Post and discuss creative ideas

Man, there's plenty of great ideas out there as to how to help the snake.
It seems we figure it's OK for him to be true to himself.
Getting him a job would be great.
*I figure one that keeps the pred from having to run around all day and work up a sweat so he can afford the meat he wants. He might also be able to see well in the dark, dunno though. He also has the ability to subdue humans without harming them.
* Tetra's pull with the brewer might be enough but the greedy me doesn't want to see that cashed in for something that otherwise isn't dangerous, difficult or wouldn't be made kinky with the inclusion of a drunk goblin tribe+their queen.

I have been sugesting this for some time now, so lets the diplomacy and bluff roll!

on another note, transforming into a royal morph wil end up biting her/us in the ass later on (and not the fun kind) as if we dont say something to the guard captain he might attacks her even if we have telepathy, so I recomend that we talk to him first IF we are going through with the transformation so he can tell the guards not to attack her when she is walking down the streat ^^

Sorry if i get a bit of Topic here, but how would Heikya fight as a Royal Morph? I assume she could solidify parts of her Body, but to what extent? If an enemy blocks her sword, would the recoil push it into her Body? And would arrows get Kind of slimy, changicng their weight and flightpath?

To me this sounds not oftopic at all, and your toughts are solid but at the same time you can turn them around, a sword that get thrust into her she (after some training ofcours) can pull it away from the user or as you said "the recoil push it into her body" as that is hapening she can make it go 180 and she got it back in her hands ready to fight, bow and arrows though I agree that it might be more of a hinderance then use for her as a R-morph so if it is that she becomes a R-morph then she might have to go full melee unless she finds a way to learn another way to use ranged attacks. Magic is the biggest one at the moment thats on my mind be it pure elemental magic (aka fire balls, ice missials, rocks) or summoning (familiars that use ranged attacks and such things)

I just had a thought... Can Heikya afford to hire the Naga as her personal guard? Because that would be epic, but 261 gold doesn't seem like enough without completing the Horsin' around quest.

Hey, I just found this website about 30 minutes ago and was just wandering...

Has anyone thought that those priests might like to hire a giant villainous looking, yet harmless snake monster to help them with their demon problem? I imagine Heikya might be clever enough to negotiate that the naga help her with that case, and in return he can use that probable success as a resume for the job of the priest's new demon slayer.

That might work but alas our handsome naga friend probably wants a more permanent job.... but it could make a good impact on the people and could lead to good things like someone employer giving the handsome (oh gosh so handsome) naga a job.

We have to think about it though, cause we really don't know anything about the demon in the church. Heck, we don't even know if there is really a demon in there and the priests are not as good as they seem...

Thanks sebaknight, I hadn't thought of that.
As far as I can tell, our handsome naga has no less than six viable options for a job. I suggest our goblin girl run them all past our friend in the cave to see which ones he likes best, then see if his possible employers would mind hiring him. This way, he's more likely to get a job that suits him and she doesn't have quite as much leg work to do. these options in the order of my favorite are:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Knight guard at the holostaurus house. pros: a roof over his head (though, all of these to my knowledge come with that,) people would warm up to him a bit more quickly, since he'd most likely be doing his guard work at knight, that would leave his days open for whatever. cons: not that big a pay, and trust me when I say this, the night shift sucks!
bouncer at the bar heikya is sleeping at. pros: possible free food and beer, a higher paycheck, he gets to see at least one friendly face each day. cons: he's throwing people out of a bar! While some might see this as a public service, he's no doubt going to piss someone off.
working at a brewery. pros: an even higher paycheck, he's almost guaranteed free beer, he'd be surrounded by goblins who would probably understand this concept of being hated for your species, rather than who you are. cons: not many humans will be getting to see, and therefore warm up to him.
The wizard's apprentice. pros: not the greatest paycheck, but a paycheck nonetheless, the chance to learn different spells (perhaps even one to change his species.) cons: he may very well be a guinea pig for various new spells.
town guard. pros: guaranteed paycheck. cons: spending most of his time outside the town walls.
and lastly... priest demon slayer. both pros and cons: unknown.

Also, a small thing that could happen that just popped into my head...
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As heikya explains all of this to the naga, she can't help but notice that his crotch comes directly up to her eye level. Finding this just a bit distracting, she tries her best not to think about it or let her eyes wander directly forward. Eventually, however, a thought crosses her mind which she can't seem to ignore... (The heck does a snake penis look like anyway!?) Suddenly, she finds herself mentally thumbing through all of the strangest looking members she knows of, when she lands upon the corkscrew of a duck and a mental image flashes before her eyes of one of those... things popping out of him with a rather comedic sound effect. Unfortunately, she only noticed after the grin slowly began to stretch its way across her face that she had stopped explaining about halfway through, and during her muddling over various dongs, her gaze had fixated upon the one thing she was trying not to look at. During this point, our naga friend registered what it was that heikya had been looking at. And only now does it click in heikya's mind that, just before the grin began to grow, the naga had said something to the effect of, "See somethin' ya like?"

