Hide and Seek: Find good cover and watching monsters is important as a Field Researcher and a skill Marco has perfected at a young age. (Bonus to Hiding & Sneaking Rolls. Bonus to Observation Rolls when hidden)
Information Broker: A Field Researcher’s main job is to support other hunters by sharing what they know either about the monster or their surroundings. (Make Intelligence Roll, Buff a companion’s next action roll or combat rolls during battle.)
Marco’s Notebook: A notebook Marco takes with him everywhere he goes. Uses it to take notes on the local flora, fauna and monsters (Use Observation Roll to record information on Monsters, Buff against monsters recorded in the notebook)
Disadvantages and Drawbacks:
Sexual Inexperience: Marco is a virgin with little to no experience regarding the opposite sex. Give him any attention and he’ll be flustered beyond belief. (Weak to Seduction, Lust-Inducing Magic)
Hand to Hand Ineptitude: Marco can use crossbows and that’s pretty much it. In one on one combat or close up and it’s pretty much over. (Debuff when in melee combat)
Unprepared: Marco does a lot of scouting and studying before engaging a target. If he doesn’t have any information then things can take a turn for the worst. (Temporary debuff when facing a monster or person for the first time.)

Less adapt at combat then most hunters, Field Researchers focus on collecting data and chronicling the many uses for monster fluid. This may involve going into hostile regions at their own risk.
Backstory:
Marco is the only child of a family of merchants. As a youth, Marco was often teased for his effeminate looks. To avoid his bullies he would hide in a tree near a small Hunter’s outpost. There he would observe the different hunters that came through the town. He saw the monster fluids they would bring with them and even the actual monsters they would try to tame. Soon he started to record what he saw in a journal that he keeps with him now.
One day, an old man came to the tree he was hiding in and asked him to come down. He wanted to see what Marco had been writing in his journal. Hoping to avoid trouble he gave his book to the old man. The old man read the notes in silence. Once he was finished he closed the book and handed it back. He then explained that he was a Field Researcher with the Hunter’s Guild and that he was looking for an apprentice to help him. While hesitate, the young boy couldn’t reject such an offer. After speaking with his parents, he left his home behind to help the Field Researcher.
For the last five years, Marco mainly worked as a scribe. He spent his days writing down all the adventures the old man had during his lifetime. It soon became clear that what the man really wanted was someone to write his life’s story. Marco was more than happy to write for the old man even though his stories seemed to become more and more ridiculous. Wanting to see the world this man had witnessed, he waits for the day he can make his first expedition
