Percy-Jackson RPG IC

The sun rose over a bright, new day, and on Long Island, somewhere in New york, you could just make out five figures, standing near a mighty tree, and though they looked alittle fuzzy around the edges, you could almost swear they were wearing some kind of shining, unnatural clothing. That is, if you could see them at all, before your eyes willed themselves away, and you forgot having noticed that corner at all.

Lance, the erstwhile Roman, stood, leaning against an oak tree as the greeks and Chiron talked about the upcoming events. He smiled at the young greeks. "I hope you all realize how important this is for us. It may not seem glamorous, or exciting, but cementing relations with the Romans is necassary for any of us to survive the upcoming months. Are you ready?" Erin started to reply. "We-"

Lance cut in, striding up. "Yes Grecians, are you? I've been waiting all afternoon for you to be prepaired. If this were the Legion, we'd have moved out at first dawn. I am ready to begin!"

Erin glared daggers at him. "Do you want to become a pin cussion stiff? How about you show some respect to Chiron!"

Lance grinned, laying a hand on the bangle on his wrist. "Do you want to try it yourself? I was merely suggesting we move these proceedings along, at your discretion, of course."

Erin swore, starting to pull her bow but Jessi stepped between them, grinning innocently. "All ready Mr. Chiron! Thanks so much for your help, We'll be going now!" Simultaneously pushing both of them away. Julia, who had been standing at the back, waved to Chiron as they headed towards the city.

Leaving out, they reached main town before suddenly the entire world slowed to a crawl. Apollo and Ares appeared from nowhere, flashing down from the sky in front of the kids.

Apollo grinned. "What's up guys?? How'r you two doing? SO me and my buddy here, ah.. Ares or Mars, I'm never really sure, heard about your quest and thought we'd stop by!"

Ares glowered, his version of a friendly hello, and spoke. "Greeks, I expect you to kill some serious crap! Got it? Tear those monsters up! And maybe the Romans too! Wait, no, Not that second part. I think. GO!"

As he turned to Lance, his whole form shifting, becoming formal, serious, and swathed in purple and red. "Romans treat all missions with equal seriousness. diplomacy never usually involves the kind of bloodshed i prefer, but to win this war, we need allies! I expect you to deliver, understand?"

Apollo waved him off. "And you two, Im very proud of both of you, but this is a long journey. Remember, the oracle will steer you right!" Both of them vanish in puffs of light. Looks like its time to begin the trek to Los Angeles.. No official transportation allowed either.

Jessi beams with pride at the praise she received from her father. This was almost as good as the day her father claimed her and she moved out of the Hermes cabin! She giggled to herself at how much of a manwhore Hermes was. That little messenger sure spread his.... "message" around. But now she had to focus! They had to get all the way across the country. And that was... ALOT of walking. Ugh. That was the worst part about all of this... and she had to deal with that Roman picking fights too? Ugh. Maybe she get in good with the party girl... a drink sounds awesome.

Grumbling and groaning with her arms crossed, Julia frowned as the gods dissipated and left the halfbloods all alone with each other. She wasn't a big fan of the Roman already, with his superior attitude and his distaste for Grecian. She did however, like his big arms and his well cut body... Jeez, Julia shook her head. She needed a drink before they got walking.

Trudging along, Julia occasionally took a swig from her silver flask. Inside was the best bourbon she'd ever tasted, and the best part was it never ran out. It was a present from her father, just before he left her when she was 15. Feeling a little tipsy, Julia hiccuped and giggled a little. She'd managed to keep her mouth shut for the trip, only occasionally admiring the Roman's muscles. "Soooo." Julia started, taking one last swig before putting her flask away. "I'm Julia Ryans, daughter of Tyche, the goddess of luck. Shhooo, don't get on my bad side!" Julia giggled a little, brushing back her blonde hair. "And who are you all? We're going to be shhpending a lot of time together, shhoo we better get to know each other!"
A man of means, by no means.

