"I will hold onto my files for the time being." Sliding the folders into his inside vest pocket. He hadn't known what to expect when they had each shown off their powers but Emile found himself somewhat impressed by all of them. Rufus's power was indeed like his own, although Emile wasn't sure if Rufus suffered from a loss in speed, not to mention Emile's own power didn't make him more vulnerable to the elements. With both of their powers being so similar he couldn't help but wonder who was stronger. Perhaps he'd even ask for a sparring match with powers some time in the future once he had some downtime. Kimiko's power seemed to be the most lethal out of everyone's or perhaps Emile just felt that way since he wasn't a fan of cold weather. He could see it useful from a distance and for crowd control but he wondered if she could use it under duress or during a physical fight. Regardless, Emile saw her as an asset, someone that could have his back. Then there was Lillian. He mentally kicked himself for underestimating her without knowing the extent of her powers. Telekinesis, the ability to attack without ever laying a finger on your opponent was something not to be trifled with. Maybe she was easily cowed by intimidation but he knew that her passion for her "cause" could fuel her to do things he didn't expect. All in all, Emile was pleased he was working for such robust characters, if they were hiring people like them, like him then the enemies would definitely be worth it. "Can't wait to get started." Smiling for the first time as his arms returned to their natural color.
After the interview, Emile followed them to the large meeting area. The whole way there he felt charged, pulsing with energy and eagerness. He hadn't felt this way in such a long time he had almost forgotten why he had kept doing what he did and why he had tried to start over. The rush of competition, of facing something possibly bigger than you then tearing it down. He hid his excitement behind a slight frown, the only sign of his eagerness being him constantly clenching his fists as he sat down.
The briefing put mostly everything into perspective for him. Four factions, each fighting each other while simultaneously preying on humans with the creatures ranging from class 1s to 10s. The Abberants worried him the most, since he doubted the fight would boil down to a contest of strength but nevertheless he relished an opportunity to try fighting one. He had a bigger problem with how little he was being paid, 100k a year wasn't much but he figured it was more of a baseline with chances to make even more through hazard pay later on. The box of goods made up for it a little bit as Emile emptied its contents into his pockets after activating the phone. He was glad they had included his knuckledusters or as others called them, brass knuckles. He had multiple ones but this pair was his favorite. He had bought it a while ago and it had been completely black but now it was mostly white after years of pounding and breaking bones, the paint chipped off and replaced with color of the thing it broke the most. He had almost drifted off into dreams of the past until he was jolted back by one of them mentioning missions. He quickly scanned the list on his tablet, noticing how fast some of the mission were being signed up for. The first and last missions seemed like the best ones to do, with either strong enemies or multiple ones to fight but it seemed no one desired a challenge. Their loss, Emile thought as he tried to sign up for the first mission. It was a singular class 4 Xeno with extra money for finding the government official, a win-win mission. However when he pressed the button to sign up for it he was denied. He scowled and pressed the button again before finally noticing the 2 person minimum requirement for the mission. It seemed ridiculous that he should be locked out of a mission because their supervisors felt that they couldn't handle certain missions without backup but he'd wait until after he finished the first mission before bringing it up with them. Reluctantly, Emile selected the fourth mission, he figured they could finish it rather quickly and then he could argue his case to remove mission restrictions.
The car ride went by rather fast for Emile as he drifted off and reflected on things of the past and future. At least the apartments were nice, noted Emile as he stepped out of the SUV and into the lobby. He took the 510 key-card, taking the stairs up the floor before going to his room. He first opened the door, surveying his room from the entrance before closing and locking his door behind him. Cautious as ever, Emile checked his room to see it was bugged before sliding his personal dossier underneath his mattress. He then checked his closest, pleased to find several matching outfits of vest and tie combos as well as plain shirts and jeans for off-duty time. "Not bad for an ex-enforcer superhuman who can crack skulls with his fists." He muttered as he closed his closet and opened up his phone to contact the other two people he would be doing his mission with. "Emile: I will be helping with the Tokyo Air Base mission. Three of us will get the job done a lot faster. If there are any questions let me know or knock on 510." He tapped the phone against his knuckles as he looked out the balcony window. "This is certainly one of the nicer places I've stayed while working though."
