"True, but it makes me wonder if respawning at the town would be better than sitting around and waiting for your health to regenerate. Oh well, we could always go for first hit or something."

Maximus muses over the options for their fight while he continues his way towards the arena. Slightly disappointed that they released the Beta before finishing something as important as the guild hall, Maximus sighed. Oh well, games were made to be enjoyed. He was noticing the differences in size between the two of them, and figuring how to use it to his advantage. While he was taking not of their size differences, he also notices how his companion looked.

Well, maybe I can get a traveling companion out of this. Tanks are hard to come by, so people will want to join up with us.

"Well then, tell me Karina. Why did you decide to try out this game?"
Sometimes I think i'm crazy, but then my other voice says i'm alright.

I'm not sure if i'm just too creative, or just cant focus on one thing.

"Oh, well i think we can buy some pots at the inn or something. Most MMOs have a short term penalty for dying and respawning, but umm I was bored and i love mmos. College gets a little draining so yeah." She says this as she takes her said of the chalk circle and draws her sword flipping it around and examining it. Making sure it feels right and she can properly handle it. " Are you ready? I wont go easy on you even though Im a tank."

Laughing Hyena Wrote:"Don't worry about it. My name is Arashi, pleasure to make your acquaintance." He said dismissing the onion that he was taken aback or offended by her questions. She's probably just as excited as he was to be starting this game and it was just more on her sleeve. In regards to her question he figured to summarize it. "Well, it looks like from the sounds of things bandits are currently held up at a stone quarry. They kicked the workers out which means the walls for New Haven cannot be completed until they are dealt with. Don't know where the quarry is or whims spearheading this. Probably someone of the city guard but who knows." Arashi was trying to be helpful to Lulu at least as he was playing a knight or at least pretending to be one.

Haku stared at the men with out replying. looking back and forth between them and she decided her character should be mute for the most part. Noticing the swords men of some description that was talking to another player, haku decided he'd be her mediphoric mouth. looking at her npc companions, she shrugs and stands up moving towardsArashi. When standing right next to him she'll start poking him in an annoying but likely cute way. Also she starts waving her tails a bit to get the hang of using them

"Aw crap." Looks like combat in this game won't be as simple as in other MMO's. Still, it's just a goblin, that should be noob-level foe, shouldn't he? Deciding that the trap is the secondary danger here and not sure about the penalties it gives to Daeva, Dave turns his attention to the goblin first. Daeva points her hand at the little humanoid and opens fire with Ice Spike, followed by Sparkle Fingers as soon and as often as possible in hope of taking him down before he gets into melee range. Even if the goblin manages to get near, there isn't much to do while being caught in the snare, so she'll continue to cast until either one of them is dead or until the goblin flees, if his AI does that. If she wins, she'll shoot the trap to get free.

Natalie and Ruby:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

The fox man looks between the two of you.
"My farm is being attacked by a demon. I need help, or he's going to steal all of my cattle, and I don't want to think about what will happen, when he runs out of cattle to steal. I have money and can pay you both. As for a spare room to stay, I do not have one to offer. However, I do have camping supplies that you can have. It will allow you both to sleep comfortably, anywhere you wish, I have enough for two people. You won't have to find an inn or anything to sleep comfortably."
He said before looking back and forth between the two of you.

Lulu, Arashi, and Haku
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Haku is able to catch the rest of the conversation, as Madeline reaches under the bar and pulls out a small note.
"The stone quarry is past the western gate. Just go one mile, and you should see the guard camp on your left. There are a lot of bandits in that quarry. So, the guard has to clear each chamber, before moving deeper. Any and all help will be paid, per section of the mine cleared. However, be warned this will not be an easy task."
She said, as she read the note to the adventurers standing before her."
Haku notices that moving her tail is a bit awkward, but she just needs a little practice to move them all in unison.

