After a long, long long time... I bring you...

AN UPDATE! (4th August 2011, see first post for details)

Just to give you a little spoiler since it might take you a while to work out, to avoid the boss' attack you have to crouch, but there's still no crouching animation D:

so there is a crouch movement now, will you be updating it so you can attack while your crouched?

There's always been a crouch movement, just there isn't a sprite for it yet, so you won't know WHEN you're crouching. We're working on it and should have it done ASAP. We're slowly getting there.

EDIT: Oh, and yes, you will be able to aim while crouching. There'll also be aiming downwards.

Love your work thus far. Found a glitch: after losing the mercenary mission via rape, the "game over" screen showed the image, but when I went to quit to the main menu, it gave me an error code.
Please keep up the great work!

Thank you very much! Glad to hear you enjoyed the game!

As for the glitch, that's definitely something I'll get rid of. It's because I added lots of new noises in this version, and I forgot to load those noises in the mercenaries load screen. Thanks for letting me know!

This is coming along REALly well so far. I realise you're working on lots of things so I won't talk about aesthetics and things as they're a lower priority to mechanics and level design.

Boo-Hoo on LVL 1 Boss beating me.. fething crouch..

How do you beat the boss? Bullets don't make him bleed, and knives took too long to kill him. Is beating him possible, and does shooting him while he runs work?

Bullets do injure him, but they do more damage when attacking from a certain angle.

Yes, shooting him while he runs works.

What is that certain angle? The bullets don't seem to change its projection, and jumping while shooting doesn't seem to work. By certain angle, you mean crouch, aim and shoot as he runs to you, or when he stops running?

For one it isn't flash, so there is indeed an .exe inside of the zip that contains all the files for the game since it is done in game maker. That being said he has stated many times that it's easier to host it off site, so if you don't feel safe downloading it well then don't download it.

-News Update-
Been working pretty damn hard on the title screen. Ya I know, it's a title screen and nothing super amazing compared to the rest but its been a long time in the making.

so you can crouch but it doesnt show it?

well you cant shoot while crouched, so i dont know what good it is,

just to be sure, the boss is the dog zombie right? but you said the way to avoid the boss attacks is to duck, but that doesnt avoid ANYTHING.

because the only things in the game that i can find are 3 screens, cafe,(left) outside(middle), and storeroom?(right) or am i missing something massive?

on the other hand i like the new HUD that pops up when you go in to inventory, perhaps the "innocent/whore/virus bars should be up all the time? even when not in inventory?

on the bugs side of things. if you go to the left, and reenter the cafe there is no way to leave. when you try it just reloads to cafe again, over and over.

edit: ResiGame04082011 is the new version, right? i got it from the first post.

Nope, the boss is not the dog zombie, you must have a VERY old version, maybe I'll put like a version number on the menu?

I haven't added shooting with crouching yet, since I don't know the co-ordinates in which the bullet will come from.

You can go through the doors with the Z key, maybe that's what you're not doing?

The knife does have an attack, if you have the sound on you'll hear either a whoosh (miss) or a stab (hit) noise.

Edit: Yeah, that is the new version... that's odd. There is more. If you go into the "third" room as you call it, there should be two doors, one is locked, the other has two zombies and a guy in it, speak to the guy with Z, then you can continue.

Edit #2: Ah, I'll fix that collision glitch that causes the cafe to reload over and over.

Edit #3: I didn't want to have the bars up all the time, as the HUD would get too cluttered, and it would end up being very un-resident evil. To be honest, I think I'm going to take away the HUD that's already there once all the graphical parts are done (e.g. you can see your armor condition just by seeing how much clothing is there, and your character will be limping/clutching their sides if low on health, plus there is the fading of colours depending on condition.)

I found a glitch that if you start hitting the arrow keys. When she screams and before she's getting fucked. You can slip out with the whore points and it makes another zombie.

ok, couple of things, the zombie that attacks in the cafe is still using the old template, (the rubbish one)

its impossible to use the knife, because you cant tell how fast she can attack without the attack animation (but thats a work in progress i know) so some more ammo would be nice, atleast untill the melee attack if finished,


the jump controls are REALLY bad, its taken me five tries to get over the first pit, because half the time she just runs off the edge, rarther than jumping.

oh ,final point, the new zombies turn invisible when they attack, yes i know thats probably just a placeholder image but i keep thinking i have killed them then getting suprise attacked. could you just fill the attack animation a diffrent colour? doesnt matter what, just to make them visible untill the rest of the animation is finished?

edit: am i supposed to be able to attack while crouched? it wont fire at all.
i think it might be the same "cant press 3 buttons at the same time" bug i had playing nanocrisis. where i couldnt aim up/down and shoot at the same time.

i had to change the controls from ASD to DFG or something, but i cant fuck with the controls here,

another thing to add to your ever growing list?

1) The first zombie doesn't use that sprite anymore
2) We'll have a knifing animation done shortly, until then I guess you could just play on *chuckle* NORMAL :lol:
3) The jump controls are bad? I think it's your timing, you don't have to wait until you're right at the edge. I wanted to make a realistic leap, and not what I originally had which was very unrealistic, jumping 5 feet in the air. Can I ask how it is bad?
4) The new zombies now have a proper lunging animation.

5) I havent' added the crouching and firing yet. Like I said, I need the crouching sprite done first, which is being done atm.

Are you suggesting customizable controls? That'll require a complete re-code of almost everything I've done, so I won't do that unless enough people suggest it, and it'll be quite far down on the work list.

Can we get an invulnerability cheat? Also if you start a survival or new game. It messes up your current save inventory. I did so and my green herb, 2nd umbrella card, and 30 gun ammo was missing. I have 18 gun ammo which is what I had last on my survival.
