check out the price of a pint, and (if it's in her price range) buy one for the matron and one for yourself. While your sipping your drink down, chat up this goblin lady about her life and the goings on within the tower, since she seems to know a bit more than you do and it would seem being on her good side would be a very wise idea. (Never get on the wrong side of the one preparing your food! Sure WE know Heikya would never do something evil to it, but Mana doesn't.)

After that, check the notices and with Ano for a chance to make a quick buck.
If it exists, I have it for sale! If it doesn't exist, I probably have it for sale!

> Check the Notices first, then return to Ano and inquire about odd jobs and inquire about any races that most would not consider common, and finally look around town, see if you can find any hotspots or less 'known' places, and try to hear what the locals are chatting about.

I would be wise the know what jobs are around, so we'd at least have a lead about how to get some money. Then talk with Ano and see what he has to say, and maybe improve our bestiary? And finally see if you can find some places were events could happen or where you could meet interesting people. And it mighty be handy to know what keeps the locals busy these days and if there might be something special happening.

Input action: Rent the room for a month (Set it up later) with gratitude for the bed and the information, Buy a drink, buy one for Heikya as well then make her a friend. Hear her story, share a little of Mana's and ask these three questions. (If it takes the rest of the day, so be it)
1. Where is a good deal for contraceptives, libido suppressants, useful medicines and adventuring gear.
2. You have seen a guard with a gold Falcon on his cape. What is the gold falcon symbol about?
3. You don't have any family here. Would it be ok to have breakfast or dinner together once a day?

If that's done. Check notices(do not take)->Buy 1 contraceptive - > Check with Ano for odd jobs

to get a feeling about what's going on in town. Don't take any jobs for now.

Chat up the innkeeper, she seems to know her way around. Try to find out what's happening in town right now, and if she can tell you something about that wizard.
If the flow of the conversation allows, inquire about contraceptives. If this gets weird looks, justify it with Nekomata heat.

Finally, book a room for a week. Ask the innkeeper if she's interested in having a pint together this evening. (She looks hot.)

Then go back to Ano and make clear that you are ready to start.
Oh, don't forget to check out your room before leaving.

quickly adding to my list of stuff for Mana to do-> When she gets back to Ano, Ask him if he knows any spells that could act as contraception. If he asks why, it might be time to have the Nekomata version of "the talk" with him. It might also be helpful to have some story ready about some scare she had once and although she doesn't see the enhanced libido as a problem (as long as she can find a boyfriend before it happens again,) she REALLY does not want kids at this stage in her life.

I like where you are going with this line of thought but it may be too soon. After we figure out what Ano knows and doesn't about Nekomata and then have helped him on some of his research. Then we can figure out the best way we can broach that whole area of fertility/libido control/enhancement. Particularly if there is an embarrassing heat related incident to refer back to or as it refers to experimentation on the 'problems' of interspecies mating (Think Knoll or Minotaur Vs. Goblin or Neko).

=> Rent a room at Fiendish Flagon. (dat drawing, dat flagon, dem teeth!)

=> Check the notice board.

=> Well deserved Rest & Relaxation at the inn after a long journey + good night's sleep.
+ Being a newcomer in town, attempt to entertain the guests with a fantastic tale of exotic lands (she's never been to), fascinating people (she's never met), and other wonderful things she had been seeing during her (fake) travels. "(...)and what a strange language! Every word they use ends with a letter"s"! Speaking of letter "s",one time in the temple(...)" Purpose is to start building yourself a reputation as experienced, worldly traveler, gather info and to >(Innuendo!) subtly weave into the tale a "Donations are mandatory" message.

Somehow I see this going horribly wrong. EX: "Wait, you say you saw that in (insert name here) town? I grew up there and I can tell you that no one in that town would allow something like that to exist!" Instead, if we are to lie, it should be about things that no one can go check on to see if it's true.

