---> Ask the wizard if there's 3 of him, why he needs to test on others
---> Ask wizard and Etin about demons, then help the clerics (if demon's aren't too scary!)

I'd advise against bringing Etim to the brewery, as we know that goblins have an inherent fear of nagas. We don't want one particularly stupid goblin to get particularly brave, while being particularly drunk and taking a knife to the back of our new found friend. I do like the idea of asking both the wizard and Etim about demons, though, and I'd love it if tetra could join in our little drinking party!

I have to appologize everyone, I'm running into issues with my schedules. I unfortunately am going to have to put this into the box of stuff to continue at a later date thanks to my work schedule over the next few months.
Appologies guys :/
However: If you do want to contact me for any reason, I'll still be on here from time to time. So if you need me for any reason, drop me a PM. I'll answer as quick as I can!
Starting to post stuff here :D http://www.furaffinity.net/user/coyoteredmoon/ and here http://coyoteredmoon.tumblr.com/ When I have time to make stuff, that is!

Hello everyone, I'm new here and i just discovered this post. And i'm so looking forward to follow this story and interact with it in the future!

However English is not my first language so go easy on me, but i look forward to the future adventures of Heikya and your company.

imput: Escort Etim back to the wizard as he is now gonna be his apprentice.

However, i want to say that i'm not so into the idea of changing the race of Heikya permanently.
I have a few arguments for why a someone wouldn't want to do it.
1st: There is currently no way to know if this will work (even if the mood has really been set that it will).
2nd: It's probably a frightening experience to have yourself being changed both mentally and physically to a point where you will be thinking diffrently, isn't that like asking someone to abandon everything they are and become someone else?
3rd: If a transformation between 2 races is to happen, shouldn't you choose a race you know pretty well and are already alot like? Like the mage thinks that it would be to much for a creature without legs to suddenly have 4 of them... I hope you get what i mean.

However something like a temporary change would probably be intresting, to see the world from a new perspective and to be the first to do so before/if it goes "viral".
(I can imagine alot of people who would like to change their race, for example the farmer and the cowgirl might be willing to spend some gold for something like that ;) )

Then about the problem with the Horseman that needed som "releasing" why not ask one of the farmers if they could provide Heikya with a horse or rent her one?
Think anyone would agree to rent a Horse to someone who is friends with the Guard Captian, Am i right? :D

Yes, i'm well aware of the fact that this has been put on hold. However i really wanted to say all this before everything started up again and then it might have been to late as the next part of the story came and my opinions wouldn't matter anymore cause all the troubles had changed. Or something like that.

Awww! Thanks a bunch, pal! Like I said: until my schedule resolves itself a bit (my work hours are highly variable and I can go anywhere from 40 to 80 depending on what nonsense happens :'D) this lil' project will be down for the count. I will say when I get a few spare minutes, I do post little things to my FA page. Which is here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/coyoteredmoon/ Hopefully, this will be able to be continued sooner rather than later :D

Until then, I just wanted to post to show you guys im not letting my skills slack. These two little ladies are Birna and Valeria, and if youre skiddish when it comes to a lady peen, steer clear of the second one!

Re: CYOA Misadventures of Heikya

Postby coyoteredmoon » Sat Jan 03, 2015 8:09 am

Hey guys,
-->I'm Backish and I was doing a bit of review of everything that we've done in our little thread. So this post is not yet a continuation, but kind of a postmortem of the CYOA.
I'm not ending it persay, but its a condensed review of some of the glaring things that I have done wrong over the course of our adventure.

>1- Being more clear about options. This is a bit of a tragic mistake on my part, especially in this tyoe of thread. So proceding forward, I need to either describe exact details before or in the options on continuing forward.

>2- Front page management/ character understandability. Heikya as a character has some very YES or NO reactions, and I understand that those are hard to predetermine because I HAVE NOT DESCRIBED HER CHARACTER! This is sole my bad, and I must apollogize. So depending on how we continue I will be sure to make it very clear as to she works.

>3- Making apparent that the front page manages many stats. So this is something that I feel I need to address, since I think many of you guys may not have realized that I was modifying the front page continuously with the her skill levels and inventory. I think the best way to probably fix this is sinply tagging on a link to her front page. Whats more, some of the stats were not clear as to what they do. Again, my fault. In my quest to be witty, I sacrificed decent information with sass.

>4- Clear goals. So as a whole, we did not have a clear goal in this CYOA and thats because.... we didnt. I was kinda winging it... yeah. Super duper sorry. So that is definitely the biggest frick up. I was doing alittle better on sub missions goals and what she was meant to do, but the unknown risks were scaring lots of players into overly safe patterns (In other words, the entirety of the Wizard's quests). Playing safe is great, but only if the situation has a clear SAFE and DANGEROUS option and the relative rewards appear to be there.

