In short (if you're too lay to read more than a sentence you lazy fuck), a Duke University freshman girl is a porn star, and is getting harassed for her choices.

I just wanted to open this up for discussion- although I highly doubt that in our sexually-open and socially progressive community, people will disagree with her decisions- because I, for one, completely agree with her ideas on feminism, equality, female sexuality, all that fun stuff. And I hadn't been able to completely articulate my ideas until I read what she's written, which, again, I find entirely correct. We may not recognize it now, but Lauren (as she's been called lately (not her real name)) is a trailblazer who, should she keep true to her current path, will lead us to a heightened state of open-mindedness and sexual awareness.

So uh, let the discussion commence? Any thoughts/opinions, go 'head and scribble 'em down, I (and I'm sure others) would be interested to hear the thoughts of our fellow LoKians.

I'm personally a person that's prolife. I don't think we should be aborting children. However if you do the mental exercise of why, and what if; you get the impression that you the person stopping abortions are a scum bag to the mother, the father, and the child. Therefore i've come to the conclusion that it doesn't matter if someone is ethical or moral in the worlds eye. It's not my job to make a wouldbe mother feel bad because she decided should couldn't have a child. It's not my job to tell her jesus doesn't love her because for some reason i decide who jesus loves. It's up to the mother to decide if she was moral or ethical and what the world think does not matter.

I think in this case here with the Duke girl, it's up to her to decide if being a porn star is ethical and if not can she live with her self doing it. What i think doesn't not matter.

First, Its her choice like anyone else can agree too. Second, that guy who spilled the beans is a asshole for well, spilling the beans. Third, the people that gives her messages to have sex with her are sick Fucks! Last, that interview was 'enlighting' about her and or opinionated like any article.

Gosh I can picture a few people in this situation. The problem to me is the people that wont stop messing with her online. Imagine why pornstars have a fake name to hide their identity. The reason why is because of freaks on the WEB and people that wont let things go.

I don't no what will happen to her. I hope she can still go to school. The school can't kick her out, she doesn't seem like a bad person. School should be her priority right now but having a social life can keep you happy. Having a part of her social life attacking or wanting to fuck her is disgusting. I hope her family and her close friends can comfort her.

On the topic of her getting kicked out of school, i doubt it but i trust my own oppions about as much as your (Cheap ass bastards) are paying me.

The school doesn't seem like a religious school from my basic googling... freedom and protection come hand and hand. DO we sacrifice protection from the government for more freedom? More bad people will take advantege of the good. You enjoy that safe water, electricity,police officers, firemen, and internet, well the government gives you that while taking some of your freedoms.

sorry about the comment. I have family in mexico. My grandparents and mother moved from mexico to get more protection. They sacrificed their freedoms to protect their family. My grandfathers best friends are dead from people that had too much freedom. I don't want to live in fear of people having too much freedom, but taking too much freedom will turn us into machines. Both sides are important but what matters is how much will you sacrifice for yourselves and others.

Just to say that we give up freedom for protection isn't correct except for specific cases. You have to look at everything and weigh it.for instance lets say a to be mother wants an abortion? The first thing your theory suggest is that we give up freedom for the child so its protected. We can run the general theories about levels of protection and freedom and how it affects the other variable and the results but let me give you a real world example. A women goes into a hospital for an abortion, her unborn child is dead. Because of strict laws she can't .i believe 3month later the women dies from her child rotting inside her. In this example the mother and child had niether freedom nor protection. All it would have take is a bit more freedom. Now people are protesting thus lowering my safety from people that exploit the system thus my protection is lowered all because some one made a law to strip mothers of their freedom and killed her.

Hazltot, about 99% of all english based arguments have 1 or all parties cheating unknowingly. What i'm trying to say is that while someone like me might shoot you down for what you think, that doesn't mean your wrong. In fact arguing is a important part of the learning process. If i were you i'd examine what you said, and what i said and see how both of us are wrong then represent your theory. For instance i looked at just 1 mother and child but what about the hundreds if not thousands of children that didn't get aborted because strict laws protected them.

Personally I don't care what vocation she chooses if she wants to be a porn star fair enough I wouldn't judge her on that but then that's because I've dated someone who's done porn.
