Worlds Apart OOC [PRIVATE GAME-4/4 slots]

Summary of the game world-

You are all ordinary adults, living in the city of Bateston. Its a normal city, with normal problems, and before today, none of you had ever seen or interacted with each other.

But this morning, each of you felt drawn, like your spirit and body were being tugged on. One by one, you all made your way to an abadnoned warehouse in the port district. There, you discover a portal that connects your world with a mirror world, where magic is king and technology is stuck in the middle ages. An old man claiming to be the last Guardian of the planes tells you that such portals must be protected, on both sides, to prevent untold chaos and destruction to spread across both worlds.

And that task...is now on your shoulder.

Strength (STR) Revolves around anything involving your physical strength. Things like lifting heavy objects, throwing punches and that sort of thing.

Dexterity (DEX) involves your hand eye coordination. Ranged weapons and light weapons (like daggers and rapiers) also involve such, as will anything involving speed or quick movements.

Constitution (CON) is your physical endurance. Any activity you end up doing that involves lots of physical exertion will involve this stat.

Intelligence (INT) is how smart you are. Things like learning a new spell or solving a puzzle, as well as casting spells is in this stat.

Wisdom (WIS) This is your mental fortitude, and in my games largely acts as your willpower.

Charisma (CHA) involves dealing with people, how easily you are able to get people to see things your way, or do as you want them to.

Classes are rather simple, in that they define the sorts of abilities you'll have. A wizard would cast spells, a cleric heals, and a fighter wields the big swords and what not. If you can come up with a unique class of your own, or wish to use what I think are prestige classes from D&D then go ahead.

Yuki is of Japanese origin and moved to Bateston after meeting a wealthy American businessman at the age of 30. They got engaged quickly, but it only lasted for two years, before he left her for a young intern, abandoning her financially. Having zero to no money, Yuki was forced to earn her living through house cleaning at day, and – much to her shame – female wrestling at night.

BIO: LeAnn Jameson has lived in Bateston for almost her whole life, leaving only for the occasional convention or business. Oddly enough, even though LeAnn is very well off, no one actually knows what lab she works at, yet alone, what she is helping research, as her story changes excesivly with whoever she is working with. Either way, LeAnn is more than capable of "convincing" her friends to overlook any inconsistencies, if only because they are too exhausted by that point.

So, I'm wondering if access to this world should only be available via the portal, or if there should be some sort of bracelets the Guardians get to swap between worlds at will. I'm also considering making it so that when in the modern world, the characters can access their guardian powers and forms, but doing so in the modern world is taxing and thus they have to pass endurance rolls every so often.

Would anyone have a problem with that?

With him currently in jail, she's taken up the "Family business", though she mainly restricts herself to pick-pocketing tourists and playing horny guys at the bar until she can get in their place and take everything not nailed down.

Perk: Thief. Through long training and experience, Katie is extremely good at lifting items off people and cutting their pockets without being noticed, as well as picking locks and lifting latches in a relatively silent manner.
Flaw: Poor Self-control. Kat's never exactly been good at self control, nor is she particularly good at staying cool and sober when she's had a few. Takes a penalty to resisting drugs, aphrodisiacs, enchantment spells, being overwhelmed with pleasure, etc. In addition, if something looks especially enticing or interesting, may need to make a check to focus on other things.

I am...confused by your bio. Is she from the Mirror World, or the Modern World? Because if she's from the Modern world, she wouldn't have learned any healing magic until AFTER entering the Mirror world and becoming a guardian.

Also, perhaps the summary didn't make this clear, but the general idea (assuming you were making her to be from the Mirror World) was that all the characters would be from the Modern world.

Hmm? Well, the game could go ahead, but I need a response from thedude. His character sheet has me a little bothered, as it suggests the character was either from the Mirror world, or that Magic exists equally as well in the Modern World. A part of me is half wondering (this is purely an assumption on my part) if the game information wasn't all that clear.