Kal
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Kal acquires the rope and puts it in her backpack, before heading to the tavern. As she makes her way to the tavern, she notices a few stores on the way. They were a weapon shop, and archery shop, as well as an armor shop. they were all next to each other. Perhaps the stall she was at, simply did not sell arrows. As Kal arrived at the tavern. The tavern itself is a large two story wooden building. Once she stepped inside she found it to be primarily empty. There was a blonde woman behind the counter in what looked like a German barmaid outfit. She waved her a simple greeting, which made her excessively large breasts jiggle a bit as she called over to her.
"Howdy there, Welcome to the Golden Chalice!"
The woman said to her, as she continued cleaning a small pile of beer mugs. Kal also saw in the bar, three human men sitting at a table, gambling. She noticed a star above them, marking them as quest givers. She also saw a nervous looking fox man sitting in a booth, drinking away. He was also marked as a quest giver. There were two players already talking to him. One was an anthro fox woman, dressed as a mage. The other was a human woman in assassins armor. Then Kal saw, over by the back wall, an extremely large board, that could only be the quest board. She also saw a human man looking over talking to the bar maid. He was in some raggedy looking heavy armor, and obviously a player. She also saw a human warrior woman talking to him. She then saw a Kitsune sorcerer woman, who was making her way to the two humans in heavy armor.

Maximus and Karina
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You two make your way to the small chalked out arena. Once you get in it, it begins to emit a small glow. A small squirrel comes running into the arena between the two of you, and pulls out a bugle, as big as he is, before playing the military reverie. He then shouts out the word "Fight", before scampering off, up a nearby tree. You two now have free reign to attack each other.

Wulf:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Wulf can't get the wolves to stop attacking her, using her wolf senses. However, when she slashes at the wolf charging after her, she hears a loud yelp, and sees her opponent hit the ground. She then sees her experience bar go up two points. However, she is unable to slash at the wolf that has her ankle, and he quickly bites her leg a little harder, making her health drop by one point, before letting go and backing off, to charge at her.
You roll a: 12
Wolf rolls an: 8
Wolf rolls a: 14
End Result: One opponent is defeated. Health is now at, 6/10. Experience is now at 2/10.

Davea
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Unfortunately for Davea, her first attack on her goblin opponent missed and went wide. This caused the little creature to emit a shriek, and back off. However she then hears something she probably didn't want to hear. The goblins turns around, and heads off running into the bush, shouting.
"Boyz, boyz! Magic, Magic! This one knows magic, help me! I catches a magic user!"
Although rough, it was obviously a cry for help, which meant reinforcements.
You roll a: 4
Goblin rolls a: 16
End result: You miss your target and goblin runs of to go get help. You have two chances to hit the rope, before his reinforcements show up and overwhelm you.
By the time you realize this doesn't say anything. It's too late to stop reading.

Hearing the little announcer yell fight was Karina's signal to bring up her shield to just below her eye line so that she can keep an eye on her opponent. She drums her shield with the hand guard of her shield, taunting Maximus with a give it your best hit. She her plan went off without a hitch, Maximus would try to strike her and using her more nimble form she should be able to sidestep him and shield bash him in the back throwing him into the ground, but if she could dodge the hit she could just take the hit and cross blades with his axe and hopefully catch the head to disarm him.

Wulf Growls loudly and charges at the wolf slashing wildy over and over again. Wulf was extremely mad at the wolf and decided it needed to die now and she wasn't going to stop until it happened "Damnit I'm an assassin I'm suppose to strike from the shadows!" Blair growled angrily 'next time I'm sneaking everywhere!' She thought as she reached the wolf to start attacking
"I mean, that thing about not looking a gift horse in the mouth? Well, how the fuck else are you supposed to figure out if it’s full of Greeks?”

Well, one goblin wouldn't be that much of a problem, but the whole band? Change of priorities, level 1 character won't have much of a chance in this fight. Daeva targets the rope, hoping she'll break it and escapes before she'll get killed by first monsters she's encountered.

The deal doesn't go trough, but the fox man offer something that could possibly be even better. Camping supplies. Ruby doesn't know how much it would cost to buy them, but having them for free is enticing enough to get her to help. She might even get money out of this, so why not? Without thinking anymore about it, the girl accept <That's settled then. I'll watch over your cattle and protect them from whatever will come. If that's not possible, i'll at least try to identify what it is and some more information, so that i can prepare better for the next time it comes> she already said that she's no warrior and so she won't attack head on whatever comes. Instead she'll hide and wait for it, stealth killing or capturing it during the first night if possible, and if she fails the first time, she'll at least know what is her opponent and the next time she'll be prepared and ready for him. She doesn't know if the other player will accept too, but if that is the case, they'll talk about what to do once it's sure that they will cooperate <Anyway, do we go directly to your farm now and wait, or do you give us the location and we are free to go around the city until it's time?> well, even if she has time, she'll probably go to the farm anyway to familiarize herself with the place. If she knows where she will fight, she'll also know how to use her surroundings against her opponent.