After Chiron and Jessi relieved the tension a little bit, Erin relaxed. Emotions were running high, and she couldn't afford to muck up. But damn did she hate the roman punk. After a few more words of wisdom from Chiron, the party walked beyond the safety of Half-Blood Hill. The young girl sighed, and kept the pace with the others in almost virtual silence until they met the city outskirts. As they continued on their long, long journey, it wasn't but a few moments until a rather ambiguous surprise greeted them. Her father appeared, along with Ares to greet them. Or was it Mars? She didn't really know. Erin supposed that because one of his roman children were not present, Apollo wouldn't have such a hard time with dual personalities. At any rate, after a few encouraging words,(and not much else, she might add.) the immortal beings disappeared. How rare it was for gods to approach their children so openly for such a simple escort quest. Perhaps they knew something she and the others did not? Oh well. She'd cross that bridge when she came to it.
After a few more steps, Erin heard the daughter of the minor goddess speak up. Uh...She was slurring so it was a little difficult to understand, but Erin got the gist of what she was trying to ask. And she had a point. Erin only knew Jessi, and not even that well, despite sharing cabins with the girl.
"Oh. Uhm. I'm Erin. She says, adjusting her bow a little bit. "Good to meetcha, I guess."
The archer is addressing Julia, but also Jessi, as a form of reintroduction. Honestly, Erin was a little put off that the Daughter of Luck was already tipsy after not even finishing one flask. They were in trouble. Erin didn't really want to meet the Roman.

Barely out of the gates and they were greeted by not one, but two gods. Technically, the count might have been three, but it was an auspicious sign nonetheless. Even if he were to consider his new companions as little more than excess baggage, Lance had no reason to believe that their quest would be met with anything other than success. Still, the journey would be fraught with its own unique dangers, especially since they were the half-blood children of the Greek (and Roman) pantheon. Monsters, the stuff of myths and legends would be coming after them for no reason other than their parentage. They would be targets, and like it or not, they would have to rely on one another on the long road ahead.

“Well, let’s get this party started then, shall we?” Lance couldn’t help but speak with a somewhat condescending tone. The lax attitude of his companions was something unfamiliar to him, and it was almost charming. Hopefully, whatever they lacked in discipline, they made up for in, shall we say, other areas.
While Lance wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of babysitting, the fact that he would be traveling with a trio of nubile young women would certainly make things that much more entertaining, at least if he had anything to say about it.

Where he to muse as to why he had been assigned this great and noble task, one possibility might be that it was done to get him away from Camp Jupiter, at least for a little while. There was nary a cunt that he didn’t leave sore and ravaged, or lover more than satisfied. Lance delighted in victory, and the spoils that it provided. Life would be quite meaningless otherwise. Whether he would claim one, or all of his companions in sexual conquest remained to be seen, but he had a good feeling about one of them at least. It was too early to get a read on the daughters of Apollo, but it wasn’t something he would stress over. If it happened, it happened.

“Lance Caelinus, son of Mars, Roman god of war. It’s a pleasure...” Lance’s formal introduction seemed almost uncharacteristically polite, no doubt due to his strict upbringing. He was a bit more charming now that he wasn’t trying to pick a fight with anybody, but who knows how long that would last.

Jessi raises an eyebrow at his change in behavior but says nothing to him. So Julia was her name... awesome,"I'm Jessi Eyre and I'm a daughter of Apollo too. And uh.... Julia? Can I bum a sip of whether delicious "nectar" your drinking there? I got a feeling its a long ass walk to LA." She said with a grin and a laugh. It would only be longer if she had to deal with sir Lancelot being a snobby dick head. He better act right or he was getting an arrow in the ass.

Now that introductions were completed, The group needed to get underway. Jessi, familiar with foresting, drew out a map detailing their path to Los Angeles. After they got through the thickest part of the city, they would mostly be sticking to northern national parks, where encounters with mortals would be at the lowest percent (while monsters would be everywhere). The group was given a lift by the Gray Sisters straight out of the city, as the quest only started when they reached the NY line.

They stopped in Weona park, just inside pennsylvania, for a break and a bite to eat.
"Grecian, why don't you put those bows to good use and hunt for some real dinner. I will start the fire." Lance sneered.

Jessi looked back at him with a growl,"Keep talking like that and you will learn what it feels like to he hunted. I'll stick one of my arrows so far up your ass it will give spit roasting a new meaning." She said and then quickly unslung her bow and started looking for sign on the ground. There had to be some tracks around somewhere.

Erin raises an eyebrow in the direction of the two drinking girls. Alcohol wasn't really her thing, it affected her aim and messed with her singing voice. The only substance she had ever considered touching was marijuana, but even that didn't sound to enticing when the thought had occurred to her. Instead, she preferred to get drunk on lyrics. Erin nodded to Jessi in greeting. As they continued on their journey, Erin noticed a distinct lack of enthusiasm for this quest. She could see why. It wasn't exactly a lavish quest, as Chiron had pointed out, but it was a quest nonetheless. The archer was certainly happy to get to do something useful for a change.

Another pleasant surprise-The Grey Sisters generously offered the heroes a free lift as far as Pennsylvania. While the ride wasn't incredibly smooth, she did appreciate the offer. It was better than walking across New York. Erin tried to look on the bright side of things, no matter how dim they became.

