I'm really digging those pokemorphs, Coin. Omp, you too, although I think Weedle's undercarriage could protrude out a bit less. Don't stop the collab. train for nothing. I wish I had a scanner, I would be contributing proper then.
Anyways, sorry this took awhile, I wanted to be extensive with multiple playthroughs and I've been away from the PC/busy for a few weeks. As with before, I'm really proud of the forums and you, Humbird0, for producing something of this caliber. It's easily the best adult parody on the web. This time I wanted to make a thorough list of all the bugs and suggestions I noticed while playing through. And there was so much new content to cover.
So I hope the following helps:
Interface, Controls and TextSpoiler (click to show/hide):
=- Probable Bugs
> In the check-moves screen I can confirm my selection for each move, which mysteriously closes and reopens the menu.
> Used camera from items menu, froze game with blank dialogue box.
> Tracy's ask menu has no background, and neither does the girl who's Mom won't let her attend Selina's class on the second floor hallway.
> Certain items use formal names in any text other than "You got ____!"--Brock.key.1, milk.key, gold_nugget, fan_art, etc.
> At the Vermillion port bar: "undefined: What does THAT have to do with Squirtles?"
> Man, Boy, Girl, James, Jessie, Krabby, Lass, Rocket Man, Rocket Woman, Squirtle, and Surge all have no Pokedax entry text.
> Rapist has the same turn-on dialogue that the School Girl does, which makes little sense without context.
> There's a lot of items that are missing descriptions.
> The String Shot description is the same as the one for Spark.
> That sound effect for name confirmation really bugs me. I can't for the life of me understand what it's saying.
=- Suggested Changes
> It would be helpful to indicate in the control rebinding menu that the Ask button also speeds up text in conversations. Took me awhile to remember that.
> 'Pikachu' in cutscenes should be replaced with the nickname assigned.
> The game is getting large enough that the bag desperately needs seperate pockets. My inventory is so cluttered with keys.
> The same keys for regular controls for moving, asking, etc. should be used for navigating the ocean binoculars, and should reference the ones rebound for > movement, asking, etc.
> The following attacks all share descriptions: Spark, Stringshot; Scratch, Water Gun; Ink, Curl-Up, Harden; Roll, Tackle; Service, Lick; Refresh, Recharge; Stampede, Fury Swipes...Most of them, with a few exceptions being way different, still make sense. But they eventually will need their own individual entries.
EventsSpoiler (click to show/hide):
=- Probable Bugs
> Music doesn't cut out after the Hookery lesson until you leave the building.
> You can't access the 'private lesson' Selina proposes at night.
> You can let the kid out of the locker an infinite amount of times.
> Got the Cascade Badge after I died in the battle, although the game did force a reload anyways.
> Got the Thunder Badge when after dying in the battle, this time with no forced reload.
> I received the same picture from getting in the refilled Tauros pen and letting the Tauros in the Rocket Base out. Although I imagine it's just a placeholder duplicate?
> Ink, Curl-Up, and Harden all use the animation?
> I saved just outside the Viridian Club's door after bribing the bouncer. Upon reloading he reappeared in front of the door and I had to bribe him again.
> The babysitter no longer appears in Pallet town because of changes to the trade questline. She still says you can find her toy in the house she was babysitting at there...which you can, but she also accepts the one you get from the school. If you get the one at the school, then the boy also has the magazine you didn't trade him.
=- Suggested Changes
> The Blank Permission Slip isn't in your mailbox until you find out it's in your mailbox. That kind of quest design really irks me.
> You should meet the locker kid in another neighboorhood, like he says.
> You should be able to sell School Girl photos to the Photography teacher, as per his assignment.
> The "Got Milk?" poster graphics shouldn't be replaced until you sell the photo to a certain someone.
> Lily says she isn't into guys when, for example, Pikachu is trying to molest her.
> After overhearing the first directions, given to the cop patrolling the Skool halls, you should be able to continue the sequence at the Arts and Crafts room, and so on.
Battles and Their GraphicsSpoiler (click to show/hide):
=- Probable Bugs
[size=85]> Ekans, Rocket Woman, Woman, and Tentacool do not use their horny graphics.
> Neither does Ekans use its back graphic when let out from your party. Its front one is displayed instead.
> In the Vermillion hotel, a maid on the middle-right creamed herself in battle, joined my party, and ended the battle, followed by an unrelated maid in the top-left disappearing and another, invisible maid showing up in front of the previously occupied space of the first maid that I then also battled. Repeat ad nauseum. I shall service the Earth with my army of invisible maids.
> The battle with the Rattata in the Pallet town house uses the non-anthro Rattata overworld sprite, and the anthro graphics during the fight.
=- Suggested Changes
> The Swim and Thrust graphics should travel along the bottom edge of the screen behind the pokemon bubbles if possible. The animated asset has obvious and distinct edges when it travels diagonally, above others.
