In a far off land known as Archon, there lies a kingdom that is riddled with corruption and simmering with disgust for its rulers. In the Kingdom of Halforn, a terrible crime syndicate known only as the Crimson Tide has taken root, and it has its hands in every sort of criminal activity you can think of. Until recently, the King had ignored the existence of this group, saying that the problems of the commoners (who seemed to be the ones most effected by the thugs) were not worth his time and effort.

This all changed when his two daughters were kidnapped by the Crimson Tide. There demand for their safe release-that the King step down and allow their leader, the mysterious Shade to take over the kingdom.

Furious, he sent his soldiers out to try and find her, but even his royal elite are failing in this endeavor, as it seems the criminal network was more then capable of taking on the best he had. Not willing to give his nobility away to common thugs, he sent a call out for adventurers and hero's, that if anyone could rescue his daughters and bring them back unharmed, they would be greatly rewarded!

Avaline had been passing through the Kingdom when she heard the call from the King. With her desire to someday head an academy or her own with which to teach other young mages, she realizes that the reward the king is offering for the princesses safe return is something she can't possibly pass up. The fact that Crimson Tide was also known for favoring Elven girls, which meant she would likely be a target anyways, also had something to do with her decision to take on the criminal organization.

Aveline waded through the trees and bushes, cursing briefly when her cloak tried to get stuck on a branch. After detaching it, she peered forward, seeking out her intended destination...the entrance to the Crimson Tide's secret base. It had taken some time to learn of its location, not to mention the threat of turning one of its contacts into a flame roasted shish-kabob.

After another few minutes, she finally spotted it. It was a giant boulder blocking a cave, looking rather natural to those who were either not attuned to magic, or simply didn't have an eye for detail. She approached the entrance slowly as she tried to recall what the password the man had given her was...
