VintageBass Wrote:So, this here is the 10,001th posts. Wow, this has gotten this far, right? Who knew that it would? Well, you probably did, but that's beside the point.
We've reached that

VintageBass Wrote:Anyway, I just wanna say that I'm done here. Yeah, I'm done...but to us it's just... boring. I could even say that it's just like the other Mario games that you're trying not to emulate.
You all? Who of 'you'? You say the team? Why the team dont talk to me since weeks (maybe months) ago as before?
The problem is not 'getting boring', as every human mind work like this already. When we get novelties, we can be amazed, but there will be a time we get bored. This IS expected. But if I became bored in the beginning stages, the game would have only 15 or so scenes and 3 levels, instead of 170 and 41 levels. THIS is a huge difference. And more to come. (PLEASE REMEMBER I was going to STOP on version 1.0j, this is commented in page 1).
And you might be amazed, but I am like the same man as the beginning. I put a given thrust in my mind engine, in a way I dont get bored. I just think about WHAT TO DO. Swim. To keep swimming until its completed. And I know that you refer to 'the same features, the same gameplay', but dont forget, Peach can do things more than a given mario title. E.g. Peach can ride the Yoshi (SMW), Peach can fly (SMB3), Peach can enter on vases and use veggies (SMB2) and so on.
VintageBass Wrote:Well, the more modern side-scrolling ones, not the 3D platformers. Part of this could be that your bias to them and your fantasy that this world should be set in a certain time period because you like that particular part is really holding back on the potential that this game can really have (plus it's truly hypocritical that there are these technological advantages that didn't exist in the medieval period without any explanation).
I am just following Playshapes' mind, because its the same frequency. He made his ideas happen in his MIM, Bowser Castle and Peachy game due to the fact he prioritized / focused in the fairytale approach. Mages, Castles, peaceful lands, clearings, flowers. Sex is more magic in those worlds, and we have a more expected timelapse.
VintageBass Wrote:Also the artwork is really, REALLY inconsistent, as there's no real set design to how everything looks, but I guess that comes from having different artists with varying styles working on the same project and not just one.
Bingo! We dont have an artist in this indie game. We have good ones (Luftmallow himself, TheDIrtyMonkey, JiveGuru) but they didnt get assigned to the main tasks of unifying the artwork style. The problem is we need ONE artist who can update / create art, so the art will be more consistent. We dont have this. We work for free. Hence the problem. But are those stopping me from finishing this game up and putting hundreds of scenes? No. I only have to offer that, sorry. I cant be many things at once. Although I am trying to learn how to draw Peach, I have a life.
VintageBass Wrote:And you want to know where some of us have gone? I would like to say life, but that's kinda really obvious. For some of us, and I would take a wild shot for the others, part of this stems from the fact they aren't really contributing anything to this.
They are. And the contributions ARE deep and special in a way it got me more enthusiastic to work faster and better, implementing and testing them. But I know, the feeling might be that one: 'I worked just a little....then I see Ivan sprinting like a kangaroo, including like 3 scenes and 1 level in a single day. Nahhh I cant follow him'. Is that the feeling? If so, why? I am NOT trying to be better than anyone. I am just finding time to include more features in less time.
But I received an information that made me upset. Luftmallow and Quiz might be making their own project. They got bored of helping in MIM PUT. My question is: 'why didnt you guys say that to me?' 'Why didnt we get a nice, lenghly and peaceful discussion about it?' 'Why did you guys decide to just disappear from weeks ago, then to tell me many things I preferred to listen earlier'? You guys made decisions like I am not taking care of any of the team. This makes me sad. This is why I am communicative. I am the guy who talks everyday. If not, I tell people: 'I'll be absent for some days'. And I am sincere. If something happens, I tell people right away. I dont disappear without telling why. People are different, I know. And they have their own reasons.
VintageBass Wrote:They feel like they are more of an asset than someone than is volunteering their time to help with an indie porn game. Plus there's also a hurdle that they can't seem to jump over, probably something a little stubborn and hard of reaching because every time they try to offer something it gets pushed aside, saying that it's not a top priority.