Natalie nods in agreement listening to the other person that accepted the quest. "So... if we're both going on this quest I suppose we should join up in a party." She said considering teaming up would make this quest a lot less difficult just in case this quest was more than something they could handle. That is.... if the developers put quest requirements to even access a quest in the first place. "Here... I sent you an invite."

Waiting for a response from the fox man about how they'll proceed, the other woman accept the quest too, and then ask Ruby to form a party. She isn't surprised when asked to join up in a group, she already thought that if that girl accepted then they would probably party as to simplify the incoming fight, if it is a fight that awaits them, and so she answer <Sure> only one word. Well, she isn't sociable, so better this than a simple nod. The other girl then tries to send an invite, and if the party system is implemented in this game and the invite to join the party arrive, then she will accept and then, if there is a way to talk only with party members, she'll use that to introduce herself <Hello. My name is Ruby and my class is Assassin. What about you?> she isn't the most social, but she sure know how to be polite, most of the time, and it would only be polite to introduce herself if she has to party with someone, and consequently when asking someone for name (and in this case class) it's only right to give yours first. Obviously, this if there is a way to communicate with only the party members, without others listening in (in this case the fox man), otherwise her introduction will be limited to only her name, leaving the classes for later, when there are only the two of them... even if it's clear from the robes that they are wearing that Ruby is a melee-type class while the other girl is a magic-type class. In fact it's not really a problem in others know their class, and Ruby doesn't even know if the npc know by default who has which class, but she's hoping to conceal her class and later get a weapon that won't make it easy for opponent to know what she is, adding more variables for her to make her strategies with.

Kal took note of the quest givers and the players, it seems they were already gathering into little groups, which made sense early questing would be easier in a party, but it also meant when they got into more advanced quests they would have someone they could call on for help. She bows her head in respect to the barmaid then walks casually over to the Quest Board, she was going to need to get a clearer idea of what quests were available and what wasn't. She also tried to listen out to who was accepting what quests it seemed silly to not know how many people would be in what areas, especially as she still needed to check the weapon stall for arrows.

Lulu doesn't get far before the barmaid answers all her questions for her, cutting off the need to go anywhere and ask anyone for anything. She loves it when things are easy like that. Turning back to Arashi, she asks, "Hey, wanna tackle this as a party? It'd be easier if I didn't have to watch my back all the time."

Arashi smiled a touch at the info ration helot and made sure to update his journal with that information about where to find the quarry and the quest. Since he had no map, none of the players did the directions and heading made it invaluable. "Thanks very much Madeline. I'll be back soon enough to celebrate our success." He said in farewell and thanks. Glancing to Lulu he responded quickly for her "Already on the same idea. It'll be faster to complete quests as a team than soloing them." And with that Arashi would look up how to add her or invite her into a party.

During this he also felt that Haku was touching his shoulder several times and looked at her wondering why she wasn't speaking up. Maybe she was doing a bit of role playing as the Heroic Mime or such? In either case Arashi would focus his attention on the mage. "Whats wrong maiden?" Since he might as well play the part of the knight as well as she did. Her tails seemed to be swaying a touch as she gave him a doe look that was meant to emphasize how cute she was. It looked like she was another player just trying to have her own fun. But for Haku at least she had someone to help be her mouthpiece.

"Well then, let the fun begin. Have fun~"

Maximus charges at Karina, leading with his shield. As he gets within striking range, he touches his shield to hers, and swings his ax towards her exposed back.

(If you want to trust my rolls: 1d20+2=21)

Maximus smiles as he feels his ax hit home, and pushes his shield against Karina even harder. He doesn't want her to get a good swing in, and if her own shield is in the way, he knows she cant.

"C'mon. You're not going to let it end this early, are you?"

"Nice to meet you Ruby. I'm Natalie, a mage in the making." Natalie said jokingly as she took notice of her new party member's health bar and class registered within the corner of her eye. The quest shouldn't be too hard however she was expecting more class rewards among the first set of quests. Running herself through the settings of the game she wondered what this game was capable of gameplay wise.

