OK, so I've finally moved into a secure environment (if very flawed and in a bad neighborhood), I have a decent (if very inconsistent) job, and I no longer have to worry about my mom fucking up my life anymore. I think it's about time to revive this thing. I just need to know who's still interested so I know which stories to keep and which ones to put on the back burner or if I need to write up a new set of plotlines for new people.

Cool to see so many returning and new faces in here! I'll have to write up some new plotlines and redo some of the ones belonging to people who haven't been here in some time, but that shouldn't take too long. In other news, I've picked up a new GM! dndman has kindly agreed to handle stats and things of that nature. We're getting stat points, folks!

No, no, no, nothing THAT bad. If I wanted to use that, I would've had a stat system up long ago. The problem is the long, annoying strings of formulas needed for the stats and my unwillingness to slow down posting in order to do them. dnd's got a much better idea in place and we're gonna go with that.

Personality: Lily is a very... stubborn person. Her hardheadedness is the reason she's even bothered to start a Pokemon journey. She's the type of gal to set her mind on a goal and adamantly refuse to give up on it until its achieved, if only to save her pride. She's also rather impatient and pushy. with a fairly violent temper to boot, leading her to be at odds with people more than one would think. Being the tough girl she is, she dislikes relying on other people for fear of appearing as anything less than independent.
Home Town: Verdanturf
Starter Pokemon: Riolu
Background: Lily's home life was never... particularly grand. Her father was a miner who worked in the cave connecting Verdanturf to Rustboro city, her mother a simple girl who gave up on her ambitions as a girl to marry Lily's father. While he was never physically abusive, Lily's father had a tough job, working himself to the bone to support his wife and daughter. Eventually he turned to drinking, becoming a bitter man whom found relief in verbally bashing his child and spouse. This led Lily to dislike her household. Looking for any reason to escape Verdanturf, she began to take up exercise and martial arts to take up her time and keep her away from home, often with the trainers whom occupied the route leading from the sleepy town of Verdanturf and Mauville. This is what started her fierce independent string, partially because she admired the trainers and how they lived their lives, and partially because she didn't wish to become the push over her mother was when she grew of age. Tensions broke just before Lily turned 18 years old. Apparently, unhappy with her marriage, Lily's mother had been having an affair with one of the local daycare workers. The backlash was... unpleasant, to say the least. Perhaps to spare her daughter of the sharp turn about to occur in her home life should she stay, Lily's mother pulled some strings with her lover at the daycare and procured a Pokemon for the girl, sending her off to journey around the world. While concerned for her mother's safety, the news of her affair had left Lily estranged with the woman, so she happily took the chance to escape until things settled down and she could come to terms with things better.
Other: She's pretty good at punching stuff.

i will be using actual pokemon stats, and calculating everything as well as rolling the dice on attacks and things o.o

So, how do the stat points work exactly?

well each pokemon has its own base stat line, which can be found on bulbapedia or other links. as for levels. you get 1 stat point per level to assign anywere you want it among the stats.

The formula for any Hit Points is done as this way: HP stat x3 +level

EDIT: i completely forgot another note. a pokemon's stats on bulbapedia are in 10s or 100s. the stat formula i know of from my PDFs are in 1s and 10s so whatever the pokemon stat is just divide it by 10 and round up if need be. If you need help with this for a certain pokemon let me know and i will do my best to assist you.

Im back! I see we have some new stuff to do in the backpack so I will get on it. I may need to have a refresher on my Pokemon's level but I think I know them for the moment. Who knows however what level they are at when the battle is over.