I will say here part of what I said on SK.
1 - The main priorities SINCE the beginning were levels and scenes. This was clear. Quiz was helping me with Mario World levels, in programs like Lunar Magic. And I played Super Mario RPG with him (a really nice and special moment). Then he started to play videogames more (he said that to me already) then he disappeared for some months. He then admitted he was absent, and he would return later. Then he disappeared again. The same with Luftmallow and even Blargh. We cant really be ethernally focused. But yes, levels and scenes are really important. They're the main bricks of porn games: places to go, and scenes to fuck and be fucked. I am not saying features can't be made during the 'level and scene rush'. Peach belly was made between those days.
2 - The list of 'pushed aside features' are small, and even smaller if we compare with my huge list of TODOs. Every team member has it, but they didnt talk about it. There, there is a feature that I really said 'to be done later', like 'the new hit algorithm', but this is just to avoid people to see this game stalled (1, 2 months), because its needs code rework and tests , tests and tests. Why not focusing more on scenes, drawings (peach art) and dialogues? Its a priority when we see a given game updated more often with situations we can get pleasure right away.
3 - As I've also said on SK, the main problem is just that, we get bored in a given moment. Thats NORMAL. I am not forcing people to work in this game if they dont wish to. If I end up alone, not because of 'being a bad man', but due to the boring moments or the need to make other projects, I will have to keep the road, avoid this game to be stalled forever, like many projects here.
4 - The fact you guys might feel you're not working like me, so you think you are doing nothing to the game. That's NOT true. It wont be NEVER a concern. You do what you want, the pace you want. Use your creativity to discuss what you want and why. I wont be bored or bad due to people helping like 1 scene per month, on the contrary, I'll be always appreciating EACH work, be it a pan art (and others Asian made), be it an entire castle (like Soloid and ToyLoli made).
VintageBass Wrote: Yeah, you're an obstacle, Ivan. I have to say that you're really quite stubborn sometimes
You just have to enlist the causes. Talk about them. Dont just say that after months of 'Ivan was thinking everything was great'. We are not perfect anyway. We try. That is for sure.
VintageBass Wrote:And I do get that you're passionate about this, but some times that becomes more of an obsession than passion.
I need to finish this game, VintageBass. Being 'a slave' of the own game, in order to make levels and scenes (the top priority actions), is the main reason. This doesnt imply I wont be making other features, like said above. But yes, I am swiming like crazy, because I have a few time to work on this everyday. Then I reach home, 'arm myself' (like Mcgyver) and just do it. If not, we might be having just 2 full worlds and less than half the scenes we have.I'm being sincere :/ Really.
VintageBass Wrote:Was about. With that it makes it hard to work with you, considering that some of the stuff we are suggesting would help out, but you'll shoot it down because either you don't think it'll work for the game, it's not important enough to work on now, or you just don't like it overall.
Again, enlist them. I cant compare and see your side without it. Dont forget that many features were made due to our team, like Peach Castle acting as a HUB (I wasnt going to do like this). Only the team made me do this. And I appreciated it a lot, as always.
VintageBass Wrote:And when I was offering stuff that I didn't want into the game, you wanted them in because you think they're cute but I keep saying no.
Again: please enlist them. And dont say: 'see? You forget it'. I work like a prisoner in my real life job, I have my own problems too.
If its regarding Cherbil, I'll answer it below.
VintageBass Wrote:You do have a community of backers for this and I know that these people are doing everything to help, but it's just hard to work with you if you're also putting up stuff that'll prevent us from helping you. Sure, part of the reasons you are putting this stuff in is because you have no feedback or people to say to you "this is a bad idea, please stop.
You already answered yourself. No one really talks to me tenderly about it. Remember, I always listen to people, but I like a good discussion, like being with me in real life, in a school table. I dont expect suggestions like 'Ivan! Do this because I want', or 'Do this because Mario does this'. We need to discuss. Discussions are a good meeting, its not a boring one which must last for hours.
