way I'd never have to worry about 'em, and yet peeps who wanted to keep their options open could do so.

The old idea of "1 reworking of a previous event/choice every other patch/every couple other patches or so in addition to the new content" still seems pretty solid to me.

Well as long as her BECOMING submissive isn't mandatory upon lowering purity, I guess I can't strictly oppose it.
