some small thoughts or future Development.
-It could be an idee to have the game take place after RE4(2004)) so you can add Ada and Ashley in the main Story.More girl=more fun.
-T-virus + Pheromone = Umbrella Sexzombies.
-Female Nemesis variant.
-An inventory screen and some small Puzzle's.
-Divide the city in different sections (School Mall Sportcenter Underground lab...)

Just a quick response here:

@wizard
The main menu uses the Up, Down and Z key for selection. (The controls are right under the link...)

@paint-the-seconds
The download is perfectly safe, however there is no way for me make it playable from the website, so you'll just have to trust it. It's completely virus free (I'm really not like that) and as stated, a moderater did check it out and approve it. Either way, your call.

@Sexybones

1) That's an interesting thought, I had thought about setting it at around 1998/9, but I could easily make the plot fit around after RE4. Oh, and by the way, Ada's been in the series throughout, so I could've added her in anyway. But I did plan on adding Ashley in 'The Mercenaries', however if the timelime is set on 1998, that would make her 14, which is a no-no. The current Mercenaries year is set at 2002.

2) As I already said, I'm planning to work it with the actual RE plot. I could easily change it to fit with the timeline you suggested, maybe making it in 2005, after Leon rescued Ashley, before Jill disappeared in RE5, and just after Claire and Leon defeated the second batch of G-Virus in Resident Evil: Degeneration.

3) Female Nemesis eh? Who knows, maybe I will add it in...

4) An inventory screen is definitely going to be my top priority at the moment. Since it's going to be more RPG related, I think I might make it look like the storage boxes in the old ones, instead of the "attache case" and the old inventory screens (where you can only hold about 6-8 items). It depends, I need to see how many items the character will be picking up.

5) Definitely liking this idea.

"storage box" a la RE4? It was called an attache case, so I'm not so sure what you mean. My vote is for RE4 item system, I hated the RE5 inventory.

Any chance that you will add the epicness that is Barry Burton.
Also i found his best quote ever one FaceBook.

UPDATE! (8th June, see bottom of main post for what is changed)

in response to questions:

@sl4y4

It's pretty cool that quite a few people are into Resident Evil, and I basically want to make it more of a Resident Evil Platformer with sex in it, not a Resident Evil "Screw everything in sight" game.

@ Zeus Kabob

No no, the old storage boxes, the ones where you could store stuff you didn't want in your inventory. I think that RE5's inventory wasn't as good since RE5 isn't really a "survival horror", but they did have to cater for co-op.

@ BlueLight

If I can find anyplace to put in Barry Burton so it would fit with the plot then I will see... and nice quote, not sure if it beats the famous "Jill Sandwich" quote though.

Despite it's simple graphics I must say I really like this game. The dialogue when I reached the town and the shop really surprised me!

I seriously hope you keep working on this, heck even with the simple graphics I'd still love it :)

I didn't really like the dialogue because it seemed to do nothing for you. However it' the best thing we got right now and i've got no other ideas for a new system. I myself think the system will become better when we have more of a use for it so i would hold off on changing anything.

Im trying to think "what would barry say if he was the town guard."

Right now the only thing i can think of is "Long no see lollipop" Damn my brain for not coming up with anything worse to say like "I hope this isn't Chris's blood."

Escape? .. Seriously? That simple? ... I'll try it next time. Still found it most odd that the normal ways wouldn't work.

UPDATE! (10th June, see bottom of main post for what is changed)

@ neon

Glad you liked the game, even with simple graphics, although I'd love it not to have simple graphics...

@ neon & BlueLight

I'm always open to suggestion on changes to the dialogue. At first the dialogue (whore/innocent) options won't do little to anything at all, but as your moral standpoint is established, some dialogue options will slowly become available/not available (e.g. having a whore rating of over a certain amount won't let you choose innocent options). I've also worked out a way for it to affect the final ending (not that I'm letting you guys know what that's going to be...)

@ ByHisBillowingBeard

The master of unlocking is correct, escape is the key to exit. I'm keeping escape as an "emergency shutdown" button in case anything happens during gameplay, and I use it quite a lot while testing.

Here's a little advert. I currently need a "CG" kind of artist, for which I need:

Menu Background
Mercenaries Menu screen (only the parts that are currently that boring shade of grey
Mercenaries Character Select - Portraits (for each character & Stage)
Mercenaries Character Select - "Background" (for each character & Stage)
Game Over Screens (For every type of game over that isn't Death or Infection, so all the sex ones)
Level Backgrounds (Will become clearer as I get deeper into the project.)

Hey Z-Fied, this may or may not be a world of help to you, but I think you could knock off a decent amount of your character work with sprites from the 2d fighter M.U.G.E.N.

Just about all of the development sites have gone under in the last few years, but I'm pretty sure there'll be a Jill Valentine or two bouncing around somewhere..

Postby Z-Fied » Sat Jun 11, 2011 11:03 pm

Well, corta, thanks for the advice, and for (maybe?) checking out the game, but it's (kind of) sorted out now. Under the support and tuition of Thaedael, I'm mostly going to be doing the sprites myself. I've already done a near finished edit of the character base Thaedael gave me, all that I need to do is finish shading, and wait for the face that Thaedael is working on then it should be done. Of course, then comes the fun of animating it, which I've already tried starting on a run animation, but it looks pretty mangled.

Now I can see why the LoK teams have split up after getting a new artist, it requires a complete remake of everything graphical besides the HUD, unless the proportions are the same, which in this case, they aren't. I don't want to post another update until the new sprites are finished, but just to let you all know that it's still alive, I'll be answering questions on it.

Oh but I do still need that CG artist (Read advert above)

I'm going to remove most of the advert part of that last post I made now.

What're the dimensions for ur sprites. I'd like to assist. How's about i make a base sprite, as a demo? I'mma do it 256 x 256. Just post and I'll get cracking.

Here's a little progress update:

With help from Thaedael, edited and animated the new Rebecca a little bit.
Added a way of darkening the sides of the screen in darker areas
Added a new camera system to make it a little more difficult to see behind you
Composed intro music and "escape" music.
And done a little more writing on the plot

EDIT: And I must say, it's great to be out of the moderating stage.

Just popping in quickly to give you guys an idea of whats going on. Unfortunately I am a busy person, not just on the forums but off the forums too. On the forums I am currently trying to keep the area_52 team that everyone loves and adores motivated, however it seems they do not need me. The other project at hand is the ascension project, which will take most of my free time once Kuja comes out of hiding again. Then of course is moderating. In the meantime I just wanted to spend time and teach the basics to Z'fied here. Taught him a bit about dithering, a bit more about how to do frame by frame animation, and gave him a nice little base sprite to work with. I wish I had all the time in the world so I could do every little graphic for the game, but realistically speaking it will always be better for him to learn to do it himself in the likely even that I get killed, demotivated, or just run away from lok forever (yes in that order).

rebecca chambers remake.gif

That being said here is a Rebeca chambers sprite. I made it a little smaller than the original one but that is ok since most things will need to be remade around Rebeca anyway. She is 37px x 98px, has many colors since I wasn't told not to limit my palette, and is made in 8 individual layers for some stripping goodness.

If it does get circulated around (which it will knowing the millions of users that come to the forums), I would appreciate keeping my name on the thing since I did spend a lot longer than I wanted to on it and now I am attached.

Z'fied here is going to be using it for his game, and will be modding it how he wants. I may be bother to do other resident evil characters, but if I do it will be Ada wong first, before anyone else.