On the short walk to Weona park, Erin told stupid jokes and did dumb things to keep the others sedated and non-violent, piss drunk, and more or less content. At the camp site, the archer sighed and started singing a song to herself, mumbling something about the Archest of Archers(God I hope someone gets this). Erin moves to pitch the tent, and then notices the roman and Jessi spit some venom at each other. She rolls her eyes, and notices her fellow Apollo Cabinmate tromp towards the edge of the woods, she assumes in search of food by the way she has an arrow notched. Erin scrunches up her nose, drops the spike she was digging into the ground for the tent, and follows her. She unstraps her own bow, Quickburn, and nocks an arrow.

"You okay?"

Jessi sighed quietly,"Yes... man that guy gets on my nerves. Wanna help me hunt some food for us? Its an excuse to get away from that guy. And it also happens to be something pretty useful. Though I don't know these woods so another pair of eyes to watch my back would be excellent." She said with a growing smile. There had to be something around here right? It was a park for Zues' sake! Had to have something. No dumb idiots hunting all the wildlife to extinction. Now then... sign. Any tracks at all would make her happy. Even if it was something dangerous she could still kill it and eat it. Bear made for some good eating... black bear at least," So Erin... what do you think will happen on this quest?" She asked casually as she kept one eye on the ground and the other on her surroundings.

The clearing is green; moss covers the rocks and small weeds grow from the moist soil. All around the clearing are large bushes and willows, obscuring the small camp from errant eyes. The trees still glisten with fresh rain, a storm having passed through a couple days prior. The forest seems serene, but you all know too well that the quietest places can be the most dangerous.

Jessi:
Spoiler (click to show/hide):

You look for tracks, and manage to see some! The recent rain has made them indeterminate, so you can't figure out what kind of creature the tracks belong to, but you can tell by the soil disturbance that something walked there.

For all her empty threats thus far, Lance hoped that Jessi was at least capable of fetching them something to eat. She seemed better suited to that sort of child’s play more so than anything else. Her desire to “stick” him with arrows was becoming dull and boring. It is often those who talk the most that can’t deliver what they promise when push comes to shove. How could he consider such a person, who was likely to be useless, his ally? The short answer is, that he couldn’t, not yet anyway. Whether or not that would ever change over the course of this journey remained to be seen. Lance was mostly certain of one thing though, he had identified the weakest link in the chain.

As for the other daughter of Apollo, Lance didn’t have too much of an opinion of Erin yet. Her attempts to break the ice were deemed as something of a nuisance, but hey, at least she tried. When they had stopped for their break, she was able to set up her own tent without too much difficulty. Though the fact remains that she had not been instructed to do so. How long they would stay was almost primarily dependant on how long it would take them to secure an animal, prepare it, cook it, and then eat it. As that would probably take quite a bit of time, it was more or less a safe assumption on her part that they’d be there a while. Hopefully, the fact that she joined Jessi would help to speed up the acquisition of dinner, but Lance wasn’t about to hold his breath.

There wasn’t too much to say about the remaining member of their party either. She was a lush, but at least she came prepared. When this quest was over, and they had survived the ordeal, maybe then, and only then would he partake of the drink with similar enthusiasm. Right now, he needed to keep his senses sharp, especially since he couldn’t really on his teammates. How this alliance would help any of them was beyond Lance, who believed the Grecians to be little more than dead weight. Even as fodder, they had no place on the battlefield. They were a lax, hedonistic bunch, who were no better than the rest of the mortals. The fact that they even had weapons was practically an insult to everything that Lance stood for and believed. The legion was hard, and it frowned upon weakness. People such as these were not prepared for the dangers that they would face, and he wondered who among them would survive.

Once he had prepared a fire suitable to their needs, Lance stayed close by to maintain it. Taking the larger of the sticks and twigs that he had found, he poked at the flames, stirring some of the fire’s ingredients, making sure that the fuel burned evenly. It was a calming task, and one that he could easily lose himself in, but he had to stay focused and remember that out here, they were in constant danger. His free hand stayed close to his jeweled wrist, ready to summon his weapon at a moment’s notice.

Erin yawned, and nodded in reply. "Lets make this quick, I'm already pretty tired. I know we haven't been far, but traveling with Grey(Grae? I cant remember) Sisters isn't exactly a luxury cruise."

Erin tries to keep the topic off of Lance. She silently hoped that if she ignored the Roman enough, he might disappear, make his own way to the Roman camp, or at the very least, shut up. The markswoman turned her head back to glance at him tending the fire. She shrugs and continues onward, following Jessi's lead. Erin notices her cabinmate pick up the tracks of an animal, but neither of the hunters could identify the animal through the mud. Odd. She thought nothing of it at the time.

