Lauren & Zoe
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Lauren begins wandering around looking for her teammate for the mission, Zoe. It isn't long until the revving of a loud engine from the parking lot catches her attention. Lauren quickly follows the sound around the building to a small personal garage. Inside, a woman started her vehicle and seemed to be putting it through its paces, with a look of joy on her face. Lauren recognizes her as Zoe, her teammate-to-be. It seems that might be the vehicle in question.
Meanwhile, as Zoe inspects her car, she does find a new built in GPS. It was likely a safety precaution as much as a way to speed up your travel to destinations in a country you're not familiar with. Other than that, the car seems in tip top shape.
Tessa & Jade
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
You quickly find and decide on a car to take for your adventure to Fujisato. The two of you peel out of the lot quickly, nearly tipping the car onto two wheels and eventually find the highway. Before long, you're meeting the extremely well-paved and clean highway. At once, you both receive a text from Rufus on your mobile devices.
"Fujisato is in the northern part of Japan. It will be a long drive, FYI. Depending on traffic, expect to be on the highway all day. As indicated on the digital board, Fujisato is the source of wide-ranging psychic disturbances. The town has readings indicating a xenos presence of many multitudes, but none higher than a Class 2. I advise that once you arrive, act with caution, and be discreet. If there are those under the influence of Xenos power, they may resist helping, or even fight to defend them. I suggest you find the root. Locate one of the Xenos quietly, question him, and find out the truth. Good luck, MHD Agents."
After that text, unless you have questions for him, he leaves you to your own devices, only the road and all of Japan before you. You would be crossing most of the main island to reach your destination, as your GPS shows you. If desired, there's certainly a number of traffic stops, hotels, and restaurants along the way.
Emile, Georgia, Willow
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Emile peels off and heads in a different direction from Willow and Georgia.
Meanwhile, Willow and Georgia head to the end of the somewhat long hallway and open the door. Inside, it seems the place has already been thoroughly sacked. More than likely, the military conducted its own investigation first before asking the MHD for assistance. In the center of the room is a large, oak, desk with an office phone on top and a large stack of folders. Against the wall behind the desk is a WW2 American Enfield rifle, seemingly engraved with some sort of message beneath it. There's a large window to the right of the desk, facing what looks like the barracks. A half-dozen soldiers seem to be patrolling it, a much tighter guard then the main building. Perhaps there was more to this than meets the eye. On the desk, you notice a dried blood splatter across the wood and the office phone.
To the left of the desk is a large file cabinet, with most of the drawers ripped open. Unsurprisingly, most of the files are gone, but a few were left behind. You could do a closer inspection of the room and sift through the smaller items on the floor and under the desk, but it will take some more time, or focus on the other things presented before you, or perhaps even leave the room altogether, unsatisfied with what's before you.
Emile PART B
Spoiler (click to show/hide):
Once you split off from the other two and make your way back to the CQ desk, the soldier turns to face you and hear your request. He shrugs and says, "I'll get one of the duty squads to show you around."
The soldier picks up the phone and quickly hits #2 on the dial pad. A few seconds later, a male voice answers, and the soldier at the desk says, "Yes, one of the investigators wants a tour of supply facilities, including storage. Yes... Just one. Alright. Hurry up, corporal."
He hangs up and turns back to you, "Just a few minutes, sir."
You wait patiently and just as promised, six soldiers come out of the rain. Yes, it seemed to be raining now, pouring in fact. The six are dripping wet from head to toe as they walk down the hall toward the desk. The one who seemed to be in charge meets your eyes first and nods his head in recognition.
"Come with us. We'll give you a tour."
It seems they had no desire to wait around. It was pretty late and it was unlikely these guys wanted this shift, so some irritability was expected. Assuming you comply, they lead you back out into the rain. The six soldiers take position around you, almost like your escort, and only a hundred yards or so later of following a paved concrete path, you find yourself in front of a large two-story structure. The corporal says, "Guard's been tight since the general went missing. That's the barracks, and..."
He points to another building a hundred yards to the right of that one, "That's our main supply building. No munitions, but it has everything else."