This is guaranteed to backfire horribly, and not in a sexy way. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Judging by Mana's stats (talkative, charismatic, looker), I am confident she is capable of pulling this off flawlessly. Telling inconsequential, fake stories (in a way nobody can verify anything) is way easier than you think it is.

But will everyone believe them is the question? Just because she has good stats doesn't mean that she's perfect in them. There will be those who will see through her and will probably make minced meat of her from saying one bad thing that ticks them off.

Isn't Mana's best "Performance" skill her acrobatics? I'm sure singing, dancing, bawdy poems, acrobatic tricks or acts of contortion could be used to raise spirits and pocket money. But it seems more prudent to get established and oriented as a professional. Not being well known before that may be better.

Also, anyone else interested in picking up a contraceptive and if cheap enough, aphrodisiac?

The worst this could do if it failed is let people know she tells tall tales. It wouldn't be too horrible, because people are accustomed to bards and their stories. It would however make people less likely to believe things she says, a "Boy-Who-Cried-Wolf" type of thing. However, she could just play them off as stories right from the start. If she did this, then would present her as a fun and interesting individual. It would also be a great help to both her and Heikya, as it would encourage people to stay longer and buy more drinks. Nothing wrong with being an entertainer. ;)

If she tells stories about herself, and presents them as true, people are going to think she's an impostor and are going to chase her out of town. If she acts like she's just telling entertaining stories, though, that's a whole different thing, of course.

But I think we can deal with that once it's evening.

Preface: Can't log in every night so throwin' a buncha general thoughts in on top of my votes for actions, so's I can say my piece(s) and open up some debate in my absence.

Agreeing with VintageBass and Bestusername, trying to present "true" tales and just skald-ing it up are two different things and we need to make a choice there foir later. There's little danger of backfire should she play the part of entertainer(even bad stories told poorly can be entertainin' to drunk folks), though very little potential benefit. So, short term goal vs. long term: Short term is find out What's The Haps(who's who in town, what interesting things are happening around town and in the world since she left home, find potential allies and enemies RIGHT off the bat and line up some potential minions), long term establish ourselves as The Cutest Fucking Empress Ever (and also an adventuress who puts out at odd and inopportune moments). To better satisfy our short term goals, my vote is to(in order) chat up everybody's favorite bartender(listen more than talk, guide the conversation minimally and just let her talk about herself or whatever she wants), check the notices, if there's any free time go check in on Ano and see what he's got to offer for odd jobs.

We want to get on Heikya's good side, since we'll probably be staying here and pumping her for info as time goes on and there's no need to get pushy just yet. Mana should present herself as Fucking Adorable, refrain from lying and generally be open and trustworthy. She shouldn't test/hone her ability to lie, cheat and steal here - there's a sayin' about shittin' where you eat that comes to mind. Cheap rooms and an awesome source of info make this a good base of operations and the hardcore recon can wait until we have some allies in place. Also, until we have tuna. Tuna is important.

We should not inquire about goblin slave armies. We cannot currently afford them; such lines of inquiry would be fruitless and may lead us to look silly.

The contraceptive can wait until we have a) more cash or b) a cheaper source of it. Nearly half our cash on hand for something we don't intend to use yet is a little risky until we've established a steady source of income or a large stash of it. Some level of flirting with the bartender is expected and the polite thing t'do, as is spending a little coin on some liquor. Neither should be excessive, a beer or ale or girly drink each to start should be plenty. OOCly we know that Mana is crafty If clumsy (and mostly good natured) but ICly she should still play the dumb kitten role as much as possible - she's wise enough now to know how to exploit that(I'd assume at least) and that such is expected of her. Give the Masses what they want until she can operate from a position of power and avoid showing off. She's just too -cute- to be any threat. See those big eyes? Would those-lie- to you?

Be the Puppetmaster. Control the scene from -behind- the black curtain, not from the stage itself.

Also(haven't hit ten posts so can't edit my recently added post since it isn't there yet) , yeah, we should toss Heikya a gold for the room. And because she's hot.