VintageBass Wrote:But still, some people here on the forum should be able to say "no, please, stop, remove that," but they aren't. I said previously "help me help you," and I guess that's just part of the problem with this game. You're really not allowing us to know what you want
Its listed in page 1. There, you can see the goals of this game, the story, and the why nots. If you want to enrich it, remake it, go ahead. Talk about it. Lets discuss. If no one discusses, I wont be trying to guess with a crystal ball. I need to keep working :/
VintageBass Wrote:And we're just randomly taking shots in the dark to get this game forward
Man, level and scenes, remember. This is not 'shooting forward'. If you want to help, do like Quiz and MPLDAM. Make some levels, use your creativity, I will fix and change something here and there, and it will be in the game! For about enemies, we have almost 90 enemies made already. I am now making scenes for them. If you have ideas, give me sketches of how scenes should happen. And we need art (an ice mountain, a dead tree for desert levels), but those are also listed in page 1.
VintageBass Wrote:Not to mention that you're hopping from one thing to another, probably because you feel like it, and that's really not how one works on a game
This the way I've found to be more active, and more focused. Making just levels levels levels all the time kills my brain.
VintageBass Wrote:...Especially stuff that's purely aesthetic, because he feels like making it.
Enlist things that are purely aesthetic and I decided to pay attention and include them.
VintageBass Wrote:You keep on saying that you're swimming, and I'll ask you this again: "Where?"
Levels and Scenes.
VintageBass Wrote:This game has no clear direction
It has. Its all at control, I can promise you that. What we need is to enlist features we should do now, and why. Mario games tend to have a few to no clear plot since the beginning. Mario has to save Peach, knocking out friends in his way and collecting coins and powerups, thats all. In this game, Peach has to save Mario, but we have a prologue. We DO have some plot elements many other games doesnt have.
VintageBass Wrote:and it's kinda obvious to those who are working on the game. You don't have a set path for this and part of the reason why we're going all over the place with what's being added into the game
The problem is (I am saying again): I am working faster, and preferring levels and scenes. Because I dont know how much time I will be willingly adding those. There will be a time I'll be also bored, then we will end up with a incomplete game, without new levels. And I am saying again, I am open for discussions and I also work for (and receive work from) features that are not related to levels and scenes, but get implemented.
VintageBass Wrote:So far this game is more substance over style and really sometimes that's not a good thing. Sure you can boast that this game has over 200 sex scenes, but how should I go about playing this game?
Talking about some experiences I have while discovering some hentai games, I would be excessivelly happy and aroused if I discovered the game has like 200 scenes. I would be finding all of them, and repeating some of them in a different way, making the fantasy have a boost. Finding a game like this is rare, or we could say with confidence, it might not exist. Until PUT arrived. PUT doenst want to be a 'quick hentai' game with like 5 scenes only.
Of course, the more plot devices, the better. This is expected to be in the game. When? When all main scenes and levels are in the game, exausting these priorities. Can it be done DURING the level and scene making? Yes. Who will help me? Let's say no one can, in a given week. So I need to find time to also do this in my free time. See? I am a human being too. I have feelings, I have moments I am angry (real life problems), and I need to rest.
VintageBass Wrote:How do I get these scenes if I can't play the game? Some of us are saying that the game is broken and it's really showing with all the bugs in it, and you choose to not fix the backbone of this because that's not really important
The backbone IS important too, I just need a path. A list of scripts to change it. A story to follow and just implement. And I am doing this sometimes. The kamek scene that will happen soon in her roof will be part of the main story. I already have this script. Also, Toadsworth scenes (he will be teaching Peach sex lessons). I already have the script the great Quiz made. And many others that is kept safe in the backups. I know, those needs to be done. Remember, no one is perfect. I have my defects, and I have feelings too.
VintageBass Wrote:There needs to be some gameplay to this in order to work
To be discussed.
VintageBass Wrote:And when we got bugs running about that's making this difficult to play, it gets frustrating that we have to repeat the same actions to fix it. Why not fix the problems?
