Grandpa Katsu and company
Near the Club House
They approached without warning, popping up over the horizon as nothing more than specs in the distance. Three distinct figures could be seen approaching the Monster Hunter Club House. On closer inspection one could make out the generalized shapes of the figures and that two of the three were draped in rather traditional robes while the tallest of the figures wore close to nothing.
"Ah there it is!" the shortest of the group said as he pointed toward the club house in the distance. It was no more than the size of his thumbnail from the distance he was at but his excitement was very apparent. The man was short and aged, looking to be very very old, though he walked with a youthful bounce in his step and the gleam in his eye spoke of a man who still had plenty of decades left in him. His face was clean shaven save the long white strip of hair than ran down from his chin, braided in an ornate style to depict his supremacy within his own culture. His hair was mostly gone, a scant amount remaining on top of his head, white in color from age. His dark blue eyes narrowed as he strained to see the small dot in the distance, a big smile appearing on his face, revealing that he was missing a tooth or two but for the most part his teeth were in good order. "It's been 13 long years since I last brought you two here. I bet it brings back memories! I know it does for me."
"Uh Grandpa..." the second figure spoke. Her voice was delicate and melodic though there was a sense of urgency that she was trying to convey in her speech pattern as she tried to attract the old man's attention. She was fairly tall for a woman, standing over 5 and a half feet while having a near perfect figure for a girl in her late teens. She was in short, a very athletic woman and was built very solid despite how delicate her voice sounded. Her long silver hair poured down her back over her black and red ornate robes. The rice paddy hat she wore over her head to shield the sun from her eyes did well to cast a shadow over the upper portions of her angular face. Even so, her piercing red eyes narrowed as she spoke up again. "Grandpa!"
"Oh yes I remember when you both were just wee children. Oh how you loved this place when I brought you here. Do you remember Kamina? You used to love to play with that old talking cat." The old man droned on and on about times gone by, ignoring his granddaughter's pleas for attention.
"Sir..." the tallest of the figures spoke. Her tall and perfect figure trailed behind the two that walked side by side. Closer inspection would reveal that she was indeed a white haired were wolf. From the looks of it she had been tamed long ago, losing almost all sense of her primitive self, or at least having buried it deep under her civility. Her cloths, while scanty, were present, which was a lot to say for a were wolf. Her plate covered brassier covered her well proportioned breasts while the plate covered bottoms only covered her nether regions, leaving her legs ample room to move if needed. Her ice blue eyes rolled upwards as her words were also ignored as the old man kept talking on and on...
"...." finally to top off the supposed trio was a small winged fae no more than 2 and a half feet tall resting on the old man's shoulder. She said nothing though the look on her face was one of distress as she kept looking backwards past the were wolf. The fae's dark green hair and tan skin gave her a very earthy appearance and like her other female counterparts, she too was an attractive figure to look at. Her big green eyes narrowed as she strained to stare off into the distance behind them as the old man continued to stare ahead.
"....and then you got lost in the forest. Oh that was such a headache!" the old man continued before turning to look to his right side, as if expecting to see someone standing next to him. "Do you remember Kite?" the old man would be met with silence which caused him to stop in his tracks. The rest of the group followed suit, halting behind the old man. "Kamina...where's your brother?" the old man's voice was low and filled with a growing agitation.
"That's what I tried to tell you!" the girl yelled, stepping forward to glare at her grandfather. "He stopped near the cemetery to take a leak. I tried to tell you but you just kept talking!" She gritted her teeth as she glared at the old man.
The werewolf sighed lightly as she placed a palm against her face, shaking her head. The fae continued to glare out into the distance, as if searching for something. The old man turned to look at his daughter, his face calm and stoic. "Oh well then there's nothing to worry about. He should be fine. We'll just go to the club house and wait for him to catch up. He should be okay, these parts aren't too dangerous."
"B...b..but grandpa! That was over 5 hours ago! And he doesn't have the map or his sword!"
"5 hours? Really? Wait, why wouldn't he have the map or his sword?" the old man shot back.
"BECAUSE I HAVE THEM!" the girl cried out as she held up a sheathed katana and a rolled up piece of parchment.
"WHAT?!"
Kite
Hopelessly lost and somewhere in the sky.
The young man scowled as he was carried through the air by some sort of giant bird lady creature that had managed to grab him by the arms just as he had finished his business. It had admittedly taken him a while to find a good spot to relieve himself as he didn't feel right doing it so close to a graveyard. This had seemed like the honorable thing to do but in hindsight this now seemed like the stupid option. He should have just finished his business quickly and rejoined his family. He glanced upward toward the creature carrying him. She looked like a female with distinct bird-like characteristics.
"Oh boy you have to help them! There's this horrible lizard trying to eat them! I'm sure lucky I ran into you. Any help we can get against that thing will be of great help!" she cried out as she flapped her wings faster, rushing him toward the fight.
Kite's ice blue eyes took a moment to hone in on what she was talking about but he thought that he could see a few people combating some giant reptilian creature on the base of the mountain. Kite glanced up at the bird with a questionable expression.
"There they are!" she said enthusiastically before dive bombing toward the group, Kite in toe.
Kite's eyes widened as she spun and sped up their descent. Kite began to struggle a bit in the creature's talons, not seeming to want to go down their to join the fight at this particular time.
"Oh! You're so eager! I love it! You brave brave man!" she cried out before slowing down a bit, releasing Kite, causing him to go sailing about 10 feet toward the ground.
Kite's eyes widened even more as he began to force his body to turn head over heal, landing on the ground in a rolling motion to carry his momentum forward. He'd grunt lightly as he came to a complete stop about 15 feet from the lizard, standing next to Alicia and Taria. He'd stand up slowly, glaring at the lizard.
Without saying a word Kite moved his hand up, grasping at the brim of his rice paddy hat, pulling it off and tossing it to the side, revealing his snow white mane. Suddenly without warning he was off, sprinting toward the lizard, taking note of the man who had managed to somehow mount the lizard's back in an attempt to scale to the top. Perhaps Kite could get the lizard's attention and make it easier for the man to get to the head. With that thought in mind Kite's eyes focused on a medium sized rock. Without hesitation he threw his leg forward in a powerful kick, sending the rock sailing much like a football straight toward the lizard's soft underbelly in hopes of striking the lizard in what hoped to be its most vulnerable area that was exposed, except for the head, but Kite didn't want to chance kicking the rock toward the creature's head and accidently pegging the man who was trying to reach the head!