"You want to join us?" Arashi was surprised he'd find such a sizable party so quickly but he wasn't going to shirk the good fortune. He would happily make the request for Haku to join his party and sends it. If all went well then that means that the three of them would be adventuring together and their chances for success just went up that much higher. Moving on to the boards he would have a look and then selects the kill goblins quest since they could easily clear that whilst they were on their way to deal with the bandits in the stone quarry. If the quest for the syndicate was still around then they would conquer that when they were better equipped and possibly with a level or two higher than before.

Karina and Maximus
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

As Maximus plowed into Karinas shield, she realized how powerful he was. She was unprepared for the strength of his shield ram, and it planted her feet firmly into the ground. She was unable to sidestep away from him. Maximus then had a perfect opportunity to slash at her with his axe. Karina felt the blade hit her armored back and saw her health meter go down by two points. His size did give him some extra momentum and strength, she found out.
Karina rolls an: 8
MAXIMUS! MAXIMUS! rolls an: 19
End result: Karina takes two damage.
Karina hp: 8/10
Maximus hp: 10/10

Wulf
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Wulf charged her opponent, and found it to offer little resistance. She stabbed him with both of her blades, pinning him to the ground, where it emitted a loud yelp, before quickly dying. She is then able to withdraw her blades, as the battle has ended. She then sees her experience bar go up by two more points.
You roll a: 19
Wolf rolls a: 2
End result: Wolf shishkebab
Health is at 6/10 (It will regenerate) Experience is at 4/10

Davea
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Davea has no problems blasting the rope holding her. She quickly falls to the ground with a *thud*, before she gets back up. She can now hear the goblins approaching, and it sounds like a few of them. She can either run, or stand and fight.
You roll a: 20
Rope rolls a: 2
End result: you hit the rope and fall onto your back.

Natalie and Ruby:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

With the party invite sent, the two of you head off with the fox man, after he pays his tab. He then leads the two of you out through the norther gate of town, out into the country side. You don't find anything interesting for the first half hour. However, you two luck out, and find a small abandoned wagon alongside the road. Ruby could not help bu investigate it, and ended up finding, a small pouch containing three coins.
The two of you then make your way to the fox mans small farm, and find it to be rather big actually. It was a good ten acres big, and you can see that the cattle have at least four acres to roam. The Fox man introduces you to his wife, his son and his daughter. The children are both young enough to still be shy. His wife thanks you both for helping them. He then escorts you two out to his barn, where he will lock up the cattle come night, which by now is fast approaching. You two have maybe an hour, before dusk.

Kal:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Once Kal makes her way over to the quest board, she finds a few quests still active.
Goblin Hunt Part 1:
Go out into the forest and kill four goblins. These little monsters have been harassing farmers and traders alike, and need to be dealt a blow to show them, who is the dominant people around these parts.

Syndicate Shutdown Part 1:
The local gang leader has killed one of the town guards. As such, we are requesting all heroes to help with shutting him down, permanently. To get to him, you need to take out his three lieutenants
Sammy Strong house: He operates the gang loading and shipping business. He is a power house of a man, but slow. He has been seen carrying a sledgehammer around with him as his weapon.
Scarlet: She operates the gangs cat house. It is believed that she murdered the previous owner, and uses drugs to keep the women docile. She carries a dagger, but if she does drug her women, she will most likely use those drugs against any attackers.
Niles Nobody: Niles is an alchemist. While, not actually a part of the syndicate. It is believed that he manufactures the drugs, that Scarlet uses to keep her women docile, as well as the aphrodisiacs used to keep the clients happy.

Farm Disappearances:
A local farm owner has reported that several of his cattle have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. They do not appear to have been eaten, just stolen. The fox man has been seen frequenting the tavern.
(Note, two players have already activated the quest giver. If you want to take part of this one, you better hurry.)

Arashi, Lulu, and Haku:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

Once Arashi accepts the quest, Goblin Hunt, you all get a message, asking you to kill four goblins. You all also get a message about the stone quarry. You have all now accepted the quest, and now it is up to you to leave the tavern, and find the encampment. You have the directions so, happy hunting.
By the time you realize this doesn't say anything. It's too late to stop reading.