>5- The speed. I HAVE SO MUCH FUN MAKING THESE! And i love you all for playing and responding in prompt manners! The problem here is that I respond too quickly for A) lots of people to get their points in and B) people discuss the options thoroughly. Easy fix: calm the frick down RedMoon. Wait for people to talk to you, and maybe set it so that you have days of the week when you update!

>There are other problems, of course, but these are the most clearly game breaking ones.

-->Before I come to this last part: Let me fill you in on Heikya since we left her in town.

>Heikya found steady employment within the walls of the town as a barmaid at her favorite inn. She's saving up her money as she decides what to do, but she's quite happy. The townsfolk definitely see her as a contributing citizen and not a wild monster that wishes to fornicate with anything she can fit between her legs. Her proactive attitude has served her well in this way.

>
barmaid.jpg
barmaid.jpg (31.65 KiB) Viewed 1658 times

>She would be willing to return to adventuring, but also willing to stay in town and be helpful to others in the future.

> So the question is this, everyone:
-->Have Heikya pick up her gear again, and start back to work on clearing that notice board. (Heikya is player character again)
--> OR let Heikya find her own path, and start on a new adventure with a new character? (Heikya becomes a NPC we can potentially interact with on a NEW character)

Welcome backish!

I have an idea In terms of defining danger, goals and character. I am not sure if it is what you had in mind.
-I think the players want to know if failure leads to a scenario Heikya can come back from or if it will end the story (Goblin physics for example or the fear of a transformation altering her mind).
- Players may want to know her general motivations and progress in those regards if not a long term goal and see over time the ways in which that changes.
-As far personality, the points that are more solid and the points that are flexible as well as when drift happens.

I'm really torn. I love seeing your creativity so something new is exciting but I also love what I know and am eager to see more of it.

...

-->Let Heikya find her own path, and start on a new adventure with a new character? (Heikya becomes a NPC we can potentially interact with on a NEW character)

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Those are definitely points that I'll keep in mind as I start planning things out. Character motivation and personality were definitely a major problem before, and I'll make sure to address them if/ when I building the new character.
Another problem that I identified was that Heikya kinda had a plethora of undeveloped and/or undermentioned skills that we kinda picked up because she had no clear, outstanding skills. She ended up as kind of a rogue/fighter, and at the end I think we were pushing her towards magic as well, just because I had not defined her very well as a class. So that will probably be something of major address as well whe I rebuild Heikya/ build the new character.

As a side note: I also have been toying around with the idea of establishing a base character, then getting input about additional skills, fighting styles, and attitudes from you all in the event of doing a restart.

May I make a suggestion?
One of the things that always bugs me about starting a new game after a save file gets corrupted (and yes, that is a bit what this feels like) is having to recollect ALL of my stats and items -but- what if Heikya had a son\daughter? This would not only give the perfect excuse for us to not have to start from scratch, but this could also mean he\she gets to have extra stats and features from whoever daddy is.( I kinda feel like Etim would be the perfect guy for the job. Not only does that seem most like what we were all going for near the end, but think, a character who is mostly goblin, but with naga eyes, teeth, and tail. (though, he\she should definitely keep a pair of legs.))

Also, a second thought I had while writing this...
One of the reasons I loved Heikya was that it had this feeling that it had the freedom to go literally anywhere, be anything, do anyone! I think a part of that was the fact that Heikya wasn't really bound by any of the stats she was given at the beginning via class. That being said, wouldn't making a base character kind of ruin that? (Of course, I may be getting the wrong idea about what you mean by base character.)

Definitely Reasonable comments! This why I decided to put it up for a vote rather than just deciding for my self. I knew somebody would like to have Heikya back because of the work you all have put into her already.
That and I do like Heikya as character as well! I definitely do not want to trash her. Thats why I thought if we go for a character, she would stay around as an NPC. :D

I like your Idea of the newbie potentially being Heikya's daughter though. It's a very clever way to carry over stats that you've all worked to get.

When I say base character though, I mean the character personality and motivation. In terms of class and skills, I said before I may have you all help with that section! If you all make our new leading lady as a generalist like Miss Heikya started, then I have no room to complain. :D

(also: as for the naga/goblin. On my Fa page, I draw a race that I call draglins... because they're dragons...and goblins....and I'm dumb....BUT it sounds very similar to what you described XD)

I have those feelings as well. Not wanting to lose, not wanting to say goodbye and enjoying the free roaming/generalist nature.

-If a new character is made and they are not a relative would it be possible to translate rather than transfer the benefits and opportunities Heikya has earned in one fashion or other as boons to the new character?
-I had always imagined something like Lineley's Dungeon Crawl. Where what you do determines who you are and you tend to end up with an answer for most situations if not always the optimal or expected one. I second the idea of Heikya or the new character still having potential as a generalist.

Alrighty! So that's a second to m3rchant's sentiments. So definitely going to make some means of transferring forward some of Heikya's old stats.
And again a vote for the generalist route. We'll have to see how many people think the same!

Excellent things to take note of!
