I actually prefer rps with an end in sight to ones that drag on with no endgame planned. Yasker has been working on his own objectives since day one and its not like I haven't tried to kill any players so I guess things will be mostly the same for me. Definitely can't wait for things to get messy though ;D

And then you have me, who made a half-dragon martial artist, yet doesn't have any prior combat on Eopeth to establish a rep with the other Hunters...and is now set to have his first fight on the island be with what Dungeons and Dragons GMs would only toss in if they want to royally fuck up an experienced adventuring party. No, seriously, have you seen what those RPGs do with Beholders? It's scary as fuck, dude.

Well, it's a very chaotic fight. Most of the beholders attacks are psychic or telepathic or something along the lines of mental attacks. So I figure all the combat is going to be resisted attacks. Beholder attacks and the party resists. The beholder has very little in the means of physical defense, so if the party is big enough and has high will then the fight should be both short and easy. If there is a lack of will (or whatever the mental defense stat is?) then the Beholder can wipe the floor with the hunters. And usually, you don't hunt a beholder, you accidently run into one, and then fight for your life or run away. With a whole group planning to meet one, it should go off without a hitch. Just get everyone a crossbow, keep it loaded, and get some decent damage dealing poison. Any hunter worth their salt can hit a giant floating technical monster with a crossbow, and as long as you have numbers, you've got a few confirmed hits. Open up round 1 with a hail of bolts, then charge in there and overwhelm the bastard.

Beholders aren't too hard. If you have a normal sized group of about level 3+ Beholders are pretty easy to take out, high will or not. o3o

You are all of course assuming what you're going to find is a generic D&D beholder.

Which is not the case.

Poisoned crossbows are still a good solution.

I'm probably gonna be ending someone's genocide run in the end game... maybe, I dunno. Eh, don't count on it.

Can't be Yasker, he's tried diplomacy everytime before resulting to violence and has killed only one sentient creature and enslaved none. His methods are sometimes wrong but his goals never are. Of course you'll probably only begin seeing that as the endgame nears if you haven't picked up on the dozen or so hints I've scattered throughout the rp. Then again right and wrong are entirely subjective but I believe by current societies' standards his end-goals would be deemed extreme but in the right. End point, good luck with that, 1v1 you won't fair too well.

You think is possible to get this mission started early? I haven't heard of any reason for Mordicai to keep waiting with everyone here and waiting. You'd think this guy would want to get the beholder killing over with, at least I want to. Time is becoming rather valuable with this being the late-game. Would hate for someone to get too far before I get another chance to kill them.

It's not late game yet, I said we were closing in to it, not on it, chill. Also, the reason why I had Mordecai wait around is to make sure no one else wanted to tag along for this particular expedition. If everyone involved is ready to go, I'll get the expedition started on my next post.

At the risk of annoying people with another Metroid reference...the fog-swamped part of the forest reminds me of Phazon from the Prime trilogy. A miasma that causes insanity? Check. Eerie glowing blue mushrooms? Check. An even eerier creature resembling a normal being, but with an unhealthy case of blue radiation? Double check.

I actually never played much Metroid, so believe it or not, the similarities are purely coincidental :v

By the way.

I'll be posting tomorrow sometime during the afternoon, if you haven't posted yet and don't wait to wait for my next post, I suggest you to post soon.

Edit:

I'm a bit late, sorry. Posting now.

Edit 2:

Posted. It never ceases to amaze me how, whenever I make a monster to REALLY mess people up, the players involved in it tend to get really lucky rolls. Sadly, seems like the NPCs don't get that much luck.
