Synfig

I have always wanted to give flash making a try, but I don't have the money to get CS5. So I was looking for freeware and I came across synfig. Does anyone have any experience with it? Good or bad?

So far I can only do the most basic of basic when it comes to animating, but I've only been at it for 2 hours. One thing I did come across was that I can't open .fla files. Wondering if I'm just doing something wrong or if there is an extra step that I must take into account.

I do not believe so. I'm just trying to figure out what it does support and see if there is a way to convert one to the other.

So if it doesn't support .fla i don't think it will support SWF files which are the game format. If it uses Flash player it's SWF for the most case.
