Duplicity Wrote:Sounds like the art front is the main hang up to progress Crestchan.
Would it be better to focus on events and story before sourcing/creating the art?
Or the other way around, create the art and wrap the story around it.
For me the text is more important, the art is nice to set the scene and convey some emotion. However the text really extends and deepens the situation.
However, the reason I like this game so much is because YOU are the one making it. So go at your own pace and create how you wish. Good luck and I look forward to the next versions.
First off I just want to say this. Thank you. Hearing that you like the game cause I made it makes me feel good, so thank you.
Now onto the art front. Sadly that was a huge hang up. I didn't think I could write how I wanted unless I found the right picture and I didn't think my writing would be good if I forced it to match the picture. I looked at other options such as commissioning pictures from people or drawing them myself. Sadly, after researching a bunch of commissioner's prices I found that if I kept all the character spots I have filled, but just change them in name or something, to get 1 picture for the intro/faceset and 1 scene with the character I would need basically 1000+ dollars for just the character spots I currently have. Drawing them myself is not really an option, I am not the best drawer(in my opinion) and I have very little experience drawing anything but straight on head shots. Who knows I might add a couple pics and see what you all think.
So for the most part, depending on how well my drawings go over, I am just going to use 3DCG. I think this will be good, mostly because of how fast I can make pictures on it.