"I'm actually not sure. With luck, it'll be boring, and we'll get the dweeb back to his camp as quickly as possible. Though, as demigods, we never really have much luck," She replies to her partner. Then after a moment of thought, she jerks her thumb back towards camp. "Even with our resident lightweight over there."

Jessi holds her chin in thought,"Hmmm... Well I am hoping she gives us some luck. At least that rain will keep our scent down.. though it also ruined my track. Urgh. Nothing ever goes right. Come on. Let's go get us some dinner." She says cheerfully as she stalked forward along the trail the creature had left... whatever it was. Whatever it was she was going to kill it. Whether it was tasty or because it was dangerous and had to be put down to save the rest of them. Jessi felt a little sympathy towards Erin though at her mention of being tired. She was getting alittle sleepy too and the thought of warm food in her belly before sleeping was the only thing that helped her stave off her sleep. She would get her prey first. Sleep could wait.

Slowly continuing to drink as they got to the clearing, Julia was in no position to help hunt. She wasn't opposed to spending time alone with the Roman; the bourbon took the edge off his words, and left only his attractive body for her to think about.

She tries to help the Roman, but inebriated as she was she helps little. Giving up, she rolls out her sleeping mat and slumps down on it, legs splayed carelessly.

As Jessi and Erin walk deeper into the forest, the light fades, leaving a murky quiet blanket splayed across the forest, every sound muffled by the thick mud and pine needles that covered the floor. Over to their left, the bushes rustled, attracting their attention. Could it be a rabbit? maybe a deer bedding down for the night? As they edged closer, a quiet cough echoed from behind them, making both of them spin around.

Standing in front of them, A huge man, or would it be boy? stood in front of them. Despite his size, he still looked like a young teenager, with an adonis-like chest, chiseled with muscles, wearing nothing but a small fur skin to cover his privates, which were barely contained. The teen oozed sex appeal as he smiled down at them. "Well little ladies, what are you doing here with those nasty toys? This section of the woods is spoken for, which means your trespassing. Would you like me to show you the way out?"

Back at camp, Lance had nothing to do. Besides the occasional glances at the unconscious (and incredibly hot) drunk splayed out in her bed, all he could do now was wait for the others to return. Oh well. His Roman patience would see him through... right?

Now that the fire had been going for a good amount of time, it didn’t require the attention that it had earlier. Setting the stick down on the ground behind him, Lance had little else to do but wait for the daughters of Apollo to return. The daughter of Tyche, Julia, had tried to help him with the fire, but she soon wound up passed out on the ground. Thankfully, she had managed to get her bedroll out before she fell asleep. Lance knew from experience that sleeping on the ground with nothing between you and it seldom resulted in a quality rest.

Glancing over to his comrade, he could see that she was sprawled out quite unceremoniously, with little care to the possible dangers that surrounded them. With her legs spread wide open like that, she was just inviting trouble. Had he been a far less scrupulous man, Lance would have stared intensely at the space in-between her legs, imagining himself ravaging her with all the strength that a demi-god could muster. If the other two happened to come back before he was through with Julia, then they could join in on the fun. The more the merrier. He could fantasize about all that and more later. A few casual glances would suffice for now. In the meantime, Lance got to work setting up some of his own camping supplies.

Erin yawns again, nodding in agreement with her fellow daughter of Apollo. She continue to trot along with the girl, keeping up pace when necessary. Even though she was tired, the young girl did her best to keep an eye out for trouble. Jessi was right on one account-Nothing ever goes right. Not for demigods. After walking a good ways, Erin perks up, hearing some rustling around behind some shrubbery. In a flash, her bow is drawn and aimed in that general direction. An emerald flame alights the arrowhead, Quickburn's natural enchantment kicking in. In a few seconds, the flame dies down to nothingness. Wouldn't want to burn their food.

Erin is already licking her lips in anticipation of a meal, when she hears someone clear their throat behind them. Carefully easing the string back to its original position, she draws the arrow in and replaces it in the quiver. Turning to face the interruption, Erin blinks when she sees a young, attractive man standing in little more than a fur loincloth.

"O-oh uhm I-I see...Well we weren't aware that the hunting area was taken. We're terribly sorry. If it's just alright with you, we'll be back on our way then. We'll hunt somewhere else." She replies, after getting over her initial shock. She gulps a little bit, attempting not to stare anywhere embarrassing. Despite the need for food, she would prefer to leave the area hungry but with her life. This was obviously an immortal or monster of some sort, though she wouldn't exactly group this young man with the term 'monster.'
