Again, the rune begins to glow, but this time your chibi friend does not yet seem to be transforming. Instead, the rune shatters into a bunch of Gundum themed pieces. Bracers, helmet... chestpiece. Might take a while to assemble correctly.

As far as you can tell from observing, most of these guys just seem to wander aimlessly, sometimes putting stuff in their mouths, other times randomly hitting or otherwise manipulating with objects they come across. They don't really seem to have instincts to do much of anything other than... to mess around with stuff.

You scan the three items successfully, seeing how each object is rendered onto a hexagonal space as a silhouette of it's own form. You can see the game world rendering around you, with lots of other player actively participating in... whatever it is they're doing right now, and they're all naked save for a simple loincloth to cover the crotch area decently. Come to think of it, you're dressed the same way as well, without so much as a top. Your wrist console alerts you of some new notifications... First of all it seems you have a quest to befriend these "Grooble" creatures. Also, you have gained three new items: Rune: Form of the squirrel, Rune: Power of the athletic tape, and Rune: Gear of the water bottle.

You hand out the kimono rune and it begins to glow. The stone tablet shatters suddenly and in your hold plops down a miniture version of your own kimono. The fabric seems a little bit stretchier and adjustable though, almost as if you are supposed to customize it to the right fit. Your Grooble friend just stares at you, and then at the kimono then makes a boop noise.

As soon as you pet the thing you see your quest log pop back up and give you an updates. You continue to chat with the little guy anyways in hope of some sort of illuminating response. He stares at you and simply asks, "Peepers?"

Nora laughs happily as her demonstratrion was more or less successful. With that result, she hoped her other two runes were just as simple. Now time for the her trailpack. Summoning the rune she presented it to her grooble friend. The little guy was shaping up to be quite the reliable little minion. Once the pack manifested she'd show him how it was worn and used by putting a couple rocks in it if she could find any. After words she looked a the words of her inventory, power of your penis.... Tessai looked unamused at this. Well, at least it all looked cool, and he'd assembled this before. Looking all the pieces over, he'd kneel down, beginning to assemble the items as he muttered to himself. Couldn't have been convenient, could it? Even if he knew how it all went, it was still a hassle to spend his time working on all this. He expected that the multi-tool rune would probably just drop a multi-tool onto the ground, though he could hope it'd do something cooler than just drop a bunch of pieces onto the ground.

Onwards to figuring out how he could get this to work for his Grooble!

Getting him to figure out the use of the pack isn't very difficult as all, as he begin going around, picking up all sorts of rock and leaves and twig and just shoving them in there giddily. "Maru maru, baka!" After that is finished with, you bring out the much anticipated penis Rune and hold it in your hand, arms outstretched as you try to figure out how to exactly using the thing. You feel the Rune stats to vibrate as a soft light begins to emanate through it from your hands, and soon it completely dissolves to nothingness. It's difficult to really find one that's any smaller than the rest, as they all seem pretty much the same size. Figures the game would just use similar models, how much would you really expect it to bother rending the growth stages of children? Suprisingly though, you do find one that looks youngish, mostly furred on the top of his head with a big bare belly and sparkling eyes. He looks up at you and seems to ask, "Gnah?"

You hold out the Form Rune towards your new Grooble companion and they both begin to glow. He floats up into the air as the Rune fades away. "B-beeeeeeeeeeeeeep!" The floating title above his head changes from Grooble to Voxel, for some reason, and after the shining light passes, you see a crouched over, purple and blue fox-like creature on all fours, wiggling his ears and wagging his tail as his tongue hangs out the side of his snout mouth.

You touch one of the Groobles and immediately your quest updates. Your touch causes him to turn around and he give you a big dumb grin with his tongue flapping about from his mouth. "H-deeerrrrtthpt!"

You hold out the Power Rune and feel some strange pulse thumping through your hands. The Rune shakes and then you feel a light coming from your eyes before it completely dissolves away. Closing your eyes you can hear soft beeps coming from different places from all around you. Suddenly a holographic screen appears in front of you and you see an interface that looks a lot like a dialing pad. It seems you have the Grooble's number in your contact list.

You begin manipulating al the generated little mech pieces, stretching, shrinking, and expanding as needed as you slowly piece together each little part of your new Grooble girl's armor"Haaai" she calls out as you cover her face in the helmet. After it is all fitted together, a sudden light bursts from the miniscule seams which seals it together. She thunks her hand against her head repeatedly until some sort of button is pressed, causing the helmet to disappear. "Giftu!"

You lift up the Grooble, updating your quest log as he goes, "Gooo!" and watches you.

As Karissa looks amongst the groobles, she notes that the almost all look the same. She does manage to find one that seems to stick out with his puff of hair and wide eyes. She walks up to the grooble with some uncertainty and gives a wave before asking, "Hi there? Do you speak English?" Knowing her luck, and the sounds she's hearing from the other groobles, this one would be unintelligible as well.

Tennai grins as the grooble changes into a foxlike creature, petting him gently "oh wow! So cute!" He would say, resizing the kimono so it would fit, more then happy nuzzling the creature after he had finished.

Slowly, but surely, the Grooble was managing to become even more adorable. Even with such imposing armour on, it was far from an intimidating being. Still, he had nothing better do so he might as well mess some more with the runes and see what he could accomplish, maybe include his Grooble friend in it. Coming to a decision, Richard started tried to get his device to materialize the clock rune and see if the Grooble reacts to it.

"Well, that was...something." Vigs shakes his head to help get his senses flowing right again, having had his first taste of VR. It's a pretty nifty little gimmick, and he can see how it'd get so popular in the gaming world. Thankfully, the game should let him log out rather easily, so if an impromptu job for him pops up in the real world, he doesn't risk his data in the game world with a hasty shut-down. Life for a freelance detective can be a bit more hectic than that of an ex-military engineer.

