WELCOMEaboard the Terran Republic Ship Lucrezia. Aboard this ship you will find friends and family and with them travel to the furthest reaches of explored space and return back, facing all difficulty along the way. Prepare to travel through the wormhole - but do not think that you will return back quite the same...
... space is a deep, dark place.
BACKGROUND (Lore; not entirely necessary, but useful for smaller details of character context)Spoiler (click to show/hide):
The Terran Interstellar Republic is a complex organism.
When humanity gained access to warp engine technology, the colonization of interstellar space began in earnest: class M inhabitable planets were claimed; less hospitable planets were terraformed; human beings began to occupy planets across the galaxy. States, conglomerates, corporations, syndicates, and other autonomous organizations making up the fractured political map of Earth all claimed their stakes.
First contact was made abruptly in the midst of this process and without concerted action on the part of the divisive Terrans, the independent - and now immensely influential - interstellar organizations of Earth all operating for along different lanes of self-interest, often clashing with each other as often as with alien species. "Rim" systems, the furthest from Sol, were frequently raided by interstellar brigands and civilizations. The disunified colonizing entities were unable to support effective resistance.
The Rim worlds grew upset with their leadership in Sol and - first one, then dozens in an unstoppable wave - they began to secede from their homeworld founders, a period known as Independence. Many worlds split into many governing bodies and divided the political power between each themselves, while others were able to unify, and still others were able to occupy entire solar systems under a single system of governance. Post-colonial worlds formed alliances of their own to combat the many menaces of the cosmos. The Terran colonies formed unique histories, cultures and polities of their own. The significance of Earth was waning.
In a desperate attempt to consolidate influence and prevent a total collapse of the original human home of Earth, the major political entities (states, corporations, etc.) of Sol formed a single body - the Terran Interstellar Republic - inviting independent Terran worlds to join while offering still-colonized worlds (the remaining few) both autonomy and representation. The seat of government, the Republican Council, was founded on Earth and each member government (both on Earth and in the rest of the galaxy) sent representatives, working to pool resources and govern collectively. The Terran Interstellar Republic (TIR, or the Terran Republic) became the most powerful human polity in the galaxy, though by no means the only one. Many political entities - including in Sol and on the planet Earth itself - refused membership, and even each member "state" maintains a level of near-total autonomy.
The result is seen in the present day, the beginning of our story, one hundred and fifty years since Independence and a century since the founding of the Republic. The human species now has a stable hold within the galaxy, if a divided one. Since the founding, the human planets have opened up to the realm of the intergalactic commerce and culture, mixing with the various alien species and assimilating them into their societies. Above all, the worlds of the Republic are diverse, ranging from burgeoning to starvation, multi-species to xenophobic, secular to theocracy, and every in-between.
Anything is possible in the young Republic. The future is bright and it is for you to decide what shape yours will take.
PROLOGUESpoiler (click to show/hide):
The TRS Lucrezia: your new home. You join the crew of the TRS Lucrezia at starbase DS-7, beside the wormhole. The wormhole near the planet Sakura-7 was discovered two years ago. Through the wormhole lies a subspace route halfway through the quadrant, exiting into space yet unreached by Terran exploration. Since the discovery, the starship TRS Inviolable has completed its one-way route home, proving the hyperspace route stable.
The mission of the TRS Lucrezia: to venture through the wormhole and then explore the solar systems intervening between its terminus and "known" space.
The Lucrezia is now docked at DS-7 over Sakura. Her first task upon departure is to travel through the subspace path and chart the system of Naissance, the system of terminus. There the planet - provisionally named Naissance - should be explored to the surface, examining it for the possibility of colonization.
You will be the first to thoroughly explore this section of space. The time frame of your journey is indefinite. No one knows what will await you in your travels across the gate. You must learn to rely upon your crewmates soon, or else learn to fend for yourself, if you want to make it back in one piece.
But one may be sure: no one will return quite the same.
As you look out the drydock porthole at the silver hull of the ship, a message appears on your assignment PADD from your Captain:
Welcome to the Lucrezia, officers and crewman. She is to be your mistress so long as you remain a part of this crew. Serve her, and she will keep you.
Welcome aboard.
- Captain Edmund Raleigh
THE STARSHIPSpoiler (click to show/hide):

The TRS Lucrezia, Miranda Class
Exploration vessel
The crew compliment aboard this voyage is 54 personnel fit for duty. The bridge crew - the majority of the senior staff - forms the nucleus of the Lucrezia. From here, the ship is directed on its course and mission. But many more actors participate in the completion of it. Engineering, including the Chief Engineer, care for the engines and warp drive, fine tuning the ship from within; the Science Officer directs the systematic exploration of the systems in question for the mission and identifies anomalous elements; the medical staff keeps the crew in one piece and tracks issues of health. All portions of the crew are vital to the success of the mission.
The Miranda class starship is outfitted with a standard phaser and torpedo array as well as a shield system for tactical defense. For extra-vehicular operations, the ship is outfitted with a pair of shuttlecraft. All other systems are Terran Republic Starfleet
MISSIONSpoiler (click to show/hide):
Explore the surface of the planet Naissance near the terminus of the wormhole, and then proceed to chart the route back to Republic space. Exlore any stellar bodies of interest. Make contact with new life. Report spacial anomalies. The ship will be mostly isolated from the Republic until its return. The Lucrezia is on her own. The journey will be long - the ETA for return, indefinite. Good luck.
ConceptsSpoiler (click to show/hide):
The plot movement is based around the decisions of the captain (GM). The crew members will then individually decide how best to follow these orders. This becomes most relavent during non-command operations (the inner-working of the starship) and during away missions (on which the captain, as protocol demands, must remain with the ship; the first officer will lead away missions). Thus, the only required PC crew member is the first officer - so a volunteer who is considers themself appropriately articulate is necessary in order to fill this position.
Actions within the selected plot line will be entirely up to the crew members themselves. Be sure to report in to the ship, to take care of your fellow crew members, and to complete the mission to the best of your ability.
The success of actions will be decided based upon d(20) rolls against the applicable trait. Traits and skills will be improved with necessary experience.
The capabilities of the starship Lucrezia, Miranda class, are as follows: Shields, phasers, photon torpedoes, scanners, antimatter warp drive, impulse engines, x2 shuttles. (note I have nerfed transporters; thought shuttle transport would be more interesting).

A career officer in the Republic Starfleet, he began as a Science Officer and climbed the ranks to captain aboard various science and exploration vessels. Raleigh has seen combat once, and does not like to speak of it. With the current mission through the wormhole, Raleigh has assumed his first command, that of the Mirand-class TRS Lucrezia. He looks forward to meeting the crew he is to work with, but feels he has nothing to prove. To complete the objectives, Raleigh intends above all to maintain discipline amongst his crew. He is rarely out of uniform.

Edit1:
IMPORTANTIf you have aversions to certain content, PLEASE do not hesitate to not them on you character sheet. No judgement here. Will refrain from anything anyone does not want to do.
That being said, please list any kinks you especially want to see. If you are not fussy (and for you anything goes), then don't worry about it; I will be providing plenty. (I should note here that I will not be doing fecal or urine kinks).
List them in your character sheet if you got 'em.
Edit2: We have a good crew getting put together. I'm very please with the response. At this rate, we can start as early as tomorrow (Feb 21). As of now, I will put together all the names, ranks, and positions aboard the TRS Lucrezia here, adding new crew members as they enlist.
