Rise of the Monster Lords PF campaign

Postby Meep Meepersons » Wed Mar 25, 2015 8:22 pm

You and your companions are camped out at the treeline of a small village next to the great forest, every year it gets a little less great thanks to the humans and their settlements like this one, fortunately they always come, even over the corpses of their own kind so they are usually easy pickings, a good way to start your adventure. It's early evening and barely any clouds in the sky. The village is encircled with a crumby thin log wall with sharpened log poles to fend of forest beasts, nothing any one of you couldn't handle. Right now, you are all busy formulating a plan among one another.

Allen looks over his small band of mercenaries, though he eyes the vampire with special caution. He shifts upon the log where he currently sits and mulls over the information that Ailbe had provided him. Small village, densely packed with humans. Simple gate and wooden walls all that stands in their way and a new base of operations, something that their little crew needed badly. He looks over Gor'Thol, the massively built Orc, as tall as even his draconic presence and nearly as heavy. He grumbles for a moment before speaking, "The way I see it, we've nothing but good options available to us. Ailbe could work her way in with stealth and shape-changing to open the gate, Gor'Thol and I can turn the walls into splinters, Ms. Barthony could waltz in any number of ways, or we could simple state our demands and go about this the diplomatic way." He eyes each of the adventurers, "Any votes on a plan of attack? I'm happy to hear what creativity you've all got behind those skulls of yours." He smiles and stands to his full height, and offering a quick prayer to Ijoufu for there to be many fertile women within the village.

Standing tall as she can in her current company Elizabeth looks down at Allen and tuts mulling things over in her mind. Taking a breath to signal she desires to speak. "I could also just control the guard at the gate and he could let us in." She adds with a shake of her head. Observing her finger nails she looks out towards the town. "Or I could call forth bats to spread panic while we enter. The decision is yours Allen. I can fly over the walls if it is truly needed." Pausing she turns back to her rag tag companions Oh how did I end up with these fools. "While tearing the walls down is possible it does prevent us from well making sure none of our future product and slaves escape in the raid. or at least not as much of it." She offers with a small wave of her hand. "Keep my coffin here. I doubt anyone there will be a match but I'd rather be careful then dust."

Gor'Thol looked amongst the crew he was with, sharpening the blade of his greataxe for the coming battle that'll be a slaughter, he looked over at Allen and then over at Elizabeth as they came up with plans, he cared not for such extravagant plans but what she said did ring true, they couldn't fully destroy the walls less their prey escapes, but he also liked the idea of showing his strength to his foes. "Both plans sound good to Thor'Gol, but Vampire makes good point. Destroying walls bad idea, slaves needed for conquest." He said and began to stand up, "Thor'Gol would destroy Gate if possible, but best if we find way to open them and slaughter within without humans knowing."

Ailbe sat quietly with her legs crossed on the ground, staying silent and passing her eyes over the group for the 1000th time, trying to make sure every detail was commited to memory as she listened to them talk. As they finished, she finally spoke up, saying "While the plan to do things sneakily sounds good, I would much rather go with the one where I infiltrate and open the gate for you all. Your plans would certainly work Miss, but unfortunately you may alert the rest of the town to an attack. after all, it is unlikely that anything you suggest is a common occurrence. A human walking up to the gate requesting entry however? more common and less likely to be suspected, meaning they are less suspecting and prepared for it."

Listening to both of the others she mulls it over with another tut from her lips before turning to regard their 'leader'. "Both are viable it will depend on how you wish to proceed, I can easily breach their walls in many different ways. but as the changling said I could draw attention doing so, they can blend in with the ramble before opening the gate, provided there isn't a guard on it to stop her from just opening for us." She states before turning back to regard the changling. "Ramble that live in towns such as these all know eachother, if a guard sees you opening the gate when it's meant to be locked you will have to fend for yourself before we can assist if Allen chooses that option." Finished with her piece she turns her body so she is side on with the group, her gaze fixed on the town and her desire for blood building within her. If they fail to take this place she will need to feed on something, and with three walking blood banks besides her she won't be taking to drinking animal blood.