Let's see here, three things to scan...preferably with one being something that's alive...

Well, there's Vigs' old machete, which he kept as a souvenir of his military service. Deciding that he'll need something to defend himself with, he makes that his first scanned object. Object #2? A spare notebook, which Vigs keeps around for when his primary one fills up. Thankfully, it's blank so far, so he needn't worry about any private notes showing up in the game. Now for the hard one...a living organism. Since Vigs doesn't have any real pets, that could be tough...

...aaand cue a house spider trying to sneak past when he's not looking. All the Groobles appear to just as slow and uninspired as the next, not doing much until given outside stimuli, as soon by what all the players have been up to. And there's certainly no immediate way to gauge any sort of casting ability from one to the next... Just random fur and sometimes colors.

Just as expected, Karissa waves and asks, "Hi there? Do you speak English?" ""Grrlam nimba floory" Somehow that response seems like an affirmative no...

Voxel stands up on two legs long enough for you to size down the kimono and dress him in it before finally you are the first to complete the first quest. He seems to smile at the new dress, and tucks his arms into the sleeve for a while, before crouching back to all fours. His mouth opens to speak, but instead of noise you only see a sudden stream of letters and numbers spew from his lips. "62656175746966756c21"

You activate the weapon rune, like most the other, and in your hands drops down your very own multi-tool, all attachments included. Your little grooble friend looks up at the object in your hands curiously. She looks at her own hands curiously, as it something were amiss.

Your grooble watches with open-mouthed awe as your body suddenly transforms into a raw vehicle of muscle. You flex and show yourself off to him as he begins hopping up and down. You punch the hut once, and he copies, the wood creaking with strain. You punch again as you hear something splinter. Your grooble appears to be straining as he swing with other fist. With a might shout, you smash the whole thing over, the group of sleeping Groobles inside suddenly flooding out in a panic, and watch as your Grooble begins to grunt and swell. His lanky little arms suddenly enlarge to big meaty guns, and his stub leg into two muscular thighs. He bellows out in a deep voice, "PUUUUUUUNTAANG!" and a flesh horn suddenly sprouts from his forehead. The more you exerts yourself, it seems, the more intense your arousal feels. You load into the game and receive the regular alerts some sort of quest to befriend these "Grooble" things... Items gained: Rune: Weapon, Rune: Accessory, Rune: Form. Seems pretty straight forward... However, the stuff you start to see go on around you is less than predictable, to say the least.

Suddenly
A loud, very loud, blaring alarm clock noise begin to go off from the vicinity of one of the players (it's Richard). He seems to be shaken up a bit, trying to figure out what's going on as his Grooble runs around him in circles, arm's flailing in panic. One of the nearby huts just freaking blows up and lots of little Grooble people scamper out of it with random schreeches (is that one just rolling away?) and above the wreckage seems to be a hyper inflated, super muscular, horned Grooble pumping his fists into the air (and Nora with a hard on). The volcano in the distance begins to rumble, shaking the ground beneath the player's feet as flames start to flare up from its peak, followed by small streams of lava.

"Who dares disturb the peaceful village of the.."*cough**cough**wheeze*
The voice sounds feminine in nature, and is echoing from the entrance to the mountainside, a sturdy archway tunnel into the depths of darkness. The rumbling and flames dies down as quickly as the blaring voice does, whatever inside possibly trying to put on a menacing display, and failing. Nonetheless, mayhem here doesn't seem to be smiled upon.

"Okay, now then, time to find those Groobles, or whatever they-"

Vigs' comment is quickly silenced by an ear-piercing sound of an alarm clock in the area, seeming to originate from another player. On top of that, a hut explodes over yonder, a critter near another player goes all "Hulk Smash" mode, and a freaking volcano blows its top in the distance. Either this is some weird-ass scripted plot event, or someone got caught trying to hack...but how exactly do you hack in a game like this to begin with?

In any case, after a rather ominous message from a distant cave - possibly a moderator giving a stern warning, or maybe a hint at the first boss's location - things seem to subside back into peace. Okayyy...now that things are no longer all chaos-and-pandemonium, time to figure out how these Grooble things fit in...

With that thought in mind, Vigs seeks out one of the Groobles that doesn't yet seem to have any association with a nearby non-Grooble, and moves in to make first contact. Once he finds one such Grooble, he starts things off simple. *ahem* "Hello there. I'm Victor, but you can call me Vigs. What's your name? Also, what was that big ruckus about?"

As the quest popped up just above the creature he found it rather interesting first feeding Peepers some chocolate before introducing him to his cane and his bag. Part of Alan wanted to know what it was that required him to do this. As such there may be some way to make him understand as peepers as it would it seem would be his companion for the coming adventure. Although then he realized that the game may infact ask for a name to be called by. Not wanting to use his real name after seeing the other players he pets the creature once more and says. "My name is Deimos.... I'm sure we'll have fun together."

"Stop panicking!" Richard said, half asking, half ordering.

Nora laughed as she watched the hut explode and little groobles fly out of it in a panicked frenzy. Then her little guy shouted a word she recognized from her grandfather. As she inspected the horn closely, it seemed familiar. "Hah! Your horn is my-aaaAAAHH! What the hell!? What the fuck is that noise!?" She shouted angrily. She followed the ripples to the character responsible. She was about to hurl her new minion, who she decided to call from now on General Penetrator! At the poor sod. Seems her and the twins were the only ones with any kind of real headway with the groobles. Then the loud voice came from the caveoff to the side.