Arent you checking the site often? Many bugs (if not all) were being fixed. The ones who arent fixed yet its due to the fact I cant reproduce it. Simple. Once I reproduce it, I will fix it for sure. Also, I can forget about certain bugs, please remember me.
VintageBass Wrote:Oh, you added another Toad scene? And what's this? Bellies and bigger nipples? And a chain and ball for the dungeon? OK, that's nice. But what about fixing up the hit algorithm or do something to fix the panic button? No, you want to do a new dress? All right...
Now we are getting somewhere. You are showing me a fact.
1 - Toad scenes: a priority, as said many times above.
2 - Bellies: an old priority I was trying to do, but I always had problems. Luft wanted to make all the outfits for them, but he disappeared. I decided to make it myself.
3 - Bigger nipples: an old priority, and a sexy one. I was so happy when I saw this implemented and working. It made me enthusiastic.
4 - Chain Ball: to make sense when Peach is in the prison. Remember we will have prison scenes, and enemies like Mouser will make his debut.
5 - Hit algorithm: as said many times in this thread (you can search for the term 'hit algorithm') and SK, its a feature that requires me to change the code in a way I will be mad, sad, or stressed. Its like making a math test. I answer the easier questions first, then the harder ones. If I didnt want the hit algorithm in the game, I would have said before: 'sorry, Quiz, sorry, VintageBass, I WONT be adding it, due to this this this that'. I havent said that.
6 - Fix the panic button? Is there a bug there? I havent found it, and NOBODY told me. If so, I've skipped it. Please elaborate.
7 - 'Wanting to make a new dress' - Its an old thing I wanted (to add just one or two custom ones, like the decent swimsuit and Alice) and those are really easy to make. No code at all. And thats a way to rest from levels and scenes. Thats the reasons, and you can believe me on that.
VintageBass Wrote:Ivan, I get that this is your game. But you really need to listen to us.
I AM listing to your guys. The problem is time and the incomplete discussions. E.g, in regard to the Cherbil, I loved him so much, even if you made it not expecting to be in the game, but then you and Quiz said it woudnt be nice to see him farting those stinky gases, aside of his current art. Then I UPDATED his art to be like you made before already, and I gave an idea of making him 'fart' good scents and a white smoke (cum). I said I could even remove the farting altogether and just have good scenes, where Peach would be touching his butt like being his testicles and having fun. I just decided to retain him because we have no enemies/friends in World 5 (ice).
VintageBass Wrote:If there's anything I have to say is that you really, really need to take a step back and just stand there. Really look at your game and question if this is the right way you're going.
My main prority is level and scenes. I can make features between them, as said many times, but only easy ones. Hard ones requires me to take a break. A vacation. And stop making levels and scenes for maybe some months.
VintageBass Wrote:But you really have to listen to us and realize that what you're adding is not good for this game
You are saying some of the things I am adding, not everything. Like the cherbil case.
VintageBass Wrote:And start working on stuff that is important for this game to work.
Please enlist them.
E.g. Dialogues -> I will work on them. I updated some of them last week. But more to come.
New Hit Algorith -> already said the problem above.
VintageBass Wrote:As for me leaving... I just found a better opportunity. Quiz, Luft and I found a much better idea to work on and we're actually making some progress on the game without having to throw everything into the people's faces and just cobble something from that.
This is what I am referring to. You guys just disappeared because you guys still think I am not giving value to your guys. Then I find you guys in a new project without knowing about it beforehand, and what happens? I become sad. And I feel I was tricked / let aside, without even knowing when this started. Well...anyway..... we all might be mad, sad, not because of 'Ivan stubborness', but due to the stress. The lack of a good communication, like a family. We sometimes think the other are ignoring us, but the correct is, that guy has his problems, and he is trying to be active.
VintageBass Wrote:So for now, so long and thanks for all the fish. So sad that it should come to this. We tried to warn you Ivan, but oh dear...
You havent warned it properly. I'll be sad, but well....its life. I've come here with my defense. My way of seeing those issues. If we cant come with an agreement (again, due to stress, due to 'I think the problem is this, I think the problem is that'), I cant impede you.
See you
