Slight Concern and other Tidbits

Postby Axel » Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:13 am

Well, not to be the random pessimist, but I simply feel like there are a certain few things that haven't really been considered, and if they have then please feel free to correct me, but don't start a flame war (I don't troll anywhere but on one of the -Chan sites).

Just to make an opening observation, I feel that setting up scenes and things may be breathtaking and such, but considering that this game is likely going to be a .swf if NOT an .exe, should the proverbial cup be full to the rim with features and graphics? I know it may seem like a pointless topic, but seeing all this scene-based .swf files and coding makes me a tad concerned for how bogged down the game could get with its frame rate and other visuals.

Putting the last topic to one side of the table, I feel that there is something of a "rushed" feeling behind some of the posts put in this Area 52 forum. I know that the project to improve the work done by Playshapes hasn't exactly made leaps and bounds, but with the people behind the action having daily lives to live, should we expect them to take the time to program and draw at work? Could anyone easily explain to their employers why they're prepping sprites, coding, or resources for a adult game out of pocket?

Moving on, I honestly would just like to say thank you to the people actually working on this, because regardless of my own enthusiasm to help, I've my own problems and it would likely take me a while to say the least to learn any minor coding, let alone important towards this project. I don't feel that many really get how few are actually doing anything, and that work, even minimally, should be applauded for how much is contributed.

Those are my concerns, on the table, out to see. If anyone else has anything, please post.

"but considering that this game is likely going to be a .swf if NOT an .exe"
It is possible (as far as I can see) to convert a .swf file to a exe. file but I think it still runs like a .swf do.

"should the proverbial cup be full to the rim with features and graphics? I know it may seem like a pointless topic, but seeing all this scene-based .swf files and coding makes me a tad concerned for how bogged down the game could get with its frame rate and other visuals"
We are not going to take anything away from the visual part so it might not run the fastest for everyone but that depends on what you and others got to play it on.

"I feel that there is something of a "rushed" feeling behind some of the posts put in this Area 52 forum"
I don't know which ones work you are talking about but when it comes to the animations and stuff you have seen, most of them are actually a bit rushed because they aren't animations that is going in to the game.

"should we expect them to take the time to program and draw at work?"
Sorry but I don't think that would be a good idea.

Thank you very much, KatsuO_O, clears some of my mind at least, though I would like to help.
...A slight odd no one else posted anything, though I doubt the forum is but so active anyway.

Only reason people look at forums is to see the progress of the actual game. I myself havent posted on these forums in a VERY long time, yet I come to see if anything new came up everyday.
