Was this intentional? Was the boss fight removed?

This was the only strategy that worked for me, although many times I used a Fighter with high HP even though a Tank would've been better in retrospect. I ignored/maneuvered around enemy units on the field for the first 2-3 rounds and rushed my scout and tank/fighter to the end to start pummeling the enemy commander asap. I then used tanks to block the advancing enemy units, keeping them distracted but alive so that more wouldn't spawn in front of my offensive units, all while sending more scouts as backup.
Felt cheap, but between the Phasmos and Bovos fights, it was the only way I could conceivably win without my entire squad getting one-shotted and wiped out in a single counter-attack. I kinda wish that each fight had a limited set of specific units, but I'm happy enough that Act II was completed to begin with.
