If you have to, an inventory item will be much easier to implement. You draw a map. code an item, link the picture and the item, drop the item on the floor somewhere, and done. Sounds a lot easier than trying to make a minimap work. But I don't like the idea of clothes having a probability to be destroyed. Just Imagine when Beth finally finds THE magical bra that gives +10 to seduction, and then, a monster appears and rips the bra. That's annoying. One way to avoid this is giving the clothes the option of being repaired (as the armours in WOW). I'll think about an easy way to implement it.

I knew that at some point, I'll have to do some code optimization to improve performance, but I expected to do in a future, when more game had been done. I also planned some future optimizations, like improving the algorithm I use to swap sprites' layers (but seems that will be very hard work).
