A thought just came to me: I'll probably raise the stat-cap higher to make it feel like you're really getting more powerful with each passing day. The points you're allowed to disperse will stay at the base of 16 unless there is a special circumstance negating this, though the skill-cap will now be 50, as opposed to 20. If you meet someone with a 50 stat in anything, you're guaranteed to have a bad day!

Praise be to the bolt, the crossbow and the holy trigger that ends your life. I do imagine my crossbow is effectively fully-automatic now and I can dodge projectiles like Solid Snake back-flipping off of rockets.