> Refresh and Stampede are somewhat overpowered. I easily cheesed my way through three chapters of the game with Blue's Tentacool. For the former, I think healing a lower percentage of current HP would help. For the latter, maybe have more limited parameters for how many times it can hit, like moves in the actual games.
> The ratio of fan art to pokemon it's impossible to make horny by other means is still really unbalanced, in my experience. Not nearly as bad as last release, but there's still an abundance of pokemon I'm missing photos for because I can't buy the stuff, even though I tried to use it only when necessary. This is especially frustrating for early game, one-time-only encounters like Porygon. It either needs to be purchasable at a steep price, a more common find, or an alternative needs to be more widely available. I BS'd the final chapter with an Omanyte and a Maid but I don't think that was an intended feature.
> Just a minor complaint, I know a lot of them are just unfinished square crops of the drawings, but a lot of them are very poorly centered in their area of the screen, or take up noticably less space than others. Omanyte's a good example. Her horny pose is both much larger and positioned higher than her normal one.
> No way to get a picture of Professor Oak, or the dozen different colors of Squirtle. The large inexorable question marks taking up space in my pokedex are a little annoying.
> Have the maid mention that you can sleep to restore health during the tour of the hotel 2nd floor? Since the other inns are automatic cutscene progressions I kind of spaced and never realized I could heal Ash there, and he went unhealed for most of the Vermillion chapter for me.
> It's a little strange that there's not more tentacle action going on out on the ocean after all the girls dive into the tentacool-infested waters. Again, I'm assuming more placeholders, because they're all tagged under that anyways?
> A boy asked for pictures of Zubat, but I never found any? Meanwhile I have dozens of pictures of pokemon no one wants? Maybe make more picture selling opportunities, and have them be less valuable across the board?
> The male field trainers need more variety than just being largely "Man" and "Boy" Since you're using pre-existing assets for now, it wouldn't be too hard to update them to reflect their encounter dialogue--hikers, fishermen, etc, yeah? Whatever's appropriate to their context. Fighting a hundred generic male trainers gets boring, very fast.
> Goldeen, Staryu, and Ekans appeared in my Pokedax early, before I saw any of them, because of the Viridian Forest moments where I briefly controlled Jesse and Misty, even though I didn't use them. This really confused me for awhile. Maybe have them only appear in the Pokedax if you send them out?
> I think the Voltorb under the truck should replace the Electabuzz in the gym (and maybe even Lt. Surge's), and vice-versa. Electabuzz always struck me as a much more special pokemon and encounter, although that could just be my own soft spot for it.
> Likewise, Sandshrew and Krabby aren't special enough to only have one appearance, especially seeing as a little variety could've really been used earlier when every Cerulean trainer had a bunch of Tentacool, and every Rocket Trainer had a bunch of Tauros. At least you can re-battle the maid with the Krabby; I missed the Sandshrew entirely on my second playthrough of this release, which is a shame since it's easily my favorite pokemorph so far, and the artwork for it is completed and implemented. Although speaking of which...
> You should be able to interact with Sandshrew's tail to make her horny, as per her Pokedax data.
> Tron's sprites and all related ones are now even more out of place. I'm thinking of re-doing them in the style of the others now being used for the game.
Screenshot SpecialsSpoiler (click to show/hide):
> This is where my second playthrough ended. I saved just outside Bill's house here, for the Porygon battle, and when I reloaded I got stuck in this...snow...cluster...boulder, thing. I can't move, or break it from where I'm standing. I imagine there's lots of places in and around Cerulean where this can happen. :/
> Third time lucky? Guess not. Stuck again, from opening the locker door from just a bit too far left of it. At least I didn't save this time.
...And these are just kind of for giggles. Some of the other bugtesters here inspired me to try and do some Sequence Breaking. And the results were delightful.
Here's the explanation. After leaving Misty to babysit Brock's siblings, I beat him and then went all the way to Cerulean without retrieving her again, or encountering Team Rocket as I was also waiting on releasing the Tauros...because reasons. Then after leaving him at the front door of the gym I went back to get Misty, and surprise! Brock's back! Or is he? Went back to Cerulean as I normally would, and Brock was still waiting outside the door, unbeknownst to Brock who was in my party behind me. So Brock let Other Brock pass without so much as a comment...
Which means I could have Brock inside Cerulean Gym. I went ahead to acquire the Cascade badge the usual way.
Brock seems to be enjoying himself in uncharacteristic silence.
After getting the badge and viewing the water show, Brock and Nega-Brock merged together again and the rest of the game proceeded without incident. All's well that ends well, I guess?
To reiterate, this release was awesome. Despite the long laundry list of stuff I contemplated while playing above, it's significantly more polished than the last one and is shaping up as a feature-complete game. I really enjoyed my time with it and I'm looking forward to the next content update, however far off it will be. You'd better be taking a vacation or something after giving us an update like that.