Having listened to his companions Allen turns toward the village. "Ailbe, you'll be going in to get the gate open for us quietly." He says before nodding his head. "Elizabeth, take your bat form and enter her clothes. Should things not work out, get things done, loudly. We'll enter afterward. Do try to hold back from killing any of the females and even the males if possible. We want them for better purposes than enriching the soil at the moment." He nods again and wait for the two monsters to head out before hefting his massive sword. "Gor'thol, let's be ready to enjoy ourselves."

Gor'Thol listened to the idea and smiled the best his scarred face could, "Gor'Thol is always ready." He said, picking up his Great Axe practically one-handed and placed it over his shoulders, ready to charge in the moment the gates opened, "The dragon and I shall wait here, when gate opens, Gor'Thol would make sure the puny humans surrender."

Hearing the fact that she is going to have an extra passenger, Ailbe gave a sigh before saying "While I believe that having the vampire in my clothing could work to our detriment, it might work. Do you possess that ability?"
As she says this, the changeling shift's her appearance to a human with brown hair, making sure her eyes match before reaching into one of her kits and combing her hair out of the way. "Well now, shall we get this started now or later?"

Nodding with a frown. "I do not like that I am riding passenger in another's clothing but very well. I can help if she is discovered." Turning to Ailbe when her abilities are questions her frowns baring her fangs. "Of course I can." Huffing she channels her own shape change ability to turn into a dire bat. The vampire woman slowly replaced with a dire bat flagging it's wings as it hovers with the group, It's huge presence filling their vision as she flaps her wings before turning back with a huff."Not a viable option unfortunately, nice plan however. Perhaps we should just let the girl go open the gates for us." She stands back motionless and as unmoving as the grave.

Looking at the huge bat, Ailbe just looks up and says "Yes, while it was an admirable plan, it certainly doesn't look to work. Let us hope you staying high there has not alerted the guards, but anyways, I shall be off."
With that, Ailbe began her walk towards the gate, making sure to look unmenacing as she walks over in the hopes of making it easier to get in.

Spriter: Your disguise comes together well as you approach the gate, no one sees you, not even when you reach the gate. Seems security is pretty lax tonight.

As Ailbe walks over to the gate, she can't help but raise an eyebrow, finding it quite weird that there seems to be noone guarding the gate. when standing in front of it, she looks again to see if there is any guards, and if not will just walk up to try the gate and see if it's open.

Spriter: You don't really see anyone but you can hear some voices a short distance over the wall. As you try the gte it doesn't budge but there is a smaller door with a eye slit built into it. You could probably call out to whoever lays upon the other side.

everyone else: You remain idle in the treeline.

the changeling looks between the gate and then the door in the wall with confusion, wondering what the practical function for such a thing is when they are so close to each other, before knocking on the door and saying a "Hello? I-I'm looking for a place to stay the night, and this is the closest village..."

Spriter: The voices stop for a moment after you speak up. The slit in the door opens and a pair of weary eyes peers through them at you. "Who are you and what do you want?" The scratchy voice of an old man replies.

"I-I'm just looking to come in and rest up for the night. N-No point in risking it out here if there is a town closeby after all..."
Meanwhile she thought: <Let me in let me in let me in... Come on, do it and I'll not kill you first. The others in my group on the other hand...>

Spriter: The man squints at you for a moment, then sighs and shuts the slot in the door before opening it. The gate was still closed but now the door inside was unlocked. The man stands with the door and motions for you to enter. You could rush him now, or wait for now and enter through the door.

As she is let in, Ailbe gives a smile to the man and says "Thank you!" before beginning to walk in and while she does so, trying to spot if there is any other guards apart from the one beside her, and the gate to see how it is being held closed.

Spriter: You don't need to search very hard, there's one other scruffy old man sitting in a chair next to a table with cards laid out on it. Seems they were playing cards while they keep an eye on the gate. You don't see mch of anyone else and the dirt inside the walls is packed in from being trampled constantly. They seem to be getting most of their food from hunting, though they seem to be keeping chickens as you can see a few coops here and there. The gate mechanism is a simply wooden crank. It's large ish with ropes instead of chains. Seems easy enough.