>Heikya goes out and attempts to use her connections to help out the poor Naga.
>She goes to one of her first commissioners the human and holostaurus. She asks them about it, but they are un-able to help. Without guarantee that he won't attempt to eat any of there stock, It's far too risky too keep him around.
>She runs to the Tavern that she stays at. While the Bartender doesn't out right say no to the prospect, she does tell the Goblin woman that the Inn doesn't earn enough to warrant hiring a full time bouncer.
Rejected again, she heads to the Brewery where Tetra's tribe now works. When she arrives, she's quite happy to see that all of the goblins are being very productive for the owner. After a brief visit with her friends, >Heikya asks the owner about the naga. Says that he wouldn't mind him around, but he is a little surprised that Heikya is attempting to help the Snake-man. "you know there are a lot of stories that say Nagas have no qualms about eating Goblin-types, y'know." Heikya nods nervously. She knows; but a job's a job.
>Heikya goes to the guard captain in a effort to maybe convince him to help. The guard captain is surprised and slightly miffed to hear that the serpent was sentient, but he is impressed with the nagas insight to local laws and agrees that he could be an asset. Unfortunately, He would need the Naga to have some form of representation by another member of the community.

>Lastly, Heikya returns to the tower to talk to the wizard.
He starts to tell her that he isn't quite ready to do the experiment, but Heikya tells him that the serpent thats been hanging out in the woods is actually a naga. The Wizard stops and appears to have a minor standing seizure. The next few words that come out of his mouth come out too quickly to understand, and he doesn't slow down till Heikya asks him to calm down.

Return to the Naga and explain his options, although warn him about the Wizard's strange fit when he found out about the Naga being there.

Wow, that naga IS too handsome if he's able to cause attraction in prey species but same sexes as well. Maybe that explains why he went into seclusion. I hope his handsomeness doesn't cause more troubled.

Anyways, the wizard seem... all too eager to help. But hey, if Heika can play her cards right, the naga could get a work permit with the wizard's help... but it all up to the naga if he want to be an assistant to a slightly crazed wizard.... who also kinda reminds me of the Black Mage from Final Fantasy.

I second this notion! (Although I guess that means I third it?)
Also, I wouldn't suggest putting the moves on our dear little naga at the the moment (no matter how tempting it may be) until AFTER Heikya has had a little more practice in that general department. After all, I'd hate to see him to get annoyed and see our gorgeous girl in green as a better snack than a mediator! Though, if he's the one to bring it up, I don't see any reason she shouldn't "lunge his sword" if ya know what I mean.

P.S.
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Who says the bar lady needs to hire him full time? I think (...do we even have a name for this guy yet?) would prefer a part time job, to give him more time to do... whatever nagas do in their free time! But, if that still doesn't work out- and since the barkeep doesn't seem too opposed to the thought of a naga at the bar- I think Heikya should go ahead and rent our man a room. This way, the naga can sleep without worry of waking up to bits of himself in beakers and vials, or having to wake up at the crack of dawn with the rest of the troops, the barkeep has an extra paycheck and pretty much a (mostly) free bouncer whenever he's home, (I say mostly because she'd probably need to pay 'em every time she bothers him, but then who'd start a fight in her bar at that point, amiright!?) and lastly Heikya gets as many opportunities to flirt as she could possibly need! It's a win/win!

IIIIIINNNCCCOOOMMMIIINNNGGG!!! *Crashes head first into the ground, twitches for a bit then jumps up* Well that was new!

Hello everyone!!!!!!! I've been lurking around this site for a few years but now wanted to join many to be a part of this CYOA do to it catching my fancy! So ya liking everything so far but I want to say a few things, first off my input.

Action: Before heading to talk to the naga try to get some sort written proof he won't be straight out attacked the moment he enters the town (maybe the guard captain will do?) in cause he's wary of the offer and wants assurance for his safety, he did live alone till now do to fear of attack after all.
Bonus: If we do go to the captain try to causally ask about the wizard and his personality ( such as if he has a rep for unwanted "helpful ideas", tends to be obsessive over ideas or any trait that might put off a normal person) basically any quarks that might piss off the naga so we can tell him when we get him. (here's hoping we can get a point to being sneaky/commutations)

Next 2 would be direct to coyoteredmoon:

Second is that while I like what has been going so far its a bit dull action wise. Not saying "oh sudden mega fight with blood and gore and sex rape and stuff" just every problem we faced tends to be straight forward and gets wrapped up in a few hours/days. Where's the sudden hiccup, unforeseen problem, the nope dead end try again surprise that would block off the popular answer so we have to get more creative? Not saying turn everything into a puzzle just once in a while there would be a wrench throne in would IMO spice up the responses. Or do you don't care to mess with the responses that much? Just want to know.

Lastly is could you add a favors/IOU tab on the front page stat sheet like saying that we have a small favor from the holostaurus couple and a big favor from Tetra? Or would that not be needed?

Oh yes, the naga will want some written proof, perhaps a letter from both the wizard and the guard captain.

Well we just like using our brains instead of our brawn, and so far Heikya have been doing rather well with diplomacy. It just goes to show you how not all problems needs violence to solve.

However, somewhere down the line I would expect some situation that would acquire some action. Also, its not easy DM and improvising story where the story can change on a whim based on the reader's choices. So perhaps the farther this goes on, the better the writing and storytelling would be.

Input: 'escort' Naga to his meetings with Ano& the guard captain.

May as well show him another good side.

TLDR: The players seem to choose the helpful, safe and reasoned approaches to solving problems.I'm sure with more danger and daring on our parts as storytellers we can make a darker narrative and more of those 'trapped' choices.

I love the story. A goblin among humans, an unlikely hero and jack of all trades. Assassination, black widow, animal husbandry, research, mediation, spying and detective work with a sprinkle of hedonism. I say, put forth and vote for the riskier or grittier options if you want to taste more conflict. Put forth more 'adventurous' opinions for Heikya like the hot for Naga bit due to the Kaa effect.

Ahh and I suspect force may be one of the tools used when Heikya gets involved with the warrior's guild.
